Just wondering: How many of you out there are enjoying this change of RAW into Nitro? I'm personally not too thrilled about it, but I'm will to give it a chance. Anybody else's thought? Oh, and which did you prefer... WCW or WWF? Me, I'm a WWF fan, and never really enjoyed WCW, so that's probably part of the reason I'm not too happy.

Why is Raw turning into Nitro again? Yeah, Bischoff is on and the announce table is in a different place. So what? I don't see Nitro banners, I don't see Tony and Brain announcing. I don't remember the Rock on Nitro. I don't remember Triple H on Nitro. How many times did Eddie Guerrero main event Nitro? I didn't see Sting, I didn't see Luger, I didn't see Hogan, hell, I didn't even see Flair. Just because Bischoff is on doesn't make it Nitro. Unless Eric Bischoff comes out and renames the show than this "Raw is Nitro" kick everyone is on is asinine. Raw is Raw. Period.

I would agree with you that Raw is Raw. But I would give anything to have The Brain sitting next to J.R. I would rather listen to him with only half a tongue than Lawler.

That and Raw was on TNN and so is American Gladiators.

So...Raw is American Gladiators!

Or, better yet...Rico was on American Gladiators!

So...Smackdown is American Gladiators!

(sighs) Jeff Hardy was in OMEGA

So...Raw is OMEGA!

Said it before, say it again...Raw is Raw. Period.

You need proof, here:

I WATCHED Raw. Therefore, it couldn't have been Nitro.

I gotta' agree with BobHollySTILLRules on this one. That and I STILL can't stop laughing at his first post in here.

Just because they're doing fresh new things does not make it Nitro.

Also, I think Eric Boschoff who seems to have such a respect for this sport/entertainment, that his attitude and love for the business has sunk into the product. It's refreshing when a guy like Bischoff is introduced and it brings a fresh revitalization to the product. And I'm not saying he's writing or anything, (although he COULD be the one whispering in Vince's ear) but just watch when he's on screen. He's so lively and energetic, it's great.

An open letter to Andrew Gilkison from me: Sir, I am no longer pleased with your product and thus will not read it. I am the consumer and your product is not living up to my expectations. I could open up an Andrew Gilkison message board and cry about it, but that's a waste of my time. In the meantime, I would suggest you work on improving your product. Thank you.

Watching RAW and Smackdown doesn't cost anymore than your posts do. And so, like a good consumer, I'm tuning you out.

raw last night was the best nitro ever, minus a hot shot main event. i can't put my finger on what was "nitro" about it beyond bischoff, but the nitro comparisons are pretty fucking valid. last night's edition was like a hybrid of both shows at their peaks.

the change i'm most grateful for is the apparent removal of "the commissioner's office". every time you saw bischoff he was out doing something. people didn't come to visit him in his posh digs.

the bischoff character greatly benefits from the better writing he's (thusfar) received in wwe than what he got or wrote himself in wcw.

As for Raw = Nitro? I missed the first half of the show so i cant speak for the whole thing but i dont think movin the tables makes it Nitro. actually now that the announce table is off to stage left who do you think is gonna be the first person to get tossed of the stage and through the table?

I agree with BobHollyRulesRant... I think people are blowing Raw seeming like Nitro way out of proportion as well. There were some similarities, but when I think of Nitro I think crusierwieght match, I think of lame 2 minute main-event with a run in, we didn't have announcers cry and asking for time outs when Spike got squished. Plus seeing WCW repackaging/ bringing back NWO & Horseman half a dozen times each, then DX would have been reformed if they took WCW formula.

The only thing that seemed late WCWish was Bischoff going to D'lo/Stasiak and saying we have a free 3 minute block entertain me seemed very Russo/Eric era thing to do... The rest of the show seemed like a fun show the moved well, with a great ring effort. good/great quick builds for Book/Benoit and Eddie/Rock for their TV matches. And a good way to put a nail in the Bring Back DX coffin. And a good start on Rock/Brock angle.

