Fascinating.

CM Punk missed his flight to Buffalo. Have HHH fight Heath Slater instead, or just have him cut a 20-minute promo instead of delivering the advertised match. See what kind of reaction you get. Top faces need top heels to work against, and vice versa.

Not sure who's arguing against that, or how it's exactly relevant.

You mean LA where they can't even get an NFL team in there due to their inability to get behind any professional team not named the Lakers. Punk's shirt was on back order for almost a week. Also, did you hear the crowds that are in Canada, Chicago, Boston and non-middle west crowds. They love him. Punk isn't the problem, its the dead weight of Cena, Nash and HHH. If the buyrate to Extreme Rules was any indication, no one gives shit about Cena probably even Miz. HHH is not loved by the internet and is showing his age. Plus, he keeps burying everything in his way, because he can. Nash is Mr. Irrelevant. The Punk story could have been amazing, but WWE freaked out, because thats what they always do and rush things. They are the Mrs. Flanders of corporations instead of children its marketing.

What you mean this? I'll give her a free pass here. Nobody knew what to think or say at the time.

That's the problem with employing a company full of 'Yes Men'.

I wonder how many people saw this clip, said to themselves "Oh man, this looks just terrible for us...." but kept it to themselves and let her make an ass out of herself on international tv because they didn't want to risk losing their jobs.

It took me a day to think abut this but

Hunter interrupted and dropped the names of HBK, Mick Foley, Bret Hart and Rey Mysterio, yet they’re no bodybuilders.

1) at least 3 of those 4 were probably on bodybuilding steroids when they were champion

2) if they did this bit a few years ago, they would've name dropped Chris Benoit in this list.

(This was all totally ridiculous is what my point is.)

Wait, are people really upset that John Cena has shockingly revealed that Alberto Del Rio doesn't really own an unlimited supply of expensive cars? Wasn't there a time where if WWE had contended such a thing, people would get upset at them for being too unrealistic?

The fact that everybody seems to think so many different things about the Punk angle either means it's so compelling that have to take a side, or that we've gotten so deep in the weeds in two months that we even forgot where we started from.

I don't even think Punk and Helmsley knew exactly what their issues were with each other last night. Punk starts a tangent, Helmsley interrupts with "So, this is what it's all about..." Punk changes direction, "So, this is why you are doing all of this ..." until Helmsley realized that they were chasing their tail and tried to bring the focus back on this turning personal.

If the two main characters in the story aren't sure what they are fighting about than how do we know what side we are on? A lot of this falls onto Triple H's terribly written character.

We know Punk hates Cena for being Cena. Cena fans go to this side, anti Cena fans to that side.

Punk vs McMahon. McMahon is establishment, Punk the anti establishment.

Punk vs HHH looks like an Underpants Gnome's business model.

Step one steal underpants, Step two ?, Step three Profit.

So, if I am a fan of cage rattling just who the fuck is Triple H and why should I care if we are rattling his cage? Because to me Triple H has always come off as some dickheaded jock who has someone bail him out. To you he might be a rebel crotch chopper, a badass, a Flair wannabe, or something else. The one thing I don't think anybody has tricked themselves into is that he is actually sitting in board meetings and is running the company.

He hates that people view Cena as "the best" due to being on top in the WWE. But he doesn't hate Cena.

Punk needs to come out with some sort of manifesto because last night he looked stupid. He basically comes out and says Vince loves bodybuilders and HHH immediately shuts him down with Mysterio and Foley. Punk SHOULD have come back with the bodybuilders get more breaks, but whatever. Since his big breakout promo, his motives have changed

-He hates the machine for selling guys like Cena over truly talented guys like him.

-He hates Vince for firing his friends.

-He hates HHH for using his marriage for political pull.

-And now he hates Vince and HHH for pushing bodybuilders.

There isn't a strong common thread there, and there needs to be.

I follow WWE mostly through wwe.com and saw this surprisingly well-written (in content, not grammar) article about the Punk/HHH story:

http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/triple-h-deconstructs-punk-argument

It gets into the crux of what's wrong with this angle right now: it's completely unclear. So, at least SOMEONE at WWE knows that and hopefully they get to addressing it in the coming weeks.

Total Agreeance!

I was also thinking of Eddie when they were making that list

The argument against the list of wrestlers HHH named is that when they won it was huge deal, because the company was full of bodybuilders or big guys with no talent like say Kevin Nash. Punk could also point that he had to win matches like Money in the Bank which is a grueling match then get the automatic title matches that Cena and Orton seem to get or HHH got when he was wrestling. The PPVs he main evented were against a drug addict who had no business being in the ring and when their feud was over he got punked by Undertaker then never main-evented again til MITB this year. Another old established star who barely shows and yet, he kicked your ass, Hunter. One or two of those should have been Punk's comeback instead of going from one thing to another.

I also think the article has more to do with showing HHH is the face and Punk is the heel. I doubt anyone at WWE would write that article to show the problems with the storyline.

Maybe I'm just naive, but I really don't think Shawn or Bret were on steroids during their title reigns. Bret was on the juice in the late 80s and you can see a clear difference between his physique then and in the 90s. Also, Owen had no steroids in his system according to his autopsy and had basically the same build as Bret. Shawn, though a well established pillhead during this era, was never a small man tank in the mould of Eddie or Benoit, both of whom looked juiced to the gills, especially in the last few years of their lives. Rey has already been outed numerous times. I assume Foley is your 1 out of the 4?

Unfortunately, the PPV they want people to pay money to see these two fight at over these issues is in 5 days.

Raw rating down to 2.7

While MNF has a big thing to do with this, they have to be worried that the CM Punk/HHH headlining the shows is leading to lower ratings.

As evident when McGillicutty and Lawler were arguing about McGillicutty's HOF father...without actually saying WHO his father was by name.

I loved the HHH/Punk segment. I had chills at the end. The real name dropping was a real holy shit moment for me. I had to rewind it to make sure I heard it right.

I want the feud to continue. Those two on the stick together is brilliant.

When I was at Smackdown they were sold out at least before the Superstars matches were over. I honestly don't recall if there was still Cena merch (pretty sure there was, although they no doubt have a lot more John gear) as Punk's shirt was the only one I was interested in besides the Broski t-shirt.

This show really was a letdown, the shine is off the metaphorical shiny thing.

I really haven't felt like Punk has been acting heelish, although I'm his target audience.

Not sure why I'm suppose to cheer Cena for knowing the names of cars. That's been his argument vs ADR recently..."You are a bad, bad man because you rent cars that you may not not the name of. I am on the side of good because I can name the car you're driving. $55 dollars to buy the PPV, please."
