Jim Ross being set on fire was bad but Kane being thrown to his death was like 100x worse because there is no remotely logical way for Kane to still be among the living. At least with Ross there was some argument that he would have just suffered body burns but this is asinine and insulting. What is this 1995 with the cartoon violence? Maybe Kane will comeback from the dead to shoot Shane in the head then Shane can come back and throw Kane into a meat grinder. As JR would say, good gawd almighty.

Christian couldn't have come off more meaningless then he did the past two nights.

Just what I needed a segment with Linda, Vince and Shane then more Shane and we'll get more Vince on Smackdown and some Stephanie. McMahon-a-mania is revolting.

The show looked so promising at the start with the simple Goldberg and Triple H segment with the Career versus Title stipulation. No burning people alive, no McMahons (at least not yet), no 1,000,000 non-wrestling figures, no comedy, just two guys with a reason for people to pay to see them wrestle.

Two other small positives, Gail working the long submission was a good way to coverup her weaknesses and Trish sold it great that she hooked the crowd into it instead of losing them. Ric Flair was Ric Flair in Orton's corner and made that match.

Isn't the idea with Kane that he is inhuman? Wouldn't then he be able to survive that? I enjoyed tonight's show just for it's sheer over-the-top theatrical qualities. And because Unforgiven is shaping up to be a fun show (Orton/HBK, Shane dying at Kane's hands, HHH/Goldberg). And once again, it has to be stated:

COACH .vs. HHH AT SURVIVOR SERIES FOR THE TITLE

Caped Boy: Excuse me, ladies. You may remember me as the guy who came to dinner a few weeks ago with underwear on my head. My name is Keith Stat from Milbourne, New Jersey. State bird, the mosquito. And as you may have heard I am recently a crowned class B dungeon-master. So if any of you would like to play D&D today, please speak now or forever hold your peace.
[He chuckles, and there is an awkward silence at the table.]
Caped Boy: Anyone? Alexa!
[Alexa gives him a withering glare.]
Caped Boy: Maybe you would like to join in? We do need a druid, and you have definitely cast a level 5 charm spell on me.
Alexa: In your dreams, douche-bag!

Well, let's see. Bright side first. Nice straightforward build-up for Goldberg/Triple H and Orton/Michaels down the line. And the dumpster fire climax was silly, yeah, but at least it looked neat and it was something I'd never seen before, so I liked it. I reserve the right to decry it if it turns out to be just an excuse to hit the reset button and have Kane come out masked next week, though. Jericho and Shane had a fun little match, and Orton-Maven was a hundred times better than it should have been, almost entirely due to Orton's showboating.

But on the other hand ... The Dudleyz-La Resistance feud isn't over? Please, please, please make it end ... and no, Rob Conway taking a page from Chris Nowinski's book isn't what it needs to freshen up. Poor Rob, having J.R. retcon away his Velocity match with Randy Orton. Hey, I remember it, Rob!

Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak have gotten modestly over on Heat. Rodney Mack is not over. Mark Henry is so not over that Over has taken out a restraining order against him. So obviously the smart thing is to job Cade and Jindrak to Henry and Mack. Ummm.

I want someone to kill Austin. Badly.

"Hey, RVD! Nice job with Kane last night! No, you don't have to wrestle or anything tonight -- we're building Kane for his really important feud with Shane! And we're going to end the show with this really cool spot that we couldn't be bothered to use in YOUR match with Kane! Why don't you go complain on some more Web sites?"

I didn't really mind Christian having to wrestle Lawler and sell for him, because it fits in with the whole Honky-Tonk-except-without-heat thing they have going with Christian. And I like Evil Coach. But the whole Employee of the Month ceremony and such just ate up too damn much time, especially after the equally interminable Highlight Reel. I read through that one, glanced up about halfway through to see "demon-infested womb," and returned to the book until the brawl broke out. Don't think I missed much.

"I do have a degree in electrical engineering... from almost 20 years ago. Punchcard systems were just becoming obsolete, we had rotary phones in the dorms, and a modem was still a gizmo the size of a shoebox into which you squooshed the phone receiver itself. In short, we lived like animals.

