The only problem I had with Flair submitting to it is that Flair, of ALL people, should've known it was time for his trick knee to kick in and smack that big bastard right in the nuts.

They still need to protect the move. Having a 50+ Ric Flair break it undermines all the work they've done so far to build the Masterlock up.

If you're going to do that much work to build that move up, it needs to do things like put out former world champions.

I don't have a problem with Flair submitting ultimately. It might've worked even better if he'd gone for the nutshot and Masters either blocked it with a knee clench or managed to hold onto the move through the pain and keep forcing Flair out. But for Flair to not even -try- that maneuver seems rather out of character, at least to me.

This is the same guy that was bludgeoned backstage and escaped the local "medical facility" to be there for his partner? I'd say that's a pretty good excuse to not try anything to get out of it- he probably had little energy or low pain tolerance after that.

That's why God and JJ Dillon made Four Horsemen vitamins.

X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

I gotta say Eke, your hatred for Masters seems a bit overdone. But I got nothing to add to the people who defended Masters already. He can talk well enough and is improving, he can hold up a two star match with a two star opponent (more than you can say for Randy Orton or Cena) and he's been saddled with a craptastic finisher. No matter how hard they shove him, if he fails he'll get flushed ala our friend Mordecai or Jones.

I do agree with you on them not knowing how to use Jericho however. Because everyone who says Flair can lose because he loses to everyone needs to remember he kicked Jericho's ass pretty handily back when they were still treating him like an old man.

Despite that, Masters beating an old, injured Flair, does nothing but make sense.

You can begrudge him being put over guys they could actually use like Tajiri, but Hell, Tajiri's been getting the paddle from people like Viscera... and that guy sucks on a Mark Henry level in the ring.
