TONIGHT: The big news is that the Wrestlemania guest host will be revealed tonight. Will it be the Rock? Shawn Michaels? Steve Austin? Bob Barker? The host will participate in a live chat on WWE.com following Raw. Also, it’s the go-home show for Elimination Chamber. Three Chamber Preview matches will take place: John Cena vs. CM Punk, Randy Orton vs. King Sheamus and R-Truth vs. John Morrison. Plus, Natalya gets her Divas Championship rematch, against Eve Torres. And as a side-note, Jerry Lawler’s mother passed away last night, so he’s not expected to be at Raw.

-WWE Open.

-No Raw Open, instead, straight to the arena where fireworks blasted off on the stage, and the Raw theme played. That was different. Michael Cole opened the show, while Josh Mathews said the host of Wrestlemania 27 will be revealed later tonight, with names like Justin Timberlake and Will Smith being rumored for the spot.

-There will be three singles matches relating to the Elimination Chamber: Orton vs. Sheamus, Morrison vs. Truth and Punk vs. Cena. And the latter starts right now!

-When Cena came to the ring, they showed clips of Cena getting DQ’d last week in his match with Punk. Cena got the mic and noted that it’s Valentine’s Day, and it’s good to see all the couples in the house. He said love was in the air, but so was Wrestlemania. Cena put his arm around Justin Roberts and said tonight will be real big, because they find out who will host Wrestlemania. “Rocky” chant from some of the fans. Cena said that after the Grammy’s last night, Lady Gaga is a candidate. Sammi left Jersey Shore, so she is as well. But Cena has his own theory: Michael Cole. Cena used Vince McMahon’s words last week to prove that Cole could be the guest host. Cena said we’ve never had actual proof Cole is a man. “Now you’ve gone too far!” said Cole. Cena also plugged the Elimination Chamber PPV. He said he needs his Wrestlemania moment after the year he has had. The crowd booed. Cena said at one point, he was a slave, working for a group of radicals. Then he got fired. Crowd was totally no-selling his jokes. Cena said he still had to deal with Nexus after he was rehired, but only CM Punk is allowed in the Chamber. Punk then came out, mic in hand.

Punk said he didn’t need to listen to this anymore, and he wanted to point out that he is 2-0 in their last two meetings. Punk said even in Anaheim, good things happen to good people. The match then got underway, as Punk had made his way to the ring. Cole said the rest of Nexus has been banned from ringside, and if any Chamber participant gets involved, they’ll be out of the match on Sunday.

(1) John Cena vs. CM Punk
Punk rammed Cena into the post, and Cena went to ringside. Punk flew off the apron with a diving clothesline that found the mark. They went to commercial almost exactly one minute into the match.

[Commercial Break]

Back with Punk kneeing Cena right in the face, then garnering a two-count. The announcers were billing this match as “there must be a winner.” Punk with a bodyscissors on Cena. Cena attempted to power out, and did so. Punk grabbed the ropes on an STF attempt. Punk came back with right hands, popping Cena in the jaw a few times. Suplex by Cena out of nowhere, and he hit the Five-Knuckle Shuffle. Attitude Adjustment, but Punk got out of it and a heel kick put Cena down for a two-count. Now a headscissors applied. Cena showed off his strength by getting to his feet with Punk still in the hold. Reversal, gutwrench suplex for two. Cena to the top, but Punk knocked him to the mat. There was a crawler on the bottom of the screen, letting viewers know that the Westminster Dog Show could be found on CNBC. Punk with a swinging neckbreaker, and again a two-count. He got Cena up for the Go To Sleep, but Cena countered into a roll-up for a near-fall. Straight up kick to the head by Punk. Cover for two. The announcers said the frustration had to be building for Punk. Punk went to the top with a cross-body, but Cena rolled through and picked him up. Punk grabbed the top rope on an AA try, and was sent to ringside. A Nexus arm stuck out from under the ring with a chair. Punk tossed the chair into the ring and while the ref was busy discarding said chair, the arm came from under the ring again with a wrench. Punk nailed Cena in the head with the wrench, then connected on a nice GTS for the pinfall win.

