They all have black hair!

Or you could flat-out accuse the WWE of racism instead of being tongue in cheek about it.

Kofi's still acting normal, Booker is acting like Booker does on commentary. Big Zeke is roaming about still, as a babyface IC champ. I think you should put the tin foil hat away for a bit.

Who could take out Punk with transition as a face as a champ with legit cred?

- Morrison.
- Kofi.
- Christian.

And a dark horse after the chants last night; The Miz ("Awesome!" "Awesome!" "Awesome!" "Awesome!". The smirk he gave was excellent, he can see the turn coming I think).

Because they figured out it makes for a good angle??? Sin Cara is actually the winner in this much to the thrill of the WWE. It was a botch but the WWE creative is smart enough to pick up on it.

Annnd there's this:

From WWE.com -

"Votes for the third poll’s bout — Kane vs. Mark Henry in an Arm Wrestling Contest — were counted correctly. However, problems began to occur again during the next poll determining a match stipulation between United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston. At this point, so many text votes were received that the system overloaded, crashed and had to be restarted.

With little information to work from, WWE management selected to follow the system’s earliest projections, which determined that the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match had been the people’s choice. It was not until later that it was discovered that “Vickie Guerrero Banned from Ringside” was actually the top vote getter.

Restarting the tabulating system allowed for things to run smoothly with the voting for the Triple Threat Match to determine a No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship going off without a hitch."

I think Punk is a talented performer, if a bit of a smarmy douche. But I really don't see what possible suspense there is in re-hashing the ROH angle. In '05, there was the threat of him taking a struggling Indy promotion's belt to an organization which epitomizes everything ROH fans hate. Here, he's going to take the belt and...go home? Serve nachos on it? So they strip him, and have a tournament...what's the big deal?

How is a guy named "Kofi Kingston", coming out to island music even though he's not from Jamaica, 'normal'?

And believe me, as much as I love wrestling, there's a lot of people that can be offended by their history and their product.

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

The Kelly Kelly back log makes sense, but I still don't get how/why the fans would have voted Cole in the dance off.

I figure Punk signed a few weeks ago. He went from being an afterthought to a winning streak, a promo with Austin, and now an angle. The fact that the legitimacy is even being discussed shows how good an angle it is.

Since the R Truth experiment is over, I really wish they'd team him up with Christian. Both have basically been pooped out of the main event scene, the tag scene is dead, and the had good chemistry.

But Kofi developed the Jamaican character before he was ever signed by the WWE. And if an African guy acting Jamaican is racist, then so is a Canadian pretending to be Italian.

Not to say that the WWE isn't racist. A good example of this is that no black wrestler has ever won a title at Wrestlemania*, with only three black wrestlers successfully defending a title at Wrestlemania (Rock (IC Champ) at XIV, Jazz (Women's Champ) at X8, Booker T (Tag Champ) at XX).

*One possible exception that I was never able to get a clear answer on was whether Maven is black and whether the Hardcore Championship counts as a title. (But I'm pretty sure every black wrestler in the world could have won the hardcore title and that would have just made it more racist.)

Since this thread is HOT, I had to read through it. How stupid of WWE to just have voting of A, B, and C all throughout the night (especially given the delay that Canadian viewers had). Would "Text 'Kelly' to 12345" or Vote1A or whatever really have been so difficult for the system to read?

I thought Booker was going to start punching Michael Cole in the face repeatedly after Cole just buried Booker at every opportunity. Perhaps Cole was told to bury Booker to test his mettle or something (seems like something Vince would do), but after a while it got really annoying. Cole is fine at being a heel announcer, but I do wish he would lay off going so far overboard on the sarcasm.

That Baltimore crowd was great...if you like heel-loving crowds. They seemed to love Miz, laugh at R Truth and actually cheer for Michael Cole after the dancing (loudest boos my ass). I can't say that I wouldn't join them in that, but I also can't deny that it hurt the show.

Hooray. Unfortunately Bourne and Mason Ryan still had the match and everyone saw it. But the idea that WWE didn't want it so it doesn't count is a positive if you're like me and you think Evan Bourne deserves a lot better. So they should get to have a nice showcase to sell the spectacular hops of MITB. Plus they have a week to work on their match instead of, I assume, that day.

I could be wrong (since I didn't actually watch it), but I think the delay was 1h15min due to the three hour show.
I'm actually wondering if the voting would have worked on Canadian cellphone carriers.

Oh, and it was delayed 1h15m. Thanks, Score. At least we get a little Renee during the Score Updates.

With the talk of Punk winning and then losing to the MITB winner, remember one important thing: He is facing Super Cena. Punk could resurrect the entire crew from the Valentine's Day Massacre to Tommy Gun Cena, and he'll still pop up, DVD Punk and put on the STF for the win. And, by the grace of god should Punk win, the chances of a babyface not named Cena or Orton holding the top title on RAW is up there with Vince holding Dr. D David Schultz appreciation night during which he tattoos the word wrestling to his forehead.

Man, I remember how I used to get so mad because TSN would pre-empt Raw, or would cut away during weapons shots or whatever. Now The Score runs Raw on a delay on a weekly basis and I just do not care at all.

I can wholeheartedly agree with this one. Renee Paquette > Laura Daikun by a mile. Also awesome was the baseball highlight narrator starting off with "I don't know about you guys, but I'm really happy for Kelly Kelly."

Oh yea it's a ton better having Renee doing the intros after each commercial break. She clearly watches and follows wrestling from that Right After Wrestling show they do with her and that collection of tools she has to work with.

Daikun always seemed to be doing the Raw show at gunpoint.

I think everyone writing off Sin Cara as a failed experiment is pretty mistaken, and not just cause I'm going to blog about him this week!

What I can tell you about him is that he still needs to adapt to WWE, and WWE performers need to adapt to him but he has shown (in my opinion) a lot of entertainment value, potential and just amazing in-ring presence... and im not talking about the mood lighting.

My friend who never cared about pro wrestling watched an episode where Sin Cara came out and now he actually is being drawn in... I think everyone is underestimating the power of being flashy.

All that being said, I think the voting glitch was real and Sin Cara did win the vote.
