TONIGHT: Live on Raw, Kharma will speak for the first time, and address her actions on last week’s episode. After John Cena beat Miz at Over the Limit and Miz has no title chances left, where do Miz and Cena go from there? And will WWE capitalize on Alex Riley’s hot babyface turn? WWE’s Twitter has advertised Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler plus CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio.

-WWE Open.

-The standard Memorial Day video package aired, dedicating this Raw to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

-The screen went black for quite a while, then I saw R-Truth in the concourse throwing around merchandise with no sound. Then a technical difficulties sign from USA, then back to more R-Truth, looking like he was cutting one heck of a promo, but unfortunately, still no sound. HE turned over the merchandise table and ripped down some of the merch. He pushed over some WWE cups at another table, then saw John Cena’s face on one on a poster and started getting the crazy eyes. He began to walk into the arena and then we started getting some sound, but it was off the picture, then they got it fixed. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were shown at ringside, and Lawler speculated that Truth might be behind the difficulties. Truth made his way into the crowd and ripped on those wearing John Cena t-shirts. The sound went out again and we only heard the crowd. Then we heard the promo but the sound was ahead of the video. There was a whole family of Jimmy’s wearing Cena t-shirts. Truth asked the dad if he thought Cena was better than him. He didn’t respond so Truth egged him on to say something. “What’s up,” the guy said. Truth got into the ring and said the fans have been conspiring against him. He said all the adults and the kids, all the little Jimmys, he said he can’t stand Little Jimmy. Then John Cena’s music interrupted.

Cena came to the ring and said, “we get it.” He summed up Truth’s thoughts over the past few weeks. He told Truth that was a fantasy world, and that in reality, Truth is off the deep end. Finally, the audio and video matched up, as Truth again blamed the fans. Oh, and Cena. He said they’ve all conspired to keep him down. Video is still blinking every once in a while. Truth told the fans to shut up, as he and Cena were talking. Cena said the fans are the greatest fans in the world and he sounded like he was ready to go. But the GM chimed in. Cole read it and the GM made the match official: Cena vs. R-Truth in the main event. However, no Little Jimmys allowed at ringside. Truth was offended by the joke and told Cena he was going to get got. Then he left and the Raw theme music played.

-Tonight, Kharma’s explanation for her emotional breakdown last week.

-Also, Kofi Kingston faces Dolph Ziggler. That’s next.

[Commercial Break]

-They showed stills of “vacations” since Memorial Day is the kick-off to Summer and in Omaha Nebraska at Raw, a bunch of people backstage were having a beach party. That was weird.

(1) Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler
Vickie Guerrero accompanied Ziggler, back to blond, to the ring. Cole and Lawler talked about how they buried the hatchet, and then Cole reminded viewers of the Kingston vs. Ziggler feud that was on Smackdown last year. The two former amateur wrestlers went at it on the mat. Cole talked about how great Vickie looks, while Lawler kept making fat jokes. Even at 2:00, neither man had really gained a full, extended advantage. Ziggler did manage to kick Kingston in the gut when Kingston was doing his series of leapfrogs. They seemed to botch a spot in the corner where Kofi turned things around. Monkey flip by Kofi, then Ziggler shoved Kofi off the top rope. Of course, this meant commercial time, 3:28 into the opener.

[Commercial Break]

Back at 6:59, as Cole talked about the implications of this match, which was nice to hear for once. Ziggler was still in control, landing a high elbow for two. Back into a chin-lock. Kofi made his comeback at about 8:30. SOS was countered and things seemed to break down briefly, but Kofi hit his jumping clothesline. The Boom Drop connected, but Trouble in Paradise was a no-go. Kofi countered the sleeper, but he missed a cross-body off the top. Fameasser got two for Dolph. Small package by Kofi for two. Dolph avoided the SOS and hit the Zig Zag for the win.

WINNER: Ziggler, at 10:48. Another title-holder goes down in a non-title match. Good contest despite some near-mishaps.

-Tonight, Michael Cole talks to Alex Riley, and promises he’ll get Riley to apologize.

-Also tonight, in the main event, R-Truth vs. John Cena.

