What was up with the main event? Did Hurricane not kick out in time? Was someone else supposed to come in to save him? Or did Earl Hebner just realize that they were 10 minutes over (like normal) and just shut the whole thing down?

Ah, there's no better way to close a RAW than with a "BULLSHIT!" chant. Way to go!

I think somebody was supposed to make the save. I *HIGHLY* doubt Helms would be kicking out of the Pedigree. Hebner's hand never hit the mat for 3 & he never signalled for the bell.

The intriguing question is who will get the blame. I'd bet on Helms, even though I'm 99.9% sure it is unwarranted.

It looked like Hebner was looking for something. Then it looked like Helms had his shoulder up, almost by accident.

Wouldn't be the first time Hebner's fucked up a three count, though.

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

I think something was supposed to happen, maybe Nash making the save, and then Hurricane's shoulder was up. Oh, well. It could have been played off of by Tripps if he were to pick up Hurricane and Pedigree him again, ala The Rock vs. Kurt Angle at NWO 2001. Then again, that was Hebner's fault, too.

The blame will fall where it surely deserves to.......upon Jericho

I just assumed it was part of the whole "Hunter intimidates the refs" story.

There had to be someone supposed to save Hurricane....why the hell would they have Hurricane kick out of Jesus Helmsey's finisher? But then JR called it as "he got the shoulder up!" when he didn't....but then JR was reaching record levels of senility all night (that Micheals, he's....he's....he's a pyromaniac)

Oh great, now Earl is going to get a 'You Screwed Shane' chant every time he goes to South Carolina.

Over 1300 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!

In the issues of December 16th, 2000 to November 10th, 2001, we may have given the impression that George W. Bush had been legally and duly elected president of the United States. We now understand that this may have been incorrect, and that the election result is still too close to call. The Economist apologizes for any inconvenience.

I really can't see the match ending any different than it did. As soon as the match started, I told my buddies that it was going to end with Hurricane taking a pedigree from HHH. I think Earl was supposed to count 1,2,3 after the pedigree, and he screwed up and thought that there was supposed to be a save on Hurricane, so he held up on the third tap.

Hmmm....not trying to start a new IWC rumor, but Dave M. said a few weeks ago that he heard the Nash had something up his sleeve to make sure he didn't look bad in the HHH/Nash fued. Hmmm.....

But it was probably Hebner's fault. It is really surprising that things like that don't happy more often.

Should be interesting to see next week on RAW if they add Hebners screwup to the storyline somehow. Got to cover up those mistakes ya know.

The Torch is saying that Earl simply forgot the finish to the match, and was looking for a reason NOT to call it a pinfall, before realizing that it WAS a pinfall.

They're also saying that WWE officials are kind of pissed that it happened of course, but they're willing to let Earl slide because of who he is.

Why, who is he? No, seriously. I know Hebner's the "Senior Referee" and all that crap, but is he really such a good fake referee?

My buddy and I were in row 9 at the San Diego Sports Arena. We sure as hell didn't know what happened at the end of that match... one thing that we did notice though- Nash's "hot tag" was met with utter silence! I didn't believe all the internet reports about the crowd's reaction for Nash until now.... I mean, he gets decent pops when he comes out to his music- but when he tagged into the main event, no one gave a shit. It was sad... I am an Outsiders fan, and that was just sad...

I was there....When Chris Jericho beat Austin and Rock in the same night to become the first ever Undisputed Champion!

Earl's a good little soldier. I mean, he should have a job for life after the way he flat out lied to Bret. "I swear on the life of my kids..." Wouldn't want to be his kids. :)

Nope, although I remember Disorderly Conduct was another team at the same time. Turns out it was the Texas Hangmen (obsessedwithwrestling.com). Helps that they were masked under that persona and not as Disorderly Conduct.
