I initially thought of that match, but wasn't it on Smackdown? I think I have to dig out the Austin What? DVD to confirm.

The WWE could put on 2 hours of Kevin Kelly sitting on the toilet reading a phone book, and I'd still watch next week.

Benoit/Austin was SD because I remember the spoilers about the 10 rolling Germans from that match.

They had two matches. Austin vs. Benoit on Raw was placed on the week of the TLC match on Smackdown I believe.

It was on Raw,that was the first one with 10 german suplexes I believe.

Also,it took place on May 28,2001. found it at...

The Raw match was where Vince told Benoit and Jericho that both were going to have matches and the one who impressed him most would get a shot at Austin. Benoit defeated Rhyno by countering the Gore into the Crossface, which was pretty sweet. Vince picked Benoit.

The 10 Germans happened in the Smackdown match, which started the trend of counting along on Benoit's germans. Benoit was getting so over at the time, if he hadn't gotten injured, there's no doubt he would have gotten the title.

I preferred the Raw match to the Smackdown match, mostly because it was easier to suspend disbelief. For at least a couple moments in the Raw match, I thought Benoit could win. It's really similar to the Jeff Hardy/Undertaker ladder match, except with waaay better workrate.

Rock vs. Cena really doesn't need to be for the title. CM Punk instead needs to be in a title match at WM imo. So, he could either defend against D-Bryan on SD or win the Rumble and go for the RAW belt OR defend the RAW belt (successfully!) against ...