[Commercial Break]

-Tony Chimel, announcing instead of Justin Roberts for some reason, introduced Ricardo Rodriguez, who introduced his charge, Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio threw it to a video package of the accident that took out Big Show last week. Del Rio told Ricardo to tell us what happened. He did…en Espanol. Del Rio said it’s fine, everyone makes mistakes. He said Show made a mistake and this is all his fault. He said that bad things happen to bad people. He said he’s a nice guy, but Show owes him money for damaging his car. He then smarmily told Show to get well soon.

-Tonight, a rivalry renewed: Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk.

-They showed a camera focuses on Eve’s cleavage as she was stretching backstage with Kelly Kelly. The two of them face the Bellas in tag action, next.

[Commercial Break]

(2) The Bella Twins vs. Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres
Kelly was in Maxim’s Hot 100, and they showed her walking the red carpet for that event in LA earlier in the week. Eve worked over one of the Bellas as Cole all of a sudden loved the Divas action. Submission move by Eve :35 in, and one of the Bellas broke it up while Kelly had the attention of referee Nunzio. Double elbow by the Bellas and a cover got two. Front face-lock by one of the Bellas as she attempted to wear Eve down. Suplex by Eve to get out of it. She snuck through the Bella’s leg to tag Kelly just over two minutes in. Kelly nailed the Bella in the butt, and connected on a headscissors take-over, then a stinkface. Cover was broken up by the other Bella, but Eve dropkicked her out of the action. K2 Fameasser by Kelly for the win.

Winners: Eve and Kelly, at 2:55. Pretty decent women’s action that got a nice amount of time. Eve is a Diva they could build around if they wanted to.

-Tonight, we’ll hear from Kharma about last week’s emotional breakdown.

-Next, Michael Cole promises to get an apology out of Alex Riley.

[Commercial Break]

-Back with more summer still photos, and then to Omaha, where folks are grilling in what appeared to be a parking lot earlier today.

-Michael Cole was in the ring and asked for everyone’s attention. He discussed what happened last week with The Miz and Alex Riley. Cole said he didn’t understand why the Raw GM, over the past few days, has re-signed Alex Riley. So I guess they’re pretending he was never drafted to Smackdown. Sweet. Then we saw what happened last week when Riley turned on Miz. They panned the crowd, who I’m sure weren’t reacting like WWE had hoped, then Riley came out to his new music, still dressed up.

Cole said that never before has there been an act of such treachery, such backstabbing. “Alex Riley…how could you?” Cole asked him. He said Miz was like a father to Riley, nurtured him, and helped him grow. He said eventually, Miz would let him fly. But Riley repaid him by attacking him unmercifully. Cole said there are impressionable young men and women who are watching, and he asked how he thought the fans were emotionally affected by this. He asked Riley how he thought Miz was emotionally affected. Cole answered his own question, and said Miz was hurt by it. He said Miz thought of Riley as a brother. I thought he was like a father? Cole said Riley was his go-to guy, his right hand man. He said he had one question for Riley (hasn’t he already asked like three?), and asked how Riley could justify himself.

Riley said he never felt better in his life. Fans cheered that. Cole suggested Riley beg Miz for forgiveness. He said Riley has no idea what Miz is capable of and what kind of punishment he could inflict. Finally, Riley told him to shut up, and said he has a big mouth just like Miz. He said Cole was getting annoying, just like Miz. Cole said he is none of those things, and neither is Miz. He called Riley a bastard. Crowd was shocked about that. As Cole was walking away, Riley grabbed him by the jacket and tossed him to the mat. Riley complained about everything Cole said about Riley, and as he did this, Miz attacked him from behind. Miz pounded away on Riley and jerked his jacket off. Riley came back and tackled Miz, exposing his pink dress shirt. He then tackled Miz as Miz tried to run away. Cole, back on commentary, begged someone to come out here and help MIz. Riley dove into the announcer’s area after Miz, then across the announce table. Miz managed to escape through the crowd. Follow-up was key with Riley’s turn, and I think they did a good job here. Live crowd ate it up.

-Next, Rey Mysterio faces CM Punk.