And Bischoff does bring a really good character. Vince was great but he overexposed himself too much(Is he heel boss, motivational ruthless aggression speaker, loving/vengeful father, pretty blonde kisser, like I said too many directions with his character it became meaningless) Eric is pretty fresh and his complete slimball that no one real trusts but he still goes around trying to be everyones friend. Even heel-Benoit looked at him like he had two heads.

You know what? Somebody's reading way too much "RAW: Fourth Batch Of Reader Reaction" from PWTORCH.com and regurgitating it all over anyone who will listen/read/stay awake. Come on, seriously, now...if a FAN of wrestling -- note that I did not say a wrestling "critic" -- but any fan can tell me they didn't like Raw Monday, take your vendetta against the Clique and the Undertaker and WCW and Bischoff and Hogan and Booker T jobbing and squash matches and Triple H and GO HOME! Not that I neccesarily love the aforementioned -- 5 points to those who can point out which ones *I* have a vendetta against -- but don't deny the fact that RAW was one of the best TV shows thrown our way in a while. Or don't, I could give a shit. At the risk of sounding like Scott Keith in 2000, I loved this show, whether it's 'hip' or 'smart' to say or not. Don't even violate the nightmare that was Nitro (post 1998) by comparison. Thanks...

Raw appearing to be like Nitro (commentators spot being the biggest) is on purpose obviously.
First, they wanna heat the rivalry between the two shows and second they want both shows to look different.

And this might have nothing to do with Eric doing more than being tv talent, this is just part of the plan which included having Bischoff as GM and making the two shows a bit different from one another.

hey..one good thing about the commentator thing..
this way we will only see announcing table bumps at PPVs and they become more special again.

To me, turning RAW into "Nitro" is a good way to get heat on Bischoff.

1. Move the announce table
2. Nitro Girls
3. Too much Bischoff

Ok, so we have all these changes designed to shake things up and really try to separate the two shows.
Now, what if the Nitro-esque changes are a deliberate attempt to make the show like Monday Nitro? And if so, what if the small changes are a subtle build to an angle where Bischoff *really* tries to make the show Nitro and take over. he could have a small slip of the tongue and call the show Nitro instead of Raw. would this be an angle the fans could get behind or would just internet marks be aware of the history and whats going on?
Could they, or would they, build to something like this? Or would Vince not want to have his show turn into a wcw show after he kicked wcw's can all over the place and bought them out.
but the nitro girls, or RAW girls couldn't hurt.

wcw DID have its good days, you know. i stopped watching wrestling after hogan picked the wwf title up from sgt. slaughter and didn't start watching again until the original nwo was in full swing, right after bischoff screwed piper out of the wcw title.

in those days i HATED the wwf because it was way too cartoony. golddust and marlena's kid was supposed to be brian pillman's love child? pfft. back then wcw had a "reality" feel to it.

sure the promotion died unspectacularly, but they didn't win 84 weeks in a row by sucking.

A "RAW Girls" dancing group would NOT be a good decision, I agree with BobHollySTILLRules. It would be just another thing taking up time that could be filled with wrestling.

I could care less about bischoff's character because he is not a wrestler. I'm sick and tired of non-wrestlers being the centers of shows. And that's why I hate Bischoff and Stephanie and Vince and all the other McMahons, they are not wrestlers yet they are on the tv shows more than anyone else. One of the reasons I barely watch present day wrestling is because I refuse to perscribe to this thinking that having guys like bischoff and stephanie "carry" the shows and be the centers of them. As of right now, I'm wondering what WWE will do in the next few months when they need to restart again. Is the Goldberg era far behind? The return of Stone Cold era?

Anyway, its hard to get behind all these eras and restarts that seem to happen so frequently now. Why should I give everything a chance? WWE pushes the panic button every 2 months and I need to give it a chance? Its hard to give them a chance after they screwed up WCW vs. WWF. The one angle said that no one could screw up. The one angle that said would make Vince #1 again. What a disappointment.

And no, RAW isn't like nitro despite a couple things you might find similar. In fact these brand trades and defections are starting to remind me of last year's InVasion.