The instant obsolesence is why I became a writer. The rate of punctuation in a sentence doesn't double every 18 friggin' months, and you never have some 22-year-old looming over your shoulder, shaking his head, saying "dude... you're still using adverbs...?"

For whatever reason, the ending with Kane being thrown into the fire was a huge "Holy Shit" moment for me and I loved it. And I didn't think for a minute of the possibility of Kane being "dead" from it. And I'm not usually one who jumps on the bandwagon with such segments. Shane's "Burn in Hell" line was perfect. That was just awesome.

Coach managed to be more entertaining in one RAW than every other WWE program he’s been involved in combined. Everything he was involved in was gold.

I love that Jericho cracked Linda (and me) up with his little jackrabbit schtick, but even Jericho couldn’t save the train wreck that was the McMahons. At least Stephanie didn’t show up. And how many excuses can Linda find to NOT fire somebody (or press charges)?

Belt vs. Career: I’ll go with Goldberg winning and retaining until he can drop the belt to The Rock at either the Rumble or WM.

I rather enjoyed the moment between Orton and Michaels. That was a good piece of mocking and staredown. I’m not so certain I want to see the possible match that comes out of it, but they played that well.

Did I forget a title change alnong the way, or is Molly still the women's champion? If so, just how is Trish Stratus standing in Molly’s way?

Wow. That Rob Conway can sure cut a brutal promo, can’t he. I was in pain just listening to him.

The Dudley’s jobbing to La Resistance is becoming as reliable on RAW as Big Show in the main event of Smackdown.

Props to JR for the line “Shane is tougher than a Waffle House steak.”

I really enjoyed the show.

For the cliffnotes version, just skip down to the "Overall" section.

FOOTAGE! of Goldberg being unbound (from post-PPV).

Why won't they wake up? They should really set their alarm clocks, 'cuz it's time for Raw, live from Tucson, and a Fashion Report, too!

Goldberg, in black eclipse-barbedwire tanktop and black denim, is out to call-out HHH. So HHH, in pink shirt (top three buttons undone) untucked and black slacks, belt on the shoulder, with Randy, in white shirt and black slacks, and Flair, in yellow print shirt and khakis. Much talk ensues. Goldberg likes to say "ass". Book a match at Unforgiven - Title vs. Career.

In the back, Trish bounces.

Trish, in black trenchcoat and red sparkly getout, vs. Gail, in orange-brown lace-up top and shorts. Stratusfaction to pin. An average match. Post-match, Molly, in black/white vertical striped shirt and black pants, does a beatdown. Gail's hair is REALLY long (and likes to get in her eyes).

King, in black/white squares hirt with gold swirls, and JR, in black hat and black "WW" shirt, bring us FOOTAGE! of Bisch from last night.

In the back, Molly and Gail work-out their differences.

Mack, in open hooded "Back the Mack" black shirt and black "Rodney Mack" undies, with Long, in red suit and black shirt, bring-out Mark Henry (not to "Sexual Chocolate"), in black singlet with blue slashes. Mack/Mark vs. Cade, in plain blue undeies, and Jindrak, in black "Jindrak" undies. The crowd is in silence. Slam to a pin. A poor match.

In the back, Lance accuses Golddust of a "Set-up". The punchline - Lance has a Golddust lookalike midget humping his leg. Meanshile, Rosie runs around - Hurricane follows him trying to set right the rights that Rosie is setting wrong.

Rock has a movie.

During the break, Hurricane educates young (and stupid) Rosie.

In the back, Austin tells a story about the PPV. Then Bisch shows up and says stuff.

La Resistance, in blue sparlky coats, black berets with yellow trim and black "La Resistance" undies, and Service-Man (aka Rob Conway), in silver undies with yellow stripes and yellow knee/elbow pads. Rob talks the typical anti-USA spiel. vs. Dudleys; Bubba in "Dudleyville 3D" jersey and black warmups, Spike, in sleeveless black "Dudley Boyz 3D" tshirt and orange/white camo pants, and Dvon in sleeveless black "Dudley Boyz 3D" tshirt and green military camo pants. Average match, with annoying announcers.

In the back, Linda is walking (without a neckbrace - must be a fast healer).