[Commercial Break]

(3) CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
Mason Ryan was with Punk. Punk planted the knees into Mysterio in the corner at the outset. Headscissors take-over by Rey, who then pounced on Punk in the corner. Punk tossed Rey to the outside under the ring, but Rey rolled to avoid damage. He was about to hit a move from the apron, but Punk distracted the ref and Ryan sent Rey into the ringpost. They went to break at 1:23.

[Commercial Break]

Punk was still in control thanks to the Mason Ryan interference prior to the commercial. Punk applied a headscissors. He sat in that move for a while, elbowing Rey in the head as well. Rey bridged out of a cover, then set him up for the 619. Before he could even hit the ropes, Punk bailed. But Rey dove through the ropes at him, knocking Punk over the announce table. Seated senton followed by the springboard cross-body by Rey. Victory roll by Rey, into a back-bridge pin for two. he missed a kick and Punk came back with a back-breaker for two. Both men tried to regroup at 8:10. Rey was set up for the GTS (but I noticed he had him facing the wrong way) and sure enough, Rey got out. He kicked Ryan away, and Punk came back to kick Rey in the head. That was enough to get him the win.

Winner: Punk, at 9:06. Another nice win for Punk, and again, a bit of a surprise.

-Cole plugged next week’s Tough Enough and he sent it to clips of Steve Austin on Jimmy Fallon last week. For some reason, Lawler got real defense and said he saw it.

-Later tonight, R-Truth vs. John Cena.

-Next, Kharma will speak for the first time.

[Commercial Break]

-Kharma was in the middle of the ring out of break, still looking sullen. She said that ever since she was a kid, she had two dreams: The first, become a WWE Superstar. I think she means “Diva.” But people said that was impossible. She said she went out for Season Two of Tough Enough, but Jim Ross told her she was too fat to be a WWE Diva. She said she took his words and took them across the ocean to Japan. She scrubbed the floors of dojos in exchange for training. Crowd applauded that. She said she moved on to every wrestling promotion in every dank corner of the world. Then, her dream came true, as WWE bade her welcome. Her other dream, a bit more personal: She’s always wanted to be a mother. Then she announced she was currently “with child.” Unfortunately, she said she can’t compete and risk losing the child, but she will be back. She thanked the fans for letting her share her dream. Crowd applauded that. Then the Bellas walked out.

They had a mic and made fun of her, with one of them calling her really fat, saying she’s going to get even bigger. Then they called her “not Diva material.” They said the guy must’ve been hooked in with a seat-belt. What, are they the new mean girls? The Bellas asked if it bugged her that she couldn’t beat them up. One of them started make a “you’re momma’s so fat” joke, but Kharma faked going after them, sending the Bellas running for the corner. Kharma said that in one year, she hopes the Bellas are still here, since now, she has a new dream. She then left the ring as Lawler condemned the Bellas for what they said, while Cole said it was honest. So they’re taking opposite sides on this than they do the Vickie deal. Not the worst thing they could’ve done with Kharma after last week.

-The announcers talked about Capitol Punishment, and again, we saw the lame Barack Obama video. For some reason, the announcers acted like this was the first time they were throwing it to this video. This was actually a different video, but same idea as the first one. At least the payoff joke was a little better. Cole read the guest list of those in Washington who have been invited.

-Tonight, R-Truth vs. John Cena.

[Commercial Break]

-The first two still pictures from earlier tonight were shown. This time, the guys were playing “beach volleyball” on cement in the parking lot.

(4) Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne
This is a rematch from last week. Big boot to the chin of Bourne, then Swagger choked Bourne with his knee. Cole put Swagger on the same level of Alex Riley for being a trader. The two men tumbled over the top and to ringside in a scary-looking spill. Swagger rammed Bourne back-first into the apron. Back in the ring, clothesline by Swagger. Cover got two at 1:16. Swagger did push-ups on Bourne’s back before stretching his neck. He dropped the knee onto Evan’s chest, then posed for the crowd. Lawler made a joke about if you put a diploma from Oklahoma on the dashboard of your car, you can park in a handicap spot. Swagger tried a suplex, but Bourne rolled through and got the win.

Winner: Bourne, at 3:13. Swagger was totally squashing Bourne, so while he got the win, it was clearly positioned as a fluke.