Winner: Punk, at 10:35. Match felt a bit like a house show main event until the ending, which gets credit for being unique.

-The announcers were shown on camera, addressing the absence of Jerry Lawler. They assured fans that Lawler would be at the Elimination Chamber.

-The camera showed the entrance to the arena, waiting on the limo to presumably bring the guest host to the arena. Johnny Depp, Ryan Seacrest and Mr. McMahon were three more names thrown out by the announcers as possibilities.

[Commercial Break]

-Justin Roberts introduced Ricardo Rodriguez, who got good heat. He announced Alberto Del Rio, who drove into the arena in style. He did his usual introduction, then said he doesn’t care who wins the Smackdown Elimination Chamber, because it’s his destiny to be World Champion. Then Edge’s music interrupted. Edge said he’s been so busy beating Dolph Ziggler on Smackdown, that he forgot Del Rio attacked him with a guitar two weeks ago. Edge entered the ring and wanted to inform Del Rio of HIS destiny: He speared Del Rio and proceeded to punch him several times. Edge set up for the Spear, but Rodriguez got on the apron. He was knocked off, allowing Del Rio time to leave the ring. But after getting a shot in on Edge, Del Rio got on the apron, only to be speared down. Edge grabbed the title and posed with it in the ring as Vickie Guerrero excuse me’d her way out. Nuclear heat.

Vickie introduced the new World Heavyweight Champion, Dolph Ziggler. As Ziggler came out, they showed the finish of the title match from Smackdown, with Vickie getting hurt and Green Bay Packer LB Clay Matthews, Jr. replacing him. Vickie reminded Edge of the Spear stipulation. She said that this Friday, there will be an official coronation of Ziggler as champion. She said Edge is about to lose something else besides the title, as she has proof that Edge is the one who assaulted Teddy Long. She then cackled as only she can. Ziggler joined her in laughing. Good hook for Smackdown this week…did WWE get worried about the ratings drop from the latest episode?

-Eve and Natalya walked in the split-screen. It’s a Lumberjill match for the Divas Championship.

-A third creepy vignette aired. The focus was on the steps leading up to the cabin, then on the window. It looked like a silhouette of the Undertaker, then they showed an image of Taker in the window. 2/21/11. There, that should shut everyone up.

[Commercial Break]

-Cole reminded viewers that the host of Wrestlemania will be revealed tonight. “It will change WWE,” said Cole. You mean like NXT was supposed to?

-Tonight, The Miz faces Daniel Bryan in a one-on-one match.

(2) Natalya vs. Eve Torres- Divas Championship, Lumberjill Match
They’re actually calling it “Lumberjill” this time. Nattie and the Lumberjills were already out, so Eve was the only one who got an entrance. Nattie kipped up out of a headscissors, and Eve did the same. They both tried a dropkick at the same time, too. Eve wrestled Natalya to the mat and applied a hammerlock. Apparently, the WWE Universe voted Natalya as their dream Valentine on WWE.com. Surfboard by Natalya, but Eve balanced herself on Natalya’s feet after letting go of the arms. Flip legdrop by Neidhart for two. Discus clothesline by Nattie. So far, no Lumberjill involvement. As I type that, Natalya was thrown to the outside. The heels, including the Bellas and Alicia Fox, got involved. The heels and babyfaces stood off and Eve did a cross-body on the heels. One of them was down holding their nose, maybe Maryse. She was back up a few moments later though. Eve and Natalya bonked heads in the ring. Natalya went for a magistra cradle, but Eve rolled up and held on for the win.

Winner: Eve, at 3:38. It looked like Natalya should’ve been able to kick out there. Still, one of the best WWE women’s matches in some time. Natalya was absolutely buried on commentary though, by both Cole and Mathews.

[Commercial Break]

-Rev Theory was shown at ringside.

-The Bellas were arguing with Eve backstage for some reason. One of them choked Eve, and they started brawling with her when Gail Kim made the save. Two referees broke it up, but Natalya got involved as well.

-Mathews and Cole talked about The Chaperone, and said Triple H’s co-star, Ariel Winter of Modern Family, is the guest host tonight. Then they showed a preview of the movie.

