I dunno. If Kelly doesn't replace Snooki it does stink a little, but then Snooki's not subbing for Rey Mysterio in this equation. In terms of match quality I'd imagine her addition makes very little difference to how good it will be, so it's kind of a non-factor.
I guess the good thing about Snooki being with this group, it means Big Show doesn't have to lay down to her. While I agree Kelly Kelly is no Rey, it does suck for Kelly not to be in a match like that unless she is getting a shot at the divas' title. However, I think the mixed tag match is probably more high profile then the divas' championship match which says more about the divas' title then anything else as well as the people involved in the mixed tag. It also stings a bit that Trish's return has amounted to this instead of building up Beth or Natalya to face her at Mania.

Snooki is actually the famous one though. I'm kind of embarrassed for Morrison and Ziggler being setup guys for Snooki highspots, but they do get to be in a higher profile match.

If Undertaker can use both his arms I would say current UT is a lot better than 2001's. In better shape, works harder, better psychology.

I think it's as simple as, "WWE made her look better on Raw than TNA made their Jersey Shore guest stars look." I mean, the crowd booed Snooki at the beginning and were cheering her and chanting her name by the end. Plus, WM has always been (well, lately) about celebrity involvement, so no surprise here.
I just don't think you can keep saying "well TNA did this and everyone hated it but WWE does it and people love it" (like when WWE brought back Nash and Booker). This stuff isn't happening in a vacuum, so there IS a difference.
For me, I just don't want to see Snooki in any way, shape, or form. Especially not "SNOOKI MANIA". And the thought of even a tiny fraction of my share of the WrestleMania PPV cost contributing to Snooki's payoff so she can keep being Snooki kind of sickens me. I've never been so turned off by a celebrity at WrestleMania before.
As someone who worked with the Jersey Shore cast all summer long in Seaside Heights I am SO EXCITED to see Snooki on Raw AND in a match at Wrestlemania. My only regret is that they stuck John Morrison in the match instead of Zack Ryder. WWWYKI.
I feel you, John, but you can't miss Michael Cole's Finest Hour over the presence of an obnoxious D-list celebrity wrestling for ninety seconds or so. You just can't! He wants you watching. He NEEDS you watching.
I don't really recall this board being up in arms about the Jersey Shore's TNA involvement either, so that's a mighty flamable straw man being propped up by lotjx.
By the way, where is Kelly Kelly? This whole thing started with her attacking Vickie Guerrero at Royal Rumble and had seeds even before then with her endless feud with LayCool on Smackdown. Then she disappeared from Smackdown shortly after being rehired and main eventing again with Edge. The Drew McIntyre storyline was dropped. And now she's completely out of the equation as a new angle has been shotgunned around Snooki, Trish, LayCool, Vickie, with Dolph and Morrison as token men involved.
I guess my question is: At what point did Kelly Kelly become superfluous in this equation. When they found they could get a deal with Snooki, did WWE then look over their options, decide Snooki could be a face, and decide Kelly could be expendable when they have Trish Stratus on board and ready to go? Is there another reason Kelly has been phased out of television so soon after rehiring her and putting her in main event angles? Or is it just business, the way things go as WrestleMania builds closer, that priorities inevitably shift and certain players just get kicked to the wayside as the way things go?
MVP just Tweeted:
The305MVP MVP "@machismogringo: @The305MVP probably should have stayed in the wwe huh" R u serious? Snooki is in WRESTLEMANIA. I'll take the quakes!!!

The Impactzone also cheered for Angelina doing almost the exact same moves Snooki did Layla when she confronted Cookie. I also think saying the most popular Jersey Shore member is like saying she is the skinny kid at fat camp. While I sorta of agree with you on Nash and Booker mainly due to the fact that WWE was smart enough to not build Smackdown around them unlike what TNA would have done. This was pretty much the same segment as TNA's first stint with Jersey Shore down to the catfight. Its apples to apples at this point and to me it shows a bit of biased. Yet, its good to see I am not alone thinking Snooki being in this thing is not a good thing.

oh God oh God oh God
Just because I think it bears repeating, here's Kidbrooklyn's final paragraph from earlier in the thread:
Originally posted by KidbrooklynJesus Christ, let it go for a second. We have a card that makes sense (for the most part), proper building with emotion and story. Hopefully the work will be good because I'm all in. And I haven't felt that way in a very long time about wwe.
You gotta pick your battles sometimes. WWE is doing a lot right in the build-up to this WrestleMania, and most importantly they're making a genuine effort to feature new people and fresh stars. I think it's a good idea to support that in the hopes of seeing further efforts being made, instead of focusing on one very small, very orange negative.
I hate Snooki as much as the next guy, but she's going to garner some mainstream press for WWE and I'm okay with that.
I've always kinda dig the Miz, but I think he went to another level tonight ... just outstanding ... now I have now doubt who the clear-cut #1 heel in the company is ...
And I can't really add anything to the Cole/JR/Lawlers segment that hasn't been said already ... really good stuff ...
Snooki's involvement can't be any worse than Kevin Federline's
K-Fed was great! Such a natural heel. Pretty sure he took an FU from Cena.
Yeah, you know, maybe that's part of what's grating on me. Snooki is being presented as a babyface. TRISH STRATUS apparently loves her and WANTS to team with her against LayCool, as if she's not a liability and not a gross, repugnant blight on society. WWE wants us to LOVE SNOOKI. It's kind of sickening. If Snooki were a heel, well, I could get behind that more easily. Ecch. Whatever. I'm sick of thinking about Snooki.
I know Wrestlemania is all about bringing the big names and trying to create more hype, but Snooki competeing at WM? The WWE is truly watering down their biggest PPV product.
As far as i know Jersey Shore could be a program about the 3 guys from Jersey in WCW. Only difference between RAW promoting a Jersey Shore cast member and TNA is that TNA IS ON AT THE SAME TIME AS JERSEY SHORE. IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE JERSEY SHORE PERSON, YOU WOULD BE WATCHING THEIR PROGRAM. Now, having said that, wouldn't have this person on the Mania card anyway.
Snooki is at least on the level of celebrity as Mr. T. You remember Mr. T, the guy that main evented the show that started it all? I suppose it could be debatable as to whether she's a bigger star than Lawrence Taylor was in his prime. Remember Lawrence Taylor? The football player who main evented Wrestlemania and won? And it's only been three years since The Big Show lost to Floyd Mayweather at Wrestlemania.
Even if Snooki does actually end up wrestling, it will be in the lowest match on the card, if not in actual billing than in importance. Switching her out with Kelly does absolutely nothing to elevate the match. (If they could entice Lita back for one last match, then I could possibly see it being viewed as something other than a waste of time, but otherwise, I think the participants are irrelevant, regardless of what build they do for it in the next 3 weeks.)