-R-Truth was backstage talking to himself. They switched to John Cena walking backstage. He came upon Zack Ryder, also holding some sort of title belt (probably tune in to his Youtube show for details) while filming on a camera phone, and they bumped knuckles as Cena continued walking.

[Commercial Break]

(5) R-Truth vs. John Cena
They replayed some of Truth’s antics from earlier tonight when the audio was out. Match began right at 11:00 EST. Truth grabbed a side headlock and yelled, “I got him now!” Once Cena got out, Truth went to ringside. Truth yelled at fans at ringside, then got back into the ring at the 50 second mark. Truth went on offense against Cena and argued with referee Scott Armstrong. Cena sent Truth into the buckle and bulldogged him. However, Truth again went to ringside. He yelled at more fans. Back in the ring at 1:58 of the match. Dueling Cena chants. Truth was loving it and had a great reaction to it. Front suplex by Cena then the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Again, Truth escaped to lower ground. More fan interaction. Truth back in at 3:10. He walked into an AA attempt, but Truth bailed over the top rope. Truth went through the crowd and Cena followed him. He brought him back over, but Truth decked Cena. He ran back into the ring as the official continued counting. He reached ten and Truth won.

Winner, via count-out: R-Truth, at 4:00.

Truth celebrated and went through the crowd, back to the family he was tormenting earlier. He took a drink from the cup and tossed the rest of it on the dad, then ran off. Cena ran through the crowd and apologized to the dude. After a replay, Cena gave him one of his arm-bands as the show went off the air.

So I take it we'll have some job openings on the WWE production crew by the end of tomorrow. That looked like R-Truth's promo of a lifetime and technical difficulties murdered it. There really IS a conspiracy against poor Truth!

Dammit, WWE, just because we haven't seen it yet in 2011, it doesn't mean that Kofi Kingston/Dolph Ziggler is suddenly a fresh match. It doesn't erase the fact that we saw it a million times in 2010! And God help us all, we have YET ANOTHER installment to go between these two! So glad we had the draft...yadda yadda yadda...

That was actually some nice damage control with Kharma. It makes her into a total babyface when she (eventually) comes back, so I doubt that's what they intended when she first got here, but...pregnancies happen.

While I'm stick to death of Kofi/Dolph, I don't think I'll ever get sick of Punk/Rey. At least their match looked like they were doing something different, aside from Mysterio's normal babyface comebacks.

That was a LAAAAAAME finish to the main event. Truth needed to give Cena a Morrison-style beatdown, not play ring-around-the-rosey for a COR finish.

I don't expect this Alex Riley push to last very long, but that's some AWESOME theme music they gave him.

You know, I've got a pretty high tolerance when it comes to what I'll put up with in wrestling, but man am I sick of "you're fat" being the go to issue/insult when it comes to divas. Especially when a half hour earlier Lawler was burying a visibly slimmed down Vickie. I know, I know, she got the last word and made the Bella's flinch and whatever, but it was unnecessary, and really killed what I thought was an otherwise classy segment. Plus the actual last word was Cole calling the Bellas "honest".

Bummer about the technical difficulties, that looked like one heck of a Truth promo.

What was up with the burying of Nebraska all night?

A lot of class shown by the WWE tonight by letting Kharma cut that promo. And it was a good one too. Shows they are going to be behind her 100 percent during this pregnancy instead of just letting her go. Good move.

I'm sure they will play an angle next week where Truth will claim a conspiracy.

And what was it with the WWE putting down Omaha so much tonight?

So nice job bringing up Kharma's two dreams, but ... they didn't really tie them together and explain why she broke down in tears last week. Did she forget part of her story? I expected something like "and I took out my anger at Jim Ross on all the thin, hot Divas who aren't half the Superstar I am" to explain her actions prior to last week, and then "so when one dream butted heads with another, I just broke down" to explain her tears. But she didn't even bring up crying or why she cried. Odd.

The opening of RAW was very WCW with all the technical difficulties, I mean at one point my TV sound was 20 seconds ahead of the picture itself. I like how Vince decided to make fun of Omaha. I loved the Bella twins as heel(Bitches).

I wouldn't be surprised if there were some rewrites for Kharma during the past week to take it away from a "they are so pretty and I'm not".