-Mark Henry came out for a match but Sheamus attacked him from behind. No Kingly gear. Brogue Kick by Sheamus on Henry in the aisle. Sheamus grabbed a mic and sent a message to Elimination Chamber participants, reminding them that’s what they can expect. Also, to watch what he’ll do to randy Orton tonight. Another Brogue Kick by Sheamus once Henry got to one knee.

-Miz and Alex Riley were walking backstage. Miz pushed a production assistant into a few boxes as he walked by, in a comedy spot. They passed Michael Tarver, of which the announcers made no mention. His match with Daniel Bryan is next.

[Commercial Break]

(3) The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan
Riley was on commentary for this one. After an extended lock-up, Bryan took Miz down with a few arm-drags. Dropkick by Bryan, and another. Then he ran into a big boot. Miz applied a modified came clutch. Bryan fought out and jumped on Miz’s back. They kinda both fell back and Bryan applied a hold, but Miz got to the ropes. Miz with a forearm to Bryan that also knocked him down. Bryan fired back with a dropkick in the corner for a two-count. Miz begged off, then kicked Bryan in the gut. Bryan back-dropped Miz out of the ring. From the apron, Bryan dove at Miz knee-first, sending Miz into the barricade. Bryan made some weird faces once he got to his feet. He tossed Miz back intot he ring, then came off the top with a dropkick. Cover got two. Bryan almost got Miz in the LeBell Lock, but Miz got to the ropes. Miz, from the apron, pulled Bryan’s head through the ropes, and gave him a neck-breaker, with Bryan’s head hitting the apron. Nice move to send them to break.

[Commercial Break]

Miz tried a superplex, but Bryan turned it into a sunset flip/powerbomb off the top rope for a near-fall. Bryan showed aggressiveness by kicking Miz in the chest a number of times. Miz ducked the final one and rolled him up for two. Bryan countered a neck-breaker and went for an overhead suplex. Another kick by Bryan and again Josh Mathews said “it’s over!” so you knew it wasn’t. Bryan jumped onto Miz’s shoulders, but Bryan was brought down face-first. Skull Crushing Finale followed it. Pin.

Winner: The Miz, at 11:58. Heckuva match, and a good win for Miz against a credible wrestler.

Miz got the mic after the match. He asked the fans if they saw what he just did. But there’s one person who didn’t see it, that being Jerry “The King” Lawler. Miz said Lawler was unfortunately not in the building tonight because of the passing of his mother. Miz then wanted to take a moment to offer his sincere condolences. However, he hoped Lawler wouldn’t use this as an excuse for his loss this coming Sunday. Miz finished with his catchphrase.

[Commercial Break]

-Cole plugged WWE.com, which will allow you a look inside the Elimination Chamber.

(4) Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga vs. John Morrison & R-Truth
The Nexus members were already in the ring, as was Truth. Apparently the GM e-mailed during the break changing the match from Morrison vs. Truth to this match due to what happened last week. So why was the singles match ever announced, then? Truth with a hip-toss on McGillicutty. Otunga and Morrison argued while Mason Ryan grabbed Truth’s leg. That allowed McGillicutty to knock Truth out of the ring. Kick to the gut by Ryan as the ref was distracted again. Tag in to Otunga, and some double teaming occurred in the heel corner. Suplex by Otunga for a two-count. Morrison had some bruising around the eyes from the spray courtesy of CM Punk last week. Truth suplexed Otunga and both men were down. Morrison tagged in and tackled Otunga. Unique spinebuster by Morrison, and he continued to throw fisticuffs. Tag to McGillicutty, who Morrison also brawled with. Morrison threw Truth onto Ryan on the outside. Running knee to the face of McGillicutty for the win. “I hope you’re watching, Punk!” he said before he hit the move.

Winners: Morrison & Truth, at 4:17. Acceptable match to show off Morrison’s aggressive side heading into the chamber.

Ryan tried to get some more after the match, but was held at bay by the babyfaces.

-The announcers plugged Chris Jericho’s new book, “Undisputed.” They said it’s available this coming Wednesday, but I picked it up in the bookstore on Saturday.

