Well Internets, you wanted the brand extension over with, you got it.

Now let the next stage of bitching and complaining begin when John Morrison and Zack Ryder start getting no TV time. I wonder who will get screwed over on Smackdown? Tyson Kidd is my first guess cause they gotta make room for John Cena over there.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

Not to stop you from being reactionary or anything, but from what I'd heard Del Rio had this night scheduled off for a long time and WWE honored his vacation request.

Now you could possibly say that they should've made him work because he's WWE Champion and it looks bad to keep him off TV, but then we'd just bitch that they didn't let him have his night off, because they're an evil corporation.

The Torch says Del Rio is clearing up some visa issues currently.

I really liked the Ziggler/Orton and Punk/Miz matches. Ziggler/Orton was fantastic, and the semi-botched RKO looked like it hurt like hell. Punk/Miz was almost everything you could hope for, except for a clean finish. But the rest of the show was pretty flat. I've never liked the idea of dissolving the brand split, and now that it's evidently happening, we can see if it's as bad an idea as I thought.

Thank God, we got it too. We don't need two champions, we really never did. It was fine for Eddie, Rey and a few others one of whom can't be named to get their shots with the title. Yet, when both titles are going back and forth between only two guys, Cena and Orton, what is the point? If anything, I see a lot of people forming tag teams which is a good thing. Ryder will still be on Smackdown for now and then tag with Santino and we go from there. If he is as over as the IWC thinks he is, he will be fine if not then oh well.

The show is strengthening my fear that they blew it with Punk. He got a rather tame reaction from the Tulsa fans while Nash got some cheers during his promo. You would think they would save HHH/Punk for Survivor Series or Mania instead of doing it on a PPV that will go head to head with Philly vs. Atlanta on NBC. Good luck with that. They should have let Punk run with the title and had ADR/Cena without the title. Hell, even Rock said he doesn't care about winning the belt just beating Cena's ass at Mania. Its time to get Cena out of the title picture and on to something else. Punk sticking it to HHH as the world champion is better than a world champ, who is not there and no one really misses.

They also buggered up Miz/R-Truth as Mulder and Scully if they are going to help the Cancer Man ie Nash. Getting Nash back into this feud as been epic fail day one. Have HHH send guys after Punk instead playing this tweener role that no one buys. Also, does that mean he is no longer COO and we have Johnny Ace as the new evil authority figure? Why? He is as wooden as a tree.

The sad part is the wrestling at least Punk/Miz and Orton/Dolph was good. The rest of the show which I clicked off after Nash powerbombed Punk, looked to be a mess. They need to stop and think for once on what can and will work. I highly doubt everyone in the writing staff thought Kevin Nash would work well with Punk.

Man, all three announcers were fucking up big time. They were slipping words all over. Loved JR's shaking his head at Cole, tho, during the intro to Inside Out. Actually looks like a half ass decent movie. Can't wait to watch it on Netflix next week.
"YOU SUCK, OTUNGA~!" Love it. Also, Fat Elvis Ass? That's all he's got? Lame.
Nash doing the remote thingy over Punk was aight.
Punk realy overdid the puking thing.
Not gonna say anything about Punk/Paul "Triple H" Levesque until after the match happens.

I wonder how devastated Michaels must have been if he watched the show last night and found out that he'd been downgraded from "HHH's Best Friend In The World!" status in favor of Nash.

In addition to Sheamus' delight at being popular with the crowd and doing the right t'ing by standin' by t'at fella John Cena - to whom he did, after all, once run to for aid against the Nexus - I also enjoyed he subtle character work of everyone in that segment. Cena's already been mentioned, but I liked Christian diving out immediately and applauding Mark Henry choosing the coward's way, and the look of absoulte disappointment on Henry's face that Christian had bailed on him, like he somehow managed to put his faith in Christian that quickly. I think it might have been worth more for Henry to have him actually take a step forward like he was ready to take his chances against the two of them, but Cena deserves credit for selling it like he was actually worried about dealing with Henry the whole time.

