Somewhat un-newsworthy as go-home shows go ... well, until the last five minutes of Smackdown, when Baron Corbin became the newest name on the very short list of "MITB winners who failed to cash in." Definitely a shock overall, though in the moment it was fairly obvious because Corbin kept flicking his eyes back to Cena while waiting for the bell to ring. Just that one simple thing made it obvious he was keeping track of where Cena was for SOMEthing to happen.
Probably the second bit of news from the events of the week is Akira Tozawa capturing the CW title. I have to think that's just for Neville to win back at SummerSlam, but who knows. And finally, looks like we'll get The Demon Finn at SS against Bray Wyatt. This would have been more impactful if the bucket of blood maneuver wasn't just some random end-of-match thing that came out of nowhere. Seems tacked on, just a "hey, I know, let's do the demon thing on Sunday. What can we do tonight to get us there?"
All that said I think the WWE has done a good job of building up suspense for most, if not all, matches on Sunday. I don't think there's a clear-cut winner for any of them. I think Lesnar and Cena are the two "okay, yeah, they're almost definitely going to win," but there's at least a little bit of doubt involved.
Ehh, there's some TV left ... they could easily do a tape of him laying in a hallway somewhere and splice that into Smackdown on Friday with a voiceover from Cole and Coachman. "What the hell has happened to Rey Mysterio?