-They showed the exterior of the Honda Center and Cole hyped the announcement of the Wrestlemania guest host.

-Mathews plugged Sheamus vs. Orton, still to come.

[Commercial Break]

-Justin Roberts introduced Ariel Winter, who was already in the ring. She said she was excited to be in the ring for Monday Night Raw, and talked a little about The Chaperone and her co-star Triple H. She said not only is tonight Valentine’s Day, but it’s also the night for the Khali Kiss Cam. She danced in the ring as Khali and Ranjin Singh came to the ring. All three danced in the ring, then Khali got a microphone. He spoke, then Singh translated. Singh’s sideburns are even more out of control. Singh said Khali won’t be doing the smooching, as the Kiss Cam will be on all of the fans, and on the backstage area. They showed some fans in the crowd, and they did some kissing. Santino and Tamina were caught backstage and they kissed. Vickie kissed Dolph Ziggler. More fans. Then to Ted DiBiase and Maryse. Maryse faked going in for a kiss, then turned away and kissed Yoshi Tatsu. Zack Ryder and William Regal were talking backstage. Well, Ryder was and he didn’t notice the camera. Regal gave Ryder a peck on the cheek. Hornswoggle then came from under the ring with a box of chocolates. He gave them to Winter, and she kissed him on the cheek. He picked her up and spun her around. Well, at least Winter didn’t have to kiss Khali.

-Randy Orton was walking backstage, showing intense focus. His match with Sheamus is next.

[Commercial Break]

-The 2/21/11 promo aired.

(5) King Sheamus vs. Randy Orton
Orton took Sheamus down in the corner as the crowd chanted “RKO.” Sheamus fought back with forearms and elbows. Thesz Press by Orton. Jumping knee-drop missed, and Sheamus capitalized with a shoulder knockdown. Back-breaker by Orton, then a kneedrop. Clothesline by Sheamus once he got back to his feet. He stepped on Orton’s throat, then choked him in the middle rope. Sheamus pounded on Orton’s chest with forearms, then gave him a running knee on the apron. Sheamus dove over the top rope with a shoulder tackle for two. Orton headbutted Sheamus and whipped him into the corner. Sheamus got a boot up on a charge, then took Sheamus down with a few clotheslines. Scoop slam by Orton. Orton ran right into an Irish Curse backbreaker, and the camera angle clearly showed Orton leaping for it without much help from Sheamus. Sheamus set Orton on the top rope, then suplexed him down. As both men got to their feet, Orton surprised Sheamus with an RKO and a win.

Winner: Orton, at 5:04.

CM Punk and Nexus attacked Orton after the match, but John Morrison and R-Truth separately ran out to fight them off. Finally, John Cena came out and took the fight to Nexus. Otunga got RKO’d, but so did McGillicutty. Cena and Orton double clotheslined Ryan out. AA for Punk. Nexus was laid out outside the ring as Cena and Orton stood tall inside.

-A limo pulled up in the garage area. The person got out, and it was a woman. Only her feet were shown, and she was wearing high heels and began walking.

[Commercial Break]

-Justin Roberts introduced the host of Wrestlemania 27….but the arena went silent. I mean, pin drop silent. The lights dimmed and even the TitanTron went off. Smoke came up on the TitanTron then it went off again. The Rock’s music played and the place erupted. The Rock walked out onto the stage with a t-shirt that read, “I Bring It.” It sounded like a remixed Rock theme, or I haven’t heard it in a while. He surveyed the crowd from both ends of the stage, then walked to the ring. He posed on the turnbuckles as the crowd went wild. “After seven long years…” he started. Then he did three FINALLYs, and said “finally, the Rock has come back to Anaheim.” He also did one for Monday Night Raw, and said finally, he has come back home. He said, for those of you who don’t know, he has many nicknames: The Great One, The Most Electrifying Man in ALL of Entertainment, The People’s Champion. He did say he needed to tell the people something as Dwayne. He said it’s been seven years since he’s been back, but he wants to tell everyone why he’s back. It’s not because of the money, it’s not to promote a movie, but he’s back because of the fans. He said when he left WWE seven years ago, he dreamed big, and the fans helped him accomplish his dreams. He thanked the fans, said he loved them and that it’s because of them he’s back in the ring, and he’s never going away. What does that mean? And who was the woman in the limo?