Punk is good, don't get me wrong ... but he's starting remind me of that smart ass guy at work/school that you'd just like to punch in the face one time to shut him up. I find myself slowly starting to root against him ... I can't be the only one, right?

Yeah, I kind of agree. I keep asking myself if there's a logical way that HE could be the one behind all this madness. Hey, he's shaking up the status quo from the inside!

Or not. I dunno.

If Punk was doing this shit to people I even remotely cared about then, yes. However, everyone he has made fun of I either don't care about anymore or generally hate, I am good with it. If he was pulling this shit on say Rey or Christian or Bryan, I'd be a bit pissed. So, I can see people's point of view on Punk. Yet, I think he has gotten a bit old in his act due to having to carry a lot of shit. Punk/Miz should be the programming their running right now not Punk vs. Mr. Irrelevant.

    Holy hyperbole, InternetMan.

So you are fine with the direction? Not fine with it? Disagree that the Punk angle wasn't the only plot point at SS?

I think saying this is worse than what became of Nexus when the angle is three weeks old and has an upcoming match that a)is surrounded by both kayfabe and online intrigue and b)has a shot being genuinely great is kind of ridiculous, honestly. Not to mention the fact, comparing SummerSlams to SummerSlams, last year's Nexus main event was absolutely a case of putting all their eggs in one basket.

I feel the same; if it turns out that Punk is wrong, and HHH is not secretly conspiring against him, then Punk has been a dumb jerk for weeks. They obviously want Punk to be edgy, but he'd be a bully if this was any other person than HHH.

Nash crowing about his contract was the first time he sounded like Nash and not like they could've stuck a Rick Steiner or Scott Norton in the same spot.

When Sheamus ran in, Cena prepped himself for Sheamus to come at HIM. It's a great subtle nod to the rivalry they had over the past few years.

This was good, though it looked like they missed something post match where Cena went to slap Sheamus on the back and Sheamus was about to give him a mean I Still Don't Like You face. Bad director!

Stole Hunter's phone, texted Nash, made himself a victim to screw over Hunter before he can get started as boss.

I agree with the Punk/Miz part (which still might happen one day), but Triple H sure as hell isn't Mr Irrelevant (at least not in the WWE Universe).

    YES!!!

I can't see them doing a unification match that does NOT include Cena. I also don't see how they could do it with Rock-Cena if Rock doesn't wrestle until WM.

I think this is the logical direction, too. I'd worry, though, about having each of Punk's big PPV wins come caveats. It's the kind of thing can start to undermine someone. Similarly, if the match with Nash really is off, they seriously need to let Punk have a segment where he physically gets the best of Nash soon, otherwise, Nash powerbombing Punk twice and laying him out with a forearm not only does nothing for the guy they're supposed to be pushing, but also ends up being one of those "Yeah, don't worry, you get him later!" into "You know, turns out we couldn't have you get him later..." deals that have cut guys off in the past.

The terrible audio on the HHH/Punk announcement was one of those rare production screwups on a major bit of business, so I'm assuming they have to lead with Punk's reaction tonight to sell that this is a pretty big deal match.

If I remember right, HHH mentioned SD superstars appearing on Raw, but not the reverse (or at least no more than they already do), so I think this title unification talk is a bit premature.

I'm 99% sure he was referring to Kevin Nash, in which case that nickname applies 100%. I find Nash visually absurd in the ring with Punk and HHH. Was there ever a plan for this that made sense? I can't think of any situation in which inserting him into a main event, top-level story has a good outcome, unless if he's there as an old mentor-type figure.

The CM Punk stuff has lost a lot of it's fire, but one great promo can bring it back. Once whatever the hell is going on now is done with and the characters and story regroup from Kevin Nash's influence, it could be good again. As of now, I am not impressed.
