And well you should. I am pretty much in agreement that Cena beating the Awesome Truth makes no sense. The entire thing already feels flat. Cena needs to take a beating, a beating so bad there is no magical resurrection. It really should be no shock to anyone how badly they are booking this. They screwed up with Punk and now they are going to screw up Rock's return. The only way it works out is if Rock turns on Cena or vice verse, but one of them would have to be the heel from this point on and I don't see Vince having the balls to do that.

I totally expect SS to go off the air with a picture of Rock standing over Cena's lifeless body after he eats a Rock Bottom.

As bad as it was for Cena to beat Awesome Truth by himself, the utter failure of La Familia is just ... Once again, I wonder what benefit Dolph gets in working with Vickie, character-wise.

Yes, yes, she helps him stay heel, but she doesn't help him win. Swagger has no momentum either. If he's not schmoozing Vickie to get a shot against Dolph, what's the point of this stable?

Rough night for Statler & Waldorf. They were supposed to be the MVPs for the show, but they were in LOD 2000 shape as far as their timing and material went. They even got upstaged by Cole yelling "YOU TWO OLD FOOOOOOOLS!" at them after their first appearance.

The true highlight of the night - which probably isn't saying much but was still completely awesome - was that Punk was not only wearing a Jack Burton t-shirt, he also threw out the Chang Sing hand signal on the way to the ring. I marked. Obviously, drinking from a Six Demon Bag is permitted under the tenets of straight edge.

I get that they needed to build up Awesome Truth by beating the tag champs last week, but why do the champs have to job to a non team in Rhoades and Barrett this week?? It seemed even more retarded later in the night when any momentum Awesome Truth had after the win over the tag champs was totally squashed by Cena last night. Not to mention (because everyone else has already) how illogical Cena’s easy win was.

Yes, everyone, myself included, will still order SS, but it definitely takes away some of the sizzle. Instead of a great story to build to the main event of SS, they are just basically saying, “Rock is coming back, but we are trying to screw it up. Just buy the damn thing”. Last week was bad enough with the promo announcing Rock’s return early in the show, before Cena even asks him at the end of the same show! This should be sooooooo easy.

They have what is potentially a GREAT card lined up for Survivor Series, but they seemingly can't book their way out of a paper bag. In ADR/Punk you've got two guys who can't afford to lose - Punk's been cooled off by four straight PPV jobs, and Del Rio's not recovered from the two-week John Cena reign of terror in October. Had Del Rio held the belt uninterrupted from SummerSlam onward, and gone over strong against whomever at NoC instead of tapping clean, the Punk match at SS would be a good blowoff to his first reign with Punk retaking the belt and reaffirming his top-line status. As it is, a Del Rio loss makes him look like a weaker champion than Christian and a Punk loss just continues the damage to his character.

The only thing I can think of with the Cena booking and the sudden push of the Wade/Cody combo is that they are indeed changing it to a ten-man with Truth/Miz/Barrett/Rhodes/Christian against Rock/Cena/Orton/Sheamus/fifth partner. But even then last night's booking is spectacularly dumb, and having Cena get beat down by five guys next week is shutting the gate after the horse has bolted.

Of course, if you *really* want to go all Paranoid-Internet-Conspiracy-Theorist, one might note that it's rather conveeenient that HHH had that injury angle with Kevin Nash last week, and was mentioned on this show as being out for several weeks... so he doesn't have to show up on camera with the Muppets, or share the show with the Muppets. Mind you, the argument can be made that HHH's character/image as a badass shouldn't have him seen together on camera with the Muppets. But if he's appointed by the BOD, wouldn't he have any ambassador duties or such to at least, you know, welcome them to the show? Is that John Laurinitis's job? I'm so confused....

Dood. Watch this year's Wrestlemania again. All those backstage Rock sketches, though similar in vein to some of his stuff circa 1991-2001, they're *desperately* trying to make him the heel, especially so in the backstage confrontation with Stone Cold. It *still* didn't work. They're bringing back Rock to pop ratings and buyrates. Nothing more. Hell, I remember being in the house for the Hall of Fame in 2008 where Rock went on forever and forever, and still had the whole building eating out of his hand. Certain other presenters/speakers made it a point after Rock was done to take veiled potshots at him leaving to go do movies at the height of his career. Still couldn't get the building to turn against him. At this point, a heel turn by Rock will go over as well as Austin's heel turn in 2001.

I'm watching the Bret/Shawn rivalry DVD right now, and the closest I think they will get to turning Rock into the heel here is similar to the Bret/Shawn dynamic where Bret was the heel in the USA and the face in Canada. He only obvious difference is there isn't any nationality involved here (duh), but I think it will be based on the whims of what each particular crowd is hot for at the time. No matter where they go there will be a certain number of people who are DYING to see Rock murder Cena.

At WrestleMiamiMania, Rock will have to make fun of every local sports team and his own mom to get any boos from his hometown audience.

Dude, NO main eventers interacted with the Muppets. No HHH, Cena, Punk, Del Rio, Henry, Show, or Orton seen with Muppets last night.

On the contrary, I think the timing of the HHH injury/angle saved the world from segments where:
-Kermit admits that HHH is more valuable to WWE than he is to the Muppets
-Statler and Waldorf have said a segment with an exchange like "You know what? I genuinely like this guy, HHH." "Me too, he's just the greatest. It's strange to admit that I actually like something after all these years, but HHH is seriously the most amazing sports entertainer of them all."
-Sam the Eagle and HHH have a beak-to-nose showdown

OK, that last one might have actually been good.

Disappointed that I have to be the one to speculate that they had Morrison and Miss Piggy in a segment together to rib Morrison and try to break him up with Melina.

As mentioned, I called the Vicki/Piggy stuff which was the shows best gag. Also totally called that the majority of the Muppet stuff would be with Santino and Hornswaggle.

Really wish they'd just made this a one off show and had fun with it. Really ticked we didn't get Punk/Muppet interaction.

They are also doing a good job erasing the good will they built with me since the Rumble by having Rock team with Cena "for the fans". This fan ass kissing is half the reason I'm not a Cena fan.

Well, that answers one of my complaints. Now unless Miz or Truth get suspended this afternoon, the Cena booking is still dumb ass.

No way THAT would work. The Dolphins have been so awful this year that their fans would be happy to see them mocked. No one cares about the Marlins or the Panthers. He *might* get some heat by mocking, um, the Heat, but then he'd be making himself a face to the rest of the country (where LeBron is an uberheel).

I think to get booed at Mania he'd have to say some positive things about Castro.

LOL at Dr. Unlikely's suggestions of a HHH/Sam The Eagle staredown and Evan Bourne Negro.
