| #1 Posted on 3.3.03 2138.47 | I don't know about the rest of you - but I'd be perfectly fine if RAW just had 2 hours of nothing but Rock/Hurricane skits. Last week was gold - but this week was well... platinum.
Let's just hope the inevitable match between these two are as good as the promos.

Seems to me like a perfectly logical and likely RAW match between now and Wrestlemania.

Oh, and I didn't jump on the HHHate bandwagon until tonight. I mean, c'mon. HBK actually sort of cowers in fear of Jericho. Rock loses a debate with Hurricane for a second week, and STILL HHH has to make Booker look like a complete tool.
Booker should've responded, "At least David Arquette WON his title. It was handed to you."

| #6 Posted on 3.3.03 2215.08 | Didn't Rock say on Byte This there will be a Rock/Helms match at some point?
As for Raw, a pretty so-so show. No match was really anything special. Highlights were Jericho laying out HBK and the Rock/Helms sketch (although not as good as last week's). Austin's return, I'm gonna wait & see. The "What?" chants return, and it means another guy on top that will curtail any movement up the card.

| #7 Posted on 3.3.03 2217.19 | | yeah that was cold what HHH said to booker t, but it will make it all the more sweet when booker wins. HHH has acted scared of all of his opponents before this (BBP, Kane.. he was even pissed when RVD won his title shot), and this time they are going with a completely different approach- Booker the underdog going against all the odds and winning at wrestlemania. Now having said that, if HHH acts like this for the next three weeks and then beats booker at wrestlemania, i will be pissed, but i dont think it will happen. | The Great Thomas

| #11 Posted on 4.3.03 0024.21 | I think Booker T will beat Rock. Rock's job is to put people over like Booker, Hurricanea and anyone within two feet of him. I can see Booker beating Rock and Austin going coming down and saying yes then hitting him with a stunner. With Angle possibly out of his match at Wrestlemania, they need Rock/Austin to help sell the card.
The choice in a character sense put heel Rock an interesting dilemma. He has been doing well as a heel, but the possiblity of facing his arch-nemesis HHH puts him a spot. I can see the people cheer for Rock if does win which would revort back to face Rock. Its an interesting dilemma if he does win, but he won't or at least he shouldn't.

How portraying Booker as a complete loser 3 minutes into their fued and talking about how great HHH is for 5 more minutes makes Booker more "legitimate" is lost on me
Usually, when you want to put someone in the main-event, you don't want them to look like a flea=market champion. This is not a promising start.
As far as the thread, Rock's gasp of horror when Hurricane said he had a tiny ding-aling was the funniest thing I've seen (wrestling wise) in years.

Of course you're totally ignoring the fact that HHH is a asshole who likes to put down his opposition (hence the asshole chant that ensued), and that Booker followed HHH's promo by telling him that despite what HHH said, he was still going to kick Hunter's ass at 'Mania.

Yes, and that formula worked so well for RVD, Bubba Ray, Kane, and Steiner. Triple H's condesending promos towards them and complete burial leading up their World title matches was the first step to tag team superstardom!
I have no doubts that Booker will win, but making your opponents look bad leading up to a match doesn't help. Booker is a newbie on the main-event scene...he need credibility, not a verbal out-punking.
Compare this to the Rock-Hurricane exchange. Rock essentially did the same thing, talking about what a huge loser Helms was, then Helms hits him with the tiny dingaling comment which Rock emotionally sells like someone ate his first-born son. It's made Helms look good for both pissing off Rock and getting in a good verbal shot. Basically, I don't understand why Hunter can't help someone else along the way.
EDIT: As an example, I'll site Jericho being made to look like a total putz in the month before Vengence before he unified the titles. Leading up to No Way Out against Austin, and WM 18 against Triple H, he was made to look like an even bigger pussy which killed any heat he may have had, before the title was mercifully taken off of him and he was thrust into the dream of all wrestlers; tag teaming with Christian.

Im with you on all these but Steiner. I think HHH did all he could to make Steiner look like a threat but Steiner totally hosed it up in the ring. Cant Blame HHH for that one. As far as HHH goes in regards to Booker, just one zing back to HHH from Booker wouldve changed that entire segment. Especially after the nappy hair comment (which i thought was crossing the line.) But Ill take that for now, but Booker needs to get some form of verbal vengeance on HHH before WM. | NEO

| #17 Posted on 4.3.03 0628.22 | The Rock and Hurricane are pretty damn funny. I just hope they don't over-do it. It's just another example of how The Rock is truly "The Great One". This guy will work with anybody and try his damndest to make the angle work. Plus he gave me a new saying, "You're nothing, 100 lbs of nothing, 5 ft nothing..." That was funny as hell.
The songs are cool too, but can also dry up pretty quickly. You gotta give the man his props. How many top guys have made such a successful heel-turn? I think he had tried and failed before like the others but this time, it's really working. He may have to correct the fans every now and then, that's ok. We should all be grateful to see the guy in action.

| #19 Posted on 4.3.03 1058.02 | I'm new around here, but I guess what they say is true: EVERY thread on this board will eventually turn into a HHH-bashing thread...
As far as the original topic, I thought the Rock/Hurricane stuff was great. And if they do have a match leading into WM, I could see it being a HHH/TAKA-type match, with 'Cane throwing everything at Rock, Rock selling it like a champ, and really getting the fans into believing that 'Cane might actually win.
And did nobody catch the fact that the guy defending the honor of Stone Cold was the same guy that was "inspired" by Stone Cold not too long ago to change into the Hurricane character? And you guys say that the WWE has no continuity...

Are they seriously burying Booker T already?
Granted, Booker T could win the match and keep the title shot, or Austin could interfere and cost Rock the match and the shot at Mania, setting up Rock/Austin... but I smell total burial here as Rock goes over Booker T but still picks Austin for Mania.
