Please don't do a Bryan-Henry double-turn, even thought My Main Man D-Bry Right Here was a bit heelish with his kick to the injured leg.

Brodus Clay's "first" match is going to be vs. Bowtunga, obviously.

Have you forgotten that Cole was a WAR CORRESPONDENT!?!

Actually I thought he was pretty reigned in most of the night, and they pulled way back with the obnoxious Twitter talk too.

It gave me hope that he could actually win the match. He's a submission guy, and Henry's wearing the DDP ribtape on his foot, a virtual Achilles heel.

I only caught parts of the show, but the opening segment was interesting because I wasn't sure where it was going and I'm still not sure. I don't think they will turn Cena heel, but I would love to see him become a heel similar to Bret Hart in '97 without the Canada/America part. Have him turn on the fans by saying he lives and breaths the WWE and yet they still cheer for ingrates like Punk, or guys who only come in for a paycheck like Rock. It seems like the only option left that won't further neuter Cena's character.

The Daniel Bryan segment was good, I don't see him turning heel anytime soon. I also don't see him winning the title on Smackdown. I would have it basically be a squash for Henry, with hope spot after hope spot for Bryan. They need to really sell the fact that Bryan is taking everything Henry has and is still coming back, this could be a great Sting/Vader type of match.

I caught the end of the main event and it seemed like a good match, and leaves things open for yet another rematch at TLC.

One question though I turned back to Raw during the Diva's match and saw Beth and Natalya running around the ring in workout clothes, was there a point to this that I missed the explanation of?

Best RAW of the year? Probably. Certainly the most consistent Internet fan wank. Piper tries to coerce something heelish out of Cena, Internet darling Dolph Ziggler beats Randy Orton, Internet darling Daniel Bryan looks strong against Mark Henry, Internet darling Zack Ryder beats Jack Swagger, and Internet darling CM Punk main events and beats Alberto Del Rio.

Whoever booked this threw the Internet the biggest bone since the first Summer of Punk promo.

Am I alone in hoping Alberto goes back to the midcard now? He offered Punk a great '80s style gimmick to work against, but Punk is fighting the new GM more than Alberto.

Nope. ADR bores me to tears. He doesn't suck or anything, but something just doesn't click. I think a lot of it is that he comes off as a new take on the Million Dollar Man and JBL, but doesn't have the charisma of either (and this is from a guy that HATES JBL).

One more thing about that Punk/ADR match: The director botched the coverage of the GTS, and it doesn't seem like the only time this has happened lately. That's the champ hitting His Move (© Schiavone) after the first RAW title match since August, and we get a jumble of Ricardo selling. Sadness.

They've done nothing to expand the guys character since he came to the WWE except have him shift from capable technician to chicken shit heel from time to time.

Del Rio really just needs to get off tv for a little while. Losing the whole car entrance would be nice as well as giving him a bigger ensemble. Ricardo is eating too many finishers, why not give him another bodyguard to hide behind and maybe a mouthy entitled Diva. They could play up the Mexican heritage more, they could do a lot of things with the guy. He doesn't have to stay boring.

These viral YouTube plugs have "Chris Jericho" written all over them. Man, are people going to be sorely disappointed when it winds up NOT being Chris Jericho.

I had every intention of missing out on this show last night, but now I may be starting to regret it. If I keep seeing more positive buzz on Raw (and there was plenty of it last night), I might come back in sooner than I expected. Especially to see where they go with this Cena situation.

So now that Morrison's been turfed, I wonder who they feed to Brodus next week? On a totally, 100%, completely unrelated note, Evan Bourne's 30-day suspension will be up by next week's show!

They just needed to keep Del Rio up long enough for him to get the prestigious cover of HOMBRE magazine - now that that's been accomplished, WWE can let him slide back down to the midcard.

The problem with Del Rio is they insisted on making him Champion this year, which was absurd. They hadn't even finished establishing Miz, which is what this year should have been about. Then you had the summer of Punk thing, which no one could have anticipated, which obviously required Punk getting a title run, which should have blatantly pushed back the ADR's title win to next year. After he failed to win the title from Edge at Wrestlemania, he should have been put into a memorable, several months long blood feud. There was no reason to have him win MITB, and even less reason to go from him to Cena to him again to Punk. Just ridiculous.

Was it just me or did Piper and Cena not have very good chemistry? The segment was good, but they were talking over each other. It just seemed awkward.

Good show all around. Liked D-Bry's fire. Enjoyed Punk getting a real main eventer moment. Now do that for a couple years and see where it gets us.

Certainly one of the best Raws I can recall in 2011.

There have been many times where I felt WWE was in a potentially strong position, with stars on the horizon of breaking out mixed with good booking. Too many times though, it had all fizzled out in a month or so. Hopefully, they will continue to ride this momentum all the way to Wrestlemania.

There's no doubt that it will be the highest grossing wrestling pay-per-view of all time. So it's gotta be pretty good motivation, right? Perhaps that's why we're starting to see improved shows. To my mind, WWE historically does improve from November to April anyway, then tail off again from spring to autumn.

On Raw, I saw money in several things they did.

The Cena angle could be the start of the most interesting character development for Cena since.... 2005? He's booed by half the crowd because he's not a great wrestler and is a vanilla babyface, but mainly because he has been stale for so very, very long now. Let him not exactly snap at some point, but there needs to be a harder edge to Cena. They hinted that this will develop slowly over the next few months. I hope so.

Zack Ryder. People seem to genuinely want to see him succeed, and that's half the battle. WWE could at this point clip his wings, or let him soar.

CM Punk. When was the last time a babyface WWE champion had such a universally positive response from the crowd?

Dolph Ziggler. I tweeted that this guy would headline Mania XXIX, he might make it to the top before then. Could always work a great match with just about anyone, but is finally showing personality. The way he bumps reminds me of early 90's Shawn Michaels.

Randy Orton. This guy is going to help a lot of other guys get over just by being in the ring with him, he's that good at the moment. And seems to be genuinely trying to help others make that step up.

These guys are all so awesome right now. Punk and Orton have been right on point with everything, and Ziggler and Ryder have reached above anyone's expectations.

I love anytime its Ryder vs Ziggler, but the Punk-Ziggler match last week really makes me look forward to a main event feud between those two.

I have no problem with him winning MITB, but you're right, that quick title switch of ADR to Cena back to ADR was completely unnecessary.

ADR's constant talk of his 'destiny' as world champion made winning a secondary title seem meaningless, so I can see the logic in finally having him reach the top relatively quickly. Though, frankly, maybe ADR should've been the one to promise to cash in at Wrestlemania...it gives him months to brag, and boast, and if he actually did pull the trigger beforehand, it would've gotten him for heat for lying about it. Obviously Punk's rise wasn't foreseen, but hindsight being 20-20, having champ Punk face off against the briefcase-wielding Del Rio could've been a good WM main event.