Hilight Reel: Jericho, in talks to Linda McMahon, in tiny checkered black/white coat, white shirt, and black slacks. Fuckit - now Vince, in untucked grey shirt (top two buttons undone) and black slacks comes out. Meanwhile, on FoxNews, Gretta, in tan coat and white shirt, is hosting a discussion about North Korea. Back on Raw, Vince books a match - Shane vs. Jericho (probably the main event).

Randy, in black "Randy" undies with hip bolts, with Flair, vs. Maven, in black "M" fullcuts, with Shawn, in black tshirt with white radiant cross and blue jeans. Sweet Chin Music to a pin. A nice match. Post-match comes wary tending to the wounded.

In the back, Bisch has a plaque.

Funk Master Flex? He's a real guy? Shit, I thought he was just a character used to sell LUGZ's Driving Shoe (for those of you who need that extra driving-support). Well, I can honestly say that I'll NEVER watch that show.

Bisch, in black shirt, black "something" cap and shades, and bluejeans, with a red carpet, delivers the Raw "Employee of the Month" award to Coach, in textured tan shirt and black slacks, and backwards hat (to the Raw theme). And Coach...cuts a promo? Yeah, all he wants is an apology. Um, eventually Christian, in red tights with black "C"s on white crests, wearing the IC Title, comes out to bemoan the lack of wrestling on this show. Then Austin, in black "F*CK FEAR/Drink Beer" tshirt, jean shorts, kneebraces, and cap, comes out to muddle-up the segment even further. Book a match - Lawler vs. Christian!

Christian! vs. Lawler. Coach joins commentary. One hot poker up the ass match.

In the back, Coach interviews Christian! Then Austin shows up and books a match - Coach vs. King for next week. Well, that's another segment that will get the "news treatment".

Shane, in blue, vs. Jericho, in ablack tights with pink reel silhouttes. Click. Cartoon Network for me.

Overall: This show sucked. I want those two hours of my life back.

It was pretty much implied when you said Kane's inhuman and he could survive it. So he can survive being thrown into a dumpster of fire for at least a minute but not wrestling offense?

This show started off real hot, nice promo from both HHH and Goldberg.

I loved Trish vs. Gail Kim, Trish pulled out a nasty little spine buster, I've been sick of her lately but tonight Trish was good. Oh, and Molly was looking pretty hot again, I like that look for her.

Mack just blows, Teddy Long dancing after the match was funny.

We get an ex-Tough Enough girl in the S.H.I.T.ty promo by Rosey, the real little girl that looks like a raptor when she walks.

Someone take Austin out back and shoot him, and why not have Christian, Bisch, and Evil Coach give him a beat down?
Christian and his "Peepalation need their daily dose" was pretty cool, to bad they stick him in a stupid "Austin no sells everything" promo. They should just give Austin the title, they put him over more than any other face. Evil Coach was great calling King an Jr part of the Village People.

They gave us the Lance Storm payoff! Y2j was on again tonight. Jericho with his "sexy beast of a face" line had me rollin'.

Some of you are mad about the Kane/Shane ending, and all that good stuff, and to be honest, I turned off the tv out of boredom as soon as Kane chokeslammed Shane and left the ring. However, wouldn't this be a perfect way to further the "Kane is a sick and unstoppable monster" schtick? Have him come back next week on Raw fine as can be, with no aftereffects from this week. Sure it'll be unrealistic, but when has that ever mattered? Used in the context described above, this "fall to certain death" could be very, very effective in getting real heat behind Kane.

Wow, I'm usually pretty positive about Raw and Smackdown but I just can't say this show was good.

- Christian stuck wrestling Lawler
- Jericho stuck wrestling Shane
If you're not going to do anything with either one, then turn one of them face and let them feud with each other. They have great chemistry together and that usually equates to good chemistry against one another too.
- The hype for Goldberg/Triple H was fine but putting Goldberg's career on the line just makes it obvious that he's not going to lose it. There's no way Goldberg's career is edning now.
- Shawn/Orton staredown was nice, HBK looked genuinely insulted. Unfortunately the match sucked. And Lawler saying Orton's super kick might be better than HBK was just idiotic. That's like saying he has a better Diamond Cutter than DDP.
- Now that I saw what the Lance payoff was I wish we had never gotten the payoff.
- I don't mind the Kane finish, i was actually expecting him to crawl out of the fire to end the show but again the match itself sucked.