He said The Rock was back because he wanted to do something unprecedented: host Wrestlemania. He said he called Vince McMahon, and Vince said there was only man who could host Wrestlemania, and that man, is Justin Bieber. The crowd booed. Rock said he knows the kid, and he’s a cool kid, but there’s only one man capable of hosting Wrestlemania. He went into his spiel, and they even bleeped “ass” after 11pm EST. He promised to layeth the smack down at Wrestlemania. But…to whom? Could it be, The Miz? Nice pop for that. Rock said if you have to tell everyone how awesome you are, then you undoubtedly, 100% completely suck. Rock said there’s one more man he wants to see, and that man…but the GM chimed in and interrupted. Cole asked for the attention of the audience and said he received an e-mail from the anonymous Raw GM. Rock said if Cole takes one more step toward the GM, he’d slap the taste out of his mouth. He said no one gives a damn what the GM has to say. Rock gave him the “it doesn’t matter what you think!” He told Cole to sit his ass (not bleeped) down, know his damn role and shut his damn mouth. Rock if Cole doesn’t do what he said, he’s going to post some great Facebook pics (and they even showed his facebook address) of him shining the computer up real nice and sticking it straight up Cole’s candy ass.

Rock said there is one man that he’s going to see, one man who he has to see face-to-face, someone who he thought was a cool guy. Someone who out of the blue, started talking trash about The Rock, and his name is John Cena. “Cena sucks” chant from the crowd. Rock said WWE has gone from the powerful Austin 3:16 to the iconic “Can You Smell What the Rock is Cooking” to “you can’t see me.” He did that in a wimpy voice. “We all can see you,” said Rock. He said with all of Cena’s t-shirt colors, he comes out looking like a giant bowl of Fruity Pebbles. He said he’s sure he’ll see Cena and Miz at ‘Mania, he’ll guarantee three things at ‘Mania: That he’s the most electrifying man in all of Entertainment; to lay the smack down on all their candy asses; and all of his fans will be at ‘Mania to electrify. If ya smell what the Rock is cookin’. Rock then posed for the fans. Wonder what the Cena put-downs will lead to. Rock just put every other promo to shame. They plugged the WWE.com with the chat coming up next. They signed off with Rock on the stage.

After that, Cena vs. Rock NEEDS to happen. Perhaps it isn't a foregone conclusion, after all, that Cena will win in the Elimination Chamber. But we've seen Orton v. Miz many times, and I doubt they'd have Morrison or R-Truth main-event WrestleMania. (Especially not R-Truth). Nor would they do a heel v. heel matchup by having Sheamus win it.

So they have to turn Cena heel if Rock is this over as a face, right? But Cena is still pretty damn over as a face himself, so I wonder where they're going with this...

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

If Cena/Rock happens, there's no reason why they can't put Morrison in there against Miz, because A) they HAVE to have learned something from the Jericho/HHH debacle in 2002, and B) Morrison totally deserves it. They'd also be able to get away with not having a MITB too, at least for me... personally, I wouldn't care WHAT the undercard would be, I'd buy the show JUST for Cena/Rock.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

I'm worried by the 'The Rock will see Cena, he'll see the Miz and he'll see everyone else at Wrestlemania!' line, since that undercut the idea that Rock is focused just at Cena in a match-type environment. I have a feeling this will end as Rock as the guest referee for Cena/Miz, but man.....Cena/Rock is just too big to pass up now that it's been hinted this heavily. That's the kind of headline, Wrestlemania-caliber, iconic match that generates a million PPV buys.

For whatever its worth, here is his answer from the live chat in regards to calling out Cena:

DWAYNE "THE ROCK" JOHNSON: John Cena said a variety of things that came across my desk which at first I thought was interesting and then I felt was laughable because the comments really didn't make any sense to me. To be clear, not that they ever make me mad. I just thought the comments were an interesting choice of things to say.

Stephanie McMahon is trending on Twitter right now, solely because of those Mystery Legs.

