the one negative thing about tonight's Raw.

Alex Riley sure has lost some of his appeal over the past few weeks. I think the WWE knows it also and that's why Riley got the pin tonight. And Riley REALLY, REALLY.. no REALLY needs a better finishing move.

I could never let anyone in the real world in on how excited I am to make this voyage. But I'm super fucking excited. The arena should be insane.

Yeah BUT he was the only one out of the six to get ZERO mic time.

We got an ad for the Smackdown taping next Tuesday and I think it's been forgotten about as they're still hyping appearances from all our favourite superstars such as Rey Mysterio (RAW), Big Show (RAW) and Alberto del Rio (RAW). I double checked - it IS a Smackdown taping.

They seemingly did a good job in building up MITB, with a long match and then a video package, but it's such an afterthought.

As Meltzer has said, the only negative of the Punk angle is that it's on a B show and one that already has a good gimmick.

Mark Henry very definitely leaped off the stage to the best of his ability. I have no idea why it was necessary he do so, but that's what he did. The dude who I am pretty sure DID get screwed was Drew, who missed the pad completely and got an X sign in the background while they were focusing on Show and Henry.

Punk is fantastic.

Aside from the lame poop jokes, the thing that really annoyed me about Cena's promo was him saying that Punk was a hypocrite because he was saying he was the voice of the people, but then was going to leave. Except um, John? You kind of interrupted him when he was about to AGREE TO STAY. A minor flaw in an awesome segment, to be sure, but Cena was just so out talked by Punk that the flaws in his material really stood out.

Interesting no Rey or Zack Ryder this week. I liked how Vince stopped walking down the ramp to look at a fan holding a Zack Ryder sign and just gave the person a laughing smirk.

So were we supposed to be impressed with that "fall" Big Show took off of the ramp?

Cena definitely forced out a Boston accent a couple times while talking to Punk.

When Punk tore up the contract and threw it down on top of the ramp, I kept expecting him to start air writing "T-N-A" as the camera went to black.

I think it makes him out to be a nutcase who is willing to do anything. And did you see how high off the ground Henry got while doing it? I loved it.

Do you think Andre would have ever done that? The problem with Big Show is that he has sold everything possible during his career so it's a no longer WTF moment with him.

Thinking about it, I should say I don't think Henry was supposed to fall like that. It's one thing to put one man through a table, but to put two men (and giants on top of that) through a table requires very good timing, and I think Henry landed well after Big Show landed, which means Henry hit the floor without a table to break his fall.

It's a shame that, lost in everything else that happened, "I have a megaphone" has not become a meme. That and Vickie's "Look at me, I'm Vince McMahon, I have muscles" would have won most RAWs.

The thing about this PPV is that, up until 10:53 CT on Sunday, I believe anything is possible. The most likely is still the most likely, but the possibilities are vast and enticing. And, at the same time, I believe with equal furor that come 8:16 CT Monday Night, it'll believe I'll be let down again and it'll be back to the same old. It's inconceivable that the greatness of this angle will or even can live past the closing credit of Money in the Bank - it surely becomes either less genuine or goes away complete - but it sure is going to be great for one night. You will not be able to recapture the same feel just watching the free show on Monday night and seeing the video package.

That's sort of how this PPV system is supposed to work, right? Not just really good matches that are equally or nearly as good if you see them on context on a DVD months later, but events you can't bear to miss. It's been so long since I've seen something like, I forgot how they worked.

Yeah, for me personally in the world of WWE and wrestling, It's not the destination, but the trip to get there. That's the best part.

That and the total disregard for Kelly Kelly's opponent. No entrance, no graphic name display, no ring announcer calling her name, no acknowledgment of her during the commentary, jobbed in the match and then totally disregarded after the match was over.

Overall frigging great show. I agree with everything about Punk. Just pure awesome.

Cena did have an awesome promo in the beginning of the show too. Just glad that Punk is so awesome that he didn't let Cena totally ruin the end segment.

Sold on the PPV.

This quote sums up wrestling 1000%. The trip IS the best part - the pay off sucks. But as long as the trip is solid, i deal withthe sour after taste. And knowing the sour after taste is coming makes it a little easier to swallow.

That closing segment was amazing. And it got me to really wonder about the PPV. I was sure that Cena was just going to do the superman thing and defend the title over the departing heel. But would they really let Punk score over the company AND get such face heat if he's leaving? I don't know...it might just mean that Vince has figured out that there's no one out there who can compete with him, so it won't hurt them. Hmmm....anyway, Punk telling Cena he's now the Yankees was epic.

BTW, I played BananaGrams for the first time at my gaming con this weekend. Good stuff.

Might be a joke between them, as Punk has been going off about Bah-st'n accents on twitter.

It's amazing how much "shoot" and real life situations they pour into these 3 short weeks. And make it work.

I think the Cena win is more and more likely here, BUT given the leeway and the AMAZING performance Punk has put in over the past few weeks, I also think he's made for life with Vince. So this may well be a short-term loss/long-term gain kind of situation.

"No...no...Mr. Superman is not home. I...I have no money."

You need to be a certain level of approachable to be that big and ultimately, that mainstream media-friendly. Punk is different, no doubt, but he neither has the movie-star good looks (The Rock), badass--yet down-home--personality (Austin), nor an "America: F*** Yeah!" attitude (Hogan) to be that transcendent. Punk is Piper.

Admittedly, I'm dense, but I'm still missing Punk's motivations and whatever the groundwork is meant to be for a double-turn. So Punk is going the hipster route and being all, "WWE is so corporate! Ice cream bars? Yeah, you probably never ate them, John Cena;" he's basically saying the WWE sucks. And the fans are, seemingly, agreeing with him. (Or is that because Boston is one of those towns?) But Punk doesn't care for their adulation, so if he wins in a double-turn, how does he save face? Does his win solidify that the WWE does indeed suck and that the fans are just in it for the lulz?

The difference is Bret Hart believed in his message and was more/less right about the changing tastes of the audience, but Punk seems a bit disingenuous. And frankly, hearing some of the promos and interviews throughout his career, it seems like he and Shannon Moore are cut from the same cloth (though Punk wears it better, perhaps?).

Again, maybe I'm just missing something (so feel free to explain). But Punk just reminds me of the time Cerebro from X-Men became sentient, except in this angle, it's the internet.

This is all serious business.

Seeing two fat guys laying on the ground holding their bellies while trying to hold their laughter over a blown two foot crash landing spot doesn't quite hold the same visual impact as the tearing apart of the steel cage.

I like Big Show and I like Henry, but I fear this match.

Really, that's what DVR is for. I think that every wrestling fan, if he/she can afford it, should own a DVR. This makes the process of watching wrestling so much better.