Hopefully Smackdown can give us something better. If their smart they'll take my earlier advice of giving Eddie a title shot in his hometown this week.

I believe the point being made by fuelinjected is that if Kane can indeed survive being thrown into a burning dumpster without any ill effect, then he can't give his opponents any offense from this point forward in the ring. How can he sell punches, kicks, and slams now after not being affected by a flaming dumpster? I can suspend my disbelief for some stuff, but this whole thing is like a page from Roadrunner vs. Coyote. Maybe next week Shane can strap an ACME rocket to Kane and launch him to the moon.

That being said, HOLY LORD, this show was a giant ass sandwich.

-when Shane first came out and dropped Kane a few weeks ago, I thought it was a total dumbfuck move but I could at least kinda understand the logic being prevailed by the apologists saying "they're going to sacrifice Shane to Kane in order to build him up as a monster." Well, after tonight you have just your standard build up where you have Shane get in some shots at Kane, Kane get in some shots at Shane...and blammo, you have your PPV main-event. Kane is no longer anything special, just another uppercard heel in a fued with the boss's son. Why Shane is being booked in a high profile match, AND being protected in the build up for that match is truly insane.

-I am shocked that the overwhelming gravity of THREE MacMahon egos occupying the same point in time and space didn't cause Stephanie's ego to be pulled out of orbit and into Tucson tonight. Have I mentioned the 12,465,386,442 times the MacMahons have all turned on each other in the past 5 years, indicating why their characters mean jackshit?

-At first I thought all the evil-Coach stuff was cute and funny on the board today because it was so irrevrant and silly, but if they're actually pushing a fucking announcer and giving him a character make-over thinking it will benefit business in any way...

If not for last week, this would've been the worst Raw for me since Necro-mania.

I'll be the first to point out this odd tidbit - under Shane's jersey he was wearing a Highlight Reel shirt (what the?) You can see it when he's knocked out on the outside after Jericho's springboard kick and when he goes backstage after Kane. I wonder why he would bother wearing his opponent's shirt under the jersey when there's so many other shirts to wear that won't be confusing if exposed.

Um guys? Kane can create lightning in his hand and shoot it at people. I don't think a little burny booboo is going to end his life.

And maybe this'll lead to him getting the mask back on that ass-ugly face of his.

I was more irked by the fact that Goldberg uttered the phrase: "bring your little ass down here so we can finish what we started last night". Ugh.

When Kane and Undertaker did all that stuff, I didn't like it but at least it was self-contained goofy supernatural junk. Kane's been so watered down in the past five years from supernatural burnt monster who no sold everything and couldn't speak without a kazoo to just a hoss with issues.

And everything Goldberg has ever said in his promos comes off very gay. He's also like Michael Cole with his awkward wrongly placed "damn's". Although nothing could ever top Stevie Ray saying he was going to "Get in your butt" on Nitro. I believe the clip is over at www.ddtdigest.com.

I liked this show.....wasn't expecting Kane to go into the flames at all in the end. If anything, I was thinking it'd be the end of Shane after two weeks, just like he's always gone after two weeks.....

Only downside, I have a sinking feeling Goldberg's WWE career actually is going squish in about a month or so.....but on the plus side, he won't have to stick around and feud with Test until he's taken out back and shot.....

Okay. Here goes...

Orton vs. Maven: So, this is gonna lead up to Orton vs. Michaels at Unforgiven? Sure, why not?

The Highlight Reel: I knew it! This IS "The Vince McMahon Show!"

Lawler vs. Christian: JR apologizes for his shitty commentating. That there made my whole night. Worst match of the night.

Evil Coach: I can only hope Coach goes to town on Lawler. I hate Austin. I hate all babyface commissioners/GMs/authority figures. Except for Stephie.

Shane vs. Jericho: Best cliffhanger ending ever.

Overall... a decent RAW bogged down by Lawler vs. Christian. And Austin, who I will now and forever refer to as "Mongo the Meanie." Yeah. I like that.