They did as much as they could to redeem last week and send Kharma off strong. If they can pace things right, they can have the crowd begging for Kharma to return and murder the Bellas a year from now.

Alex Riley did surprisingly well, and I can't believe his face run is working as well as it is. I've always thought the guy was a waste, so good for him.

It's got to be tough to be told by Jim Ross of all people that you're too fat for anything, considering he was this close to being too fat to live. That's like Lindsay Lohan scolding you for drinking too much. It was a classy send off for Kong, but it did effectively turn her babyface and I'm not sure what you do with her as a babyface in "a year". She's the female King Kong Bundy, for eff's sakes. I also don't see how she can be a wrestler when the child is three months old. Is she going to take the tyke on the road with her? Surely she doesn't want to get chopped while she's nursing. Also, wouldn't it be awesome if Mark Henry was the father? The kid would be so fat, the doctors would have to deliver it by D-section.

Also, I saw the CM Punk/Rey match. They can't have a bad one. However, it was really, really unfortunate to have Punk sit down in front of Ryan after the match. Mason Ryan's junk just to the right of Punk's smiling face is a creepy juxtaposition I coulda done without.

The Kharma segment (up until the Bellas came out) didn't sound scripted at all. It reminded me of Edge's first retirement speech - like they just gave her a mic and said "go say what you want about this." It didn't address the angle from last week and didn't fit her established character, but it also didn't sound like everyone else's promos. Plus she said "wrestling" on purpose.

Please elaborate. I want to know how she only has three variations of a splash and is demanding of a five count.

Other than that, I completely agree with the comments about JR.

Punk.

Truth.

Wasn't there a rumor that the Bella's were men? (sorry Johnny O)

Why hasn't Truth played the "misappropriation of black culture" card yet? Right there. Little Johnny, Medium Johnny, and Big Johnny are prime examples.

Swagger has Popeye face when he gets frustrated.

She explained it perfectly. She said It was her dream to be in the WWE and she spent years in crappy organizations to earn her way there. Aka : She was upset that her chance for now in the WWE has taken a huge detour.

No need for her to explain further. The segment was done perfectly and in a year when the Bella's are faces again, Kong will be a monster heel to squash them.

I loved the dad calmly continuing to eat from his box of DOTS while Truth was berating him and his family.

"Hey, would you be our plant tonight? We'll give you floor seats and put you on TV."
"Nah, man, I'm cool up here in the upper deck with my kids. I'm not sure I wanna wear that T-shirt either."
"What if we pay for any items from the concession stand for you all night?"
"Well... a box of DOTS *did* catch my eye....tell you what, make sure I also get a bucket of popcorn during the overrun and I'll let you exploit my children."

Regarding Kharma they were faced with two choices: write her out in hokey pro-wrestling fashion, pretend she doesn't exist for a year then bring her back as monster heelio, OR go the route they chose. Now, she's pregnant, and unless she's going on a total media blackout there'll be Tweets/Facebook updates/pictures of the ongoing pregnancy, birth and new baby Kharmette. To me, turning her face and going "real" with the reason she's taking time off is a far smarter, less insulting way of acknowledging her disappearance. Intellectually as wrestling fans you can posit scenarios where she has a cincer block dropped on her or whatever as a way of maintaining the storyline, but here it just makes more sense to build to her return this way. Even if she does a quick squash of the Bellas then goes back to being a rampaging heel, it's minimal damage done.

The best moment all night: Punk's headscissors on Rey Rey, where he did the finger-wagging "ah ah ah!" Can we get an animated GIF of that? But NOT see Mason Ryan's crotch?

I thought the Kharma promo was as classy and respectful as it was gonna get.

Maybe the technical glitches were because their crew was too busy playing volleyball in the parking lot?

Cena walking by the end of the Z! True Long Island story from later this week was a time paradox. I like the slow background build to the Ryder/Cena Allied Powers (world and internet).

Keeping it up with Vickie and her tight dresses is a bizarre form of denial, but I think it's appropriate heel stuff for a lady who's whole deal is she's not a skinny model and would destroy them, and had just talked about being told she was too fat for WWE.
