As a staunch optimist, I must say...

That main event does not look promising. At ALL.

I like their booking of RVD v. HHH for number one contender. I am hoping that HBK interruptes the match much like HHH did last week, and the match ends in a no-contest. This would lead into a three-way dance at Armageddon and that keeps RVD in the main event.

I don't really understand the Booker/Jericho match happening, but it should be a good match regardless.

Hey 3 Minute Warning! Please try not to injure the greatest tag team of the last few years!

I'm taking a break from RAW. Just a few weeks, maybe after the New Year I'll start watching again. But for the first time since the early 90's I have no desire to watch wrestling. I've been a wrestling fan since 1985. I stopped watching for a brief time between 1988-89 (due to not having access to cable). I stopped watching all together around Wrestlemania 7 (partly due to the Iraqi sympathizer angle and partly due to college consuming so much of my time). I returned after watching the Razor Ramon/HBK WMX ladder match. I watched through some bad times until the rise of Attitude. I actually didn't watch wrestling for a brief time between late 98 and mid 99 due to once again not having access to cable. I still kick myself for missing the bulk of the Austin/McMahon feud and what should have been my ultimate mark out moment, Foley winning his first title...but oh well.

But, here I am on another Monday night, and I just can't force myself to watch the HHH show. Smackdown would seem to be the sensible alternative, but my local UPN station has a poor signal. Oh well.

Sigh. Thanks WWE and HHH, you managed to drive me away. I just hope its not for good because I really liked wrestling.

It's funny, much like Krakken, I haven't really watched Raw the last few weeks, and to be honest, I never really felt bad about it. It used to be when I wasn't watching Raw I was always a little curious about what was going to happen. Now, I feel like I already know what's going to happen, and where everything is going to lead to. In my heart I know eventually we will end up back at HBK/HHH for the title, and HHH taking his belt back. Perhaps at that point I might become interested again, but the show has not appealed to me lately. And finally, rather than watching and complaining constantly about it, it came time to just stop. Tonight I might flip to Raw during the commercials of MNF, but the main event holds no appeal to me, because as a fan I have no reason to believe HHH is not going to win this match. And honestly, there is nothing going on in the undercard that is exciting enough to redeem their main event scene right now. Sorry if that somehow makes me a smark who is too jaded for his own good.

I bet that, even though Triple H is telling Vince how Shawn Michaels ows him a job since he put Shawn over twice, Hunter will NOT take a job for RVD after burying him for the past several months. After tonight, RVD will officially be dead and buried, if he isn't already.

I don't think feeling like you know what's going to happen makes you a jaded smark by any means when it's been largely the same thing over and over for the past few months. What makes you a jaded (or down-right lemming) smark are comments like these which I picked up from a little message board on another corner of the net.

.. You mark. HHH sucks, always have always will, and its a well known fact that HHH holds down people due to his "influence" backstage, mostly its because he's fucking steph.

Anyways He holds down Booker, RVD, and other people. But the one that most people hate him for is holding down Jericho.

I cant believe you like watching HHH wrestle, he sucks, always has always will. Watch some ROH to see some really entertaining wrestling.

Oh, but there's MORE!

HHH's bad matches... I think you mean tell me a time he has put on a good match.

All of his matches are bland and boring.

HHH vs. Cactus Jack is the only midly entertaining match that i can think of.

HHH sucks... but then again... you said you're a mark so... whatever.

Any Smark, like myself, hates HHH.... not saying that you have to **holds a gun to you're head**

You must be psychic, seeing as how the match hasn't even happened yet.

I'm not saying that Triple H ISN'T winning, I'm just saying that it's hardly an inevitability.

As for the people who are declaring their intentions to not watch Raw, I can at least respect people who aren't going to watch a show that they clearly don't enjoy, as opposed to people who continue to watch Raw despite hating the show. (And if you say you "have to" because you recap it...well, why not just quit recapping the show? That doesn't sound too difficult.)

I'm a smark, but I try not to be jaded, and I'll be watching tonight. Even though I peg RVD's chances of going over at .000039%. The best I'm hoping for is some kind of schmozz to set up a three-way at Armageddon instead of a HBK/Triple H match.

I just love that whole "if you're a smark and don't bash HHH, then the Terrorists Have Already Won" mentality... I needed a good laugh today.

Okay, Triple H won the match(albeit only after using a chair), NOW you can complain.

I don't EXACTLY see how this buries RVD though...I mean, RVD controlled the match for the most part and HHH had to cheat to beat him...I mean, if he'd won cleanly with the Pedigree despite Shawn's biased officiating, I could see your point, but...

Oh wait, I'm sorry...logic and all that. What I meant to say was "Damn that Triple H!"

You might also note that once again, RVD was immediately gone and forgotten 30 seconds after the pin. How many weeks has it been (counting the Survivor Series buildup) that we've seen Booker, Kane, or RVD used to advance the Triple H/HBK feud and then tossed aside? Five? Six? At what point does the pattern start to become obvious?

And what's the point of stacking the deck against the heel, only to have him win? How does it make RVD look good, controlling the match or not, if he can't win even with the ref blatantly cheating for him? A token chairshot doesn't reverse that.

Oh, wait, sorry, logic and all that. What I meant to say was, "Stop bitching, you smarks!"

Patrick, the problem for me comes in the fact that at some point they have to let one of the faces either shit or get off the pot with HHH. Everyone has waited for years now for someone to properly give HHH his just desserts, and no one ever has been able to. For someone like Jericho or RVD, it gets to the point where the crowd knows that no matter what the situation, HHH is going to come out on top in the end. Just like all the fans knew Luger was never ever going to beat Flair, or Savage would never beat Hogan, it's getting that way with RVD or Jericho vs. HHH. Yeah he "just barely" got his win, but that's expected at this point. All wins on the top card level are just barely gotten. The problem is the ending is the same one that has occured in basically every HHH vs. RVD/Jericho/anyone else under 250 lbs. match since 2000. If you've been watching for the last 2 and a half or so years (let's say from the day Jericho won and then had the title taken from him) what possible reason could you have to believe that this time HHH might actually not somehow beat his opponent unless it's Rock or Austin or UT or the like?

Hey! To be fair, HHH will lose to RVD, Kane, or Booker...as long as nothing is on the line, and his best friend superkicks him first. Jericho though...it reminds me of the line AA gave Foley in Have A Nice Day when he got his first title shot, "I don't care if that sonuvabitch (Sting) dies out there, you roll his corpse on top of you."

You know what I thought of 1993 Vader as a mark?

"If he's so big and bad and unstoppable, then how come Harley Race always has to stick his nose into the matches?"

You know what I thought of 1993-1994 Yokozuna as a mark?

"He can't beat ANYBODY without Fuji and Cornette running interference, can he?"

You know what I think of late 2002 Triple H as a mark?

"He USED to be able to beat people on his own, but now he always needs Flair interfering, a chair, a sledgehammer or something else to win matches. Guess he's just not what he used to be."

Oh well.
