Yep, it's gone. They had a pic of Punk witht the ECW title, (It's not a belt!), with the caption: "A Waffle House employee at his side job."

I liked this one better:

... and to top it all off two to three months from now when Nash has long outlived his usefulness in this angle, he'll still be in the middle of it probably being seen sitting on a couch backstage cracking a joke or two while people conspire.

If there is a bigger one trick pony in the business I'd love to hear it. It never ends well with this guy.

Categorically untrue. Plus, MSG cheered pretty hard when Diesel beat Bob Backlund for the title. Diesel's title matches with Bret and HBK gave them credibility as tough wrestlers, rather than just cagey/skilled wrestlers.

Wrestling is a business of precedent and implied validity. If certain angles don't happen or if some wrestlers don't get their spots, then the business (as it is today) crumbles.

In short: If you don't have Diesel's first WWF run, then the (initial) nWo angle loses its muscle--literally and figuratively. If you don't have the nWo, you don't have, well, quite a bit. Not to mention the effects the Clique had on the culture/traditions of the industry. Nash's contributions might be more implicit than explicit.

Finally, Nash's mic skills are perfect for who and what he is. He is bigger, so why should he trade insult for insult? That's why when the smaller guy strikes back physically and succeeds, it's taken (more) seriously.

This is all serious business.

Wikiers are stubborn:

I don't know if Eddie was part of whoever first coined "Vanilla Midgets", but coming into WWE as the Radicals with Benoit, Malenko and Saturn sure seems to lump Guerrero into that category. At the time it didn't seem possible that any of them would become WWE world champions.

And while you did need a couple of big enough names to make the nWo angle work (and Hall and Nash held up their end great).. well, just say that hearing that Hogan turned heel got me back into wrestling after about an 8 year break. The angle might have worked with Sting or Savage in front, but probably not with Hogan in the same company, since they'd have then booked Hogan into the Sting role.

This is what I have been trying to say or at least what I have been thinking and not been able to articulate Click Here (grantland.com). If the company, or at least the Raw side, doesn't come along for the ride this whole wave might end up being lost. He uses Miz and ADR as a prime example, but to me R-Truth is the line that is blurred the most. I think most people would agree that his character is best when he is straight up street crazy, but when he goes comedy crazy we lose what we love about the guy.

You can get away with this sort of thing at the bottom of the card with Santino and Ryder, but everyone else has to be on board to sustain the momentum otherwise CM Punk's gimmick is just that, just another gimmick.

The WWE can have it both ways, because of the two brands. I'm fine with having one of each, but the WWE has to draw a line in the sand and stick with it. I for one don't feel like I have to watch the next PPV, but I felt like I had to watch the last two or I risked missing something ... and really isn't that what it is all about?

If the thesis of that article is to be followed, one thing I think they'd absolutely have to do is make everyone less of a soulless corporate shill every fucking second of every show. The number of times each character says "WWE" or "WWE universe" during a typical broadcast is astounding. Managers, broadcasters, wrestlers, heels, faces: it doesn't matter. ALL MUST SHILL, NO MATTER HOW ARTIIFICIAL AND RIDICULOUS IT SOUNDS! It always reminds me of when Mr. Burns could only say "Homer Simpson", except shitty. And then a "Did You Know" explaining that more people went to 278 WWE events combined than went to the Grand Ole Opry Songs About Corn Special or whatever the fuck. And then a "longest episodic television series in history" reminder! And then breaking news that WWE is trending on twitter! Anything can trend on twitter! Hashtag #myballsitch can trend on twitter. They seem totally oblivious to how obnoxious and insecure this comes across to anyone who isn't used to it. It's as if they're afraid people will forget what they're watching. "Someone hasn't said WWE in five whole minutes! WHAT SHOW AM I WATCHING!?! This must be the Newshour with Jim Lehrer!" Christ Almighty, is it ever annoying.

So great that he mocks Miz shilling Subway on a website where Subway is a major sponsor.
It is funny how Punk and Cena are talking about things like workrate and characters and Del Rio is playing such a 2D character, he might as well be The Mountie or Repo Man. Like I said, Del Rio needs to do something different. The skit he did with Ricardo dressed as Big Show was fun- more of that please.

I am interested to see where they are going and how far they allow Punk to go with his comments. This week I found myself wanting the action to hurry up and get over so we could get to the promos.

With all the WWE guys on Impact, I'm guessing Vince and company doesn't want viewers to think John Cena or anyone jumped ship to the other company, so they have no choice but to remind viewers what they are watching every five minutes.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.
