I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Rock and Austin get about equal time in the ring. But anyone else expect Scott Hall to carry the match for his team? Kevin Nash will probably work a minute. If that.
My guess is that they'll almost definitely have Austin and Hall in the ring at the same time. Rock and Hall. They'll probably tease a Rock/Hogan confrontation throughout the contest, but never deliver-- or if they do, they'll do it at the very end to get a MASSIVE pop from the crowd.
And Nash won't do a damn thing. I know from experience, watching him work only 60 seconds while Diamond Dallas Page won the tag-team titles for him.
Any alternative viewpoints on this?

Hmmmmm... maybe that's why Kevin was pushing so hard for the WWF to sign his "buddy" Scott Hall as well; if the Bad Guy was around, Nash wouldn't have to actually, you know, wrestle.
Either that or Nash thinks that he's still collecting those Turner paychecks that he doesn't have to do anything to earn.

Good wrestling on the show--ruined...RUINED...by backstage and boardroom shenanigans. The "acting" is becoming damn near unbearable.

i have no problem with hall, but come on, hogan? i know it took a lot out of him to get that belly to back suplex, but his punches don't warrant a decent performance IMO. i can't imagine how his match against the rock will be watchable.

Tell me, you did not just say that? True, Hall looked all right, but in one way did Hogan look like he should be in that ring. I can see Austin/Hall being a good match, probably not the caliber of what an Austin Wrestlemania match should be, but a good match none the less. I can see why the WWF wanted to get Hogan over Rock, but jesus why a clean finish. Rock, do yourself a favor and not job whenever they tell you to, its starting to kill your heat. Demand a win, like at Wrestlemania and the night after.
I can not understand what is going on with Raw. First, the dog angle, you know what others will say it for me moving on. Second, I still for the life of me can figure out the board meeting and their decisions. True, this is going to split the company, but I just don't know why one of the trustees or Linda did not pop in Raw vol. 1 or his NWO speech to show Vince at his worst, don't they have archives at the WWF headquarters? Lastly, I just don't know why people are poping for Hogan. I lived through Hulkamania too and I enjoyed it, but Jesus people look at him. Its not the same guy, he should be in a walke right now instead of a wrestling ring. This match tonight showed it, he barely got the bodyslam off on both Austin and Rock. I just don't get it.

| #13 Posted on 11.3.02 2239.23 | The main event was horrible. Hall was okay, but Nash and Hogan SUCKED. What was scary was that the fans POPPED when Hogan pinned The Rock. Suddenly I'm worried about Hulk Hogan having yet another run with the championship....ugh, I hope the Rock wins this sunday.
The rest of Raw was okay (minus the crap with the dog), but the main event killed the show. I have absolutely ZERO interest in seeing Wrestlemania, and unless they put on one of the best Smackdown's ever, I probably won't.

Some final crystalization of what matches will exactly be at WM
A good opener.
Al Snow winning a title.
The beginnings of the split.
A solid Main Event.
A good, if somewhat too long Edge/Angle/Booker promo.
Big Show vocally selling the Anklelock better than Kane OR Rock.
Just two segments that really got on my nerves. I really can't complain about that.

The thing is, people are popping for Hogan because people are not taking this stuff as seriously as some of us. People don't watch a Hulk Hogan match and point out the workrate or lack thereof. They watch because..shit, its Hulk F'n Hogan--Hulkamania, brother!
It's the same exact argument we've been having for years and years in forums just like this one all over the internet--why guys like Chris Benoit never make it to the same level as guys like Hulk Hogan. When you put the ability of each to purely execute the skills of professional wrestling, guys like Hogan, Nash, Undertaker--they fall way short of guys like Jerry Lynn, Benoit, Dean Malenko, and on and on.
But you know what Hogan, Nash, Taker have in common with Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, and other top stars with pure wrestling skill?--they have "IT." They have larger-than-life personalities. They have the charisma that draws people in. Professional wrestling has never been purely about your skills in the ring, and we all know it--but we continue to bitch and moan to ourselves when we see guys in the ring who we believe don't belong.
The argument we make, I believe we make purely to make ourselves feel better. We know that it falls upon the deaf ears not only of WWF management, but on the wrestling fanbase as a whole. It's the reason why "Rock, This is Your Life" was at one point (maybe still is) the highest rated wrestling segment in history.
"It" cannot be explained. I mean, what the hell is the deal with Freddie Prinze, Jr.? But he's got "It." I guarantee you that. Hogan's got it, Nash has it...and unfortunately, some of the best wrestling talents in the world don't. And they will always get the shaft in the WWF--because the WWF isn't looking for just ability. They are looking for "It."

For the first time ever, someone broke up Nash's idiotic framed elbow (w/crotch chop). It wasn't the kick in the balls I had hoped for, but the fact remained that NOBODY ever broke that stupid move up in WCW. So for all us smarks that complained and complained about Nash, Hogan, et. al. having too much power and what not, that little hint should have us cheering.
