- One Day, June 9th (chosen because the week before the rumored Nash v.s. HHH PPV)
- The possibly of being expanded at a later date
- The petition just went up under a hour ago, don't be surprised that there's not a *huge* amount of signatures yet. It's worth a shot anyway, and there's six weeks or so to collect signatures and get the word out.
- Please forward this to your wrestling friends and feel free to pass the URL to any other message boards you are on, but refrain from submitting this to any sites unless you run them or know people on there since we don't have a critical mass of signatures yet.
This petition is really lame. Not that I enjoy RAW but a few things:
1. This is supposed to be a WWE RAW boycott petition right? Then why is it talking about smackdown wrestlers like Benoit, Edge, Matt Hardy, and Rey Misterio? Edge is out for a year. Matt Hardy is the cruiserweight champion, and while I agree he should be in better angles, feuds, matches he's at a decent place right now. But again if this petition is about RAW then why the mention of Smackdown people...unless Smackdown or all WWE programs should be boycotted as well.
2. "Vince McMahons continuing loss of touch with reality which has seen him approv or come up with disgusting angles involving necrophilia, murder, death, lesbianism, implied white supremacy. Not only were all of these angles horribly offensive, they drove many people away from the product." By this logic, Vince McMahon lost touch with reality a much longer time ago than now. Ok now here's what I don't get. The WWE or WWF I should say has been doing this bullshit for years especially when their they were at the top of the ratings mountain, and their product was probably more lewd and disgusting under Vince Russo's booking reigns than it is now. Why didn't those angles drive away people like Jeff Wahlman before or cause him to write boycott petitions? Jeff Wahlman could've better made this point by stating how these tactics and angles USED to work at the height of shit excuse me SHOCK TV booking but no longer and its time to try and focus on wrestling again in attempt in not alienating your remaining "loyal...for now" fanbase rather than focusing on old broken down stars brought back in every other week.
3. "On this day, we will not watch or tape Raw, not buy any WWE merchandise, and not attend either the live Raw event or any other house shows taking place on that night. Online newsites will act as if the event never took place." Really, why do you need a petition for this? Just turn off the damn TV and don't discuss it on message boards if you are that serious about it. YES! The product is bad, a petition will not change that, the only thing that will change that is by turning off the TV and stop buying the merchandise. That's the ONLY way folks, vote with your wallet and hit WWE where it hurts, this is the only way they will change at all.

Hate to break the bad news, but it appears Nash/Trip will be at the May PPV, thus this boycott will occur after the match that is being boycotted.
There is only one man left to save Vince McMahon and the WWF/E. One man who will provide weekly Hogan/Andre Main Event ratings for RAW. Baghdad Bob is your salvation Vince. www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com
Let us know when you get in touch with reality. If WWE doesn't consider drastic action when ratings are halved, then they sure as hell won't do anything because a couple dozen marks sign a meaningless petition.
If you don't like the show, don't watch the show. Give up. Move on with life. Just because WWE is the easiest promotion to watch doesn't mean its worth your time. If you feel the need to continue to watch wrestling, watch tapes or visit a local independent show.
As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?
WWE must be flooded by petitions in the past few hours
-Pissed off fans over HHH and friends and WWE booking
-Pissed off HardyGirls that Jeffy is gone from the company.
-Pissed off ME that sexy ring announcer Garcia again wasn't included in the new WWE Diva website.

Boycotts don't work. Especially temporary ones. But you could try to E-mail some of the WWE sponsor's and tell them that you won't buy their motor oil, dumbass shoes, or non-smoking products if they keep advertising with the WWWWWEEEEE.

Maybe the context of these petitions is so the sponser's will notice?
Also, you'll need ten times as many names on that petition that says "the show sucks" to get to sponsers as you would a petition that says "the show offends".

There will only be two things that can get Vince & Co. to take notice: (1) Ratings dropping (2) Sponsors pulling out
Well, the ratings continue to drop, and they haven't really changed their product all that much. And sponsors will only pull out if there's something that a majority of their customers find morally reprehensible, or if they're no longer making money out of the relationship. Obviously, Castrol, Snickers, etc. are doing quite well still with their WWE ads, because why else would they continually be advertising? Call me skeptical, but I don't think Burger King will stop advertising because a group of fans don't like some of the characters or the way the show isn't being written.

I have to agree with the prevailing opinion that this won't work. If you don't have a Neilsen box, you CANNOT affect ratings. That's the bottom line, guys and gals. I hated the ending of Monday's show as much as the next person did, but my thought is that we're just going to have to ride this creative slump out. If you want to make a stand against the product, don't buy the PPV this weekend. Since you can pretty much guess the outcomes to most of the big matches, save your money, and read about it Monday morning. Not getting your $35 dollars will do about as much as the average Joe can.

Um, if this "May 5th" boycott is known, why haven't I heard about it or read about it anywhere?
Besides, the June 9th date gives me ample opportunity to shill this petition and let it reach critical mass.
By the way, the WWE is going to get a copy of this (a printout), it's not just a pledge to stop watching. Also TNN, TSN, and a list of advertisers will be notified of the petition via e-mail.
We're now at 176 signatures in barely over a day (and I've had to up the number a few times while typing this reply).
Word of mouth is starting up. There's only a handful of "bogus" signatures. These first signatures are the hardest because some won't take it seriously until we reach a certain number of signees.
I checked out the site and while I agree with most of the comments I find it hard to believe that Jeff Hardy actually signed this cr@p. Odds are if you give them a e-mail then they will send you junk mail.