I bet Rocky guest-refs a Cena/Miz match (since he talked trash about both of them) but if he's happy with the way things go...Rock/Cena in 2012 in MIAMI when he goes in the HOF?

CM Punk made a Back To The Future 2 reference (Grey's Sports Almanac apparently kept track of WWE win/loss records too!). On any ordinary, non-Rock-overrun night, that would be the best moment. That whole promo was outstanding.

Solid wrestling all around.

Also, Regal's post-kissy face was priceless.

The Rock is the master at putting people over. This is all a set-up to put Cena over as the biggest star in the company. This Orton nonsense in the past few months needs to be put to bed, according to the WWE. Just the fact that everyone is talking about Rock/Cena as an eventuality is the start. (And I would buy my first WWE PPV in years if that happens, which it will not.) I see a Tyson-like swerve coming.

And Steve Regal still makes the best faces out of anybody in the business. He could emote an entire conversation with a mouthful of peanut butter, I swear. 5 minutes out of any WWE program should just be Steve Regal providing commentary for the hearing impaired in an oval with him just making reactionary faces to whatever is happening.

Still no Diesel/Kevin Nash showing up/doing anything. We get a month of buildup towards Undertaker vs. Streak come next week.

If you didn't mark out during the last 10 minutes I pity you. Awesome. Just plain awesome. Guy's gotta work out some ring rust and if he is going to get back in the ring look to see a program with Nexus/CM Punk if only because they're the only real jobbers on TV.

For one night Wrestling is cool again. I can't tell you how many of my Facebook friends that haven't watched Wrestling in ten years were mentioning The Rock showing up on Raw. That was an incredible moment and a incredible promo. The Rock had the crowd eating out of his hands like the good old days. The comments on Cena were hysterical. I don't see The Rock wrestling ever again. I see him being the ref for Cena-Miz at WM27. I don't think The WWE has to worry about PPV buys to stay on the decline the next few months.

Lost in all of this is the Bryan vs Miz match, which picked up a lot of steam after that insane neckbreaker spot (which initially looked crazy). A clean win for the Miz builds up credibility, and Bryan looked solid in defeat. Matthews in particular did a great job of building up Daniel Bryan. And they probably had less than a day to go about it due to Lawler's personal issues.

Speaking of Josh Matthews, I'm sold. He's a solid commentator and I like what he brings to the table. Him and Booker minus Cole could be win.

Morrison is gold tonight. Gold. That intensity was solid and well done. And notice the Nexus team; Starscream didn't do much in the ring (I think he did a suplex and one other move), he let Skywarp do all the work. That's probably the best way to use Otunga right now, as everything BUT in the ring he's solid.

There's some people who just have the natural charisma, and the Rock is one of those people. Oh sure, we knew it for years, but to see it in action again was a sight to behold.

The overrun overran, but is anyone complaining? And while we're asking questions....

- That was decidedly not a PG promo. Is it a one-off or a change of direction toward PG-13?

- The Rock made a couple of comments implying that "he's not going anywhere". Catering to fans or a sign that he might do more than just Mania?

- If there's anyone who you can turn Cena heel against, it's the Rock. Do you turn Cena heel and use him as foil against the Rock?

- Are the Mystery Legs going to play into something, or were they just there for the swerve?

Agree with Rock putting over people but disagree about him putting over Cena as the biggest star. Cena already is the biggest star in the WWE. I think it might have more to do with building up the Miz, as Rock mentioned him a few times.

This is about hyping Wrestlemania. I don't think Cena or Rock have to turn heel for this to work.

Sure is getting late towawrd WM to be building up an Undertaker match......

And as much as everyone hates Mark Henry, got to admit, he can sell a beat down at times, did you see the fall he took tonight on the hard surface? Ouch.

I bet Vince paid a pretty penny, 100s of millions of them, to get Dwayne Johnson back in pro wrestling.

Ding. Confrontation. Heat between the two guys. But eventually they respect each other. Stereo People's Elbow and 5 Knuckle Shuffle on Miz.

I'd say he'll stick around past Mania. I think he has the acting bug out of his system; and frankly it's not like his last couple of movies have set the box office on fire.
