Vince should have shown a more competitive side and told Donald it was to make Raw free, but Smackdown/ECW will be still better shows anyway. I do think eventually the free Raw would have stopped. Eventually, a wrestler is going to bring up the paycheck situations and maybe Vince buying most of the talent away from Raw. I do agree with redsoxnation, if Donald had brought up Turner or Heyman, Vince would have tried to buy it back. In the end, this really blew up in their faces once again. I understand you want to get some publicity, but you would think after how badly they handled the Nuggets near the end, they would learn their lesson about good and bad publicity.

Apparently, after Vince said last week on Raw that Trump was buying Raw, Tuesday morning, WWE stocks dropped 7%. Vince & Co. immediately had to send out a press release saying that the "sale" was part of the "show". I guess this did not set well with the SEC and there may be legal proceedings being brought against Vince & Co. for this "sale", show or not, cuz it messed with public stockholders.
Hence, the fasttrack to Vince "buying back" Raw, and everything clustered into one show.
I just Googled it and found this: http://www.foxbusiness.com/search-results/m/23125393/sec-s-wwe-smackdown.htm | Oliver

Well, turns out I didn't even get as many tix as I was supposed to, so I had to give 'em to the people I brought, then slink down the street and watch the show on TV from the Stadium View Bar & Grill. :-( (Of course, since they were comps, the listed price was $0.00.) So, no. ;-)
We're told that credit card purchases will be refunded automatically, and cash purchases can be refunded at the Resch Center box offices this week.
Show was a legit sellout. The normally tarped-off upper decks of the Resch were full of butts in seats, I'm informed. People were still trying to buy tix at the box office after the show started. Saw one kid with his two mark belts crying outside the arena, 'cause he couldn't get in. Poor guy.
BTW, the guy taking the ladder bump in the HHH/Orton event was former NWA Wisconsin heavyweight champ Mason Quinn. How dude doesn't have a developmental deal yet is beyond me...he's that good.
As for Santina...LOVED LOVED LOVED how Santino popped in from the other side of the frame after Santina/Vince split. F'n cartoon logic...but funny. (If I had a nickel for every time I've schlepped a camera down that same tunnel...)

The idea that all of this taunting and goofiness eventually leads to physical pain, that at the end of the line there are severe consequences to be paid, lets the angle become serious. And that to me is key to making Miz more than a comedy player. Cena took him seriously and by extension we take him seriously.

That's the first thing I thought, John Deere looking gear. The second thing I thought was that he was trying to suck up to the crowd by wearing the Pack's colors.
I don't know if it was planned to be Viking-esque to counter Cena's green and yellow, but I loved the purple in The Miz's hair.

| #35 Posted on 23.6.09 1647.52 | | I like the idea on no commercials. Watched the show. Enjoyed it. They don't need it every week, but they should do ever 4th or 8th raw commercial free. Make it a Clash of the Champions type event. This could even lower the PPV's to 8 or 6 a year. Wishful thinking I know. Being a Football(soccer) and Hockey fan I enjoy my sporting events with little commercial interuptions. But out of 2 hours 10 mins it was 44 mins of wrestling? A second try at this with no McMahon/Trump would be a way better show. | ges7184

Just curious, but what was the point of that crew member taking the ladder shot? I mean, most of the time when something like that happens ... there's a reason for it. I was half expecting him to knock down Triple H as he tried to get up at the end or something. | BoromirMark

And I would agree with your line of thinking, except it presumes that WWE will actually take Miz seriously themselves. We all know...even though we hope otherwise...that he's headed for a 1 minute shoulderblock-suplex-five knuckle shuffle-FU/STFU squash by Super Cena, thus turning the meaning of the promo from "it's serious business time" to "Cena finally rolled over, smacked the Miz back down, and went back to sleep".

I imagine it's just a way to draw fans into the match, showing that these two will do anything to kill each other, etc.
That's got to be a tough assignment for a local worker though - I'm sure they told him to protect himself, but at the same time you know he's REALLY going to try and make his spot "look good".
