No Way Out 2008. Both EC matches were for #1 contender's spots at WM.

Another possibility: 2-21-11 could be when they'll reveal the anonymous RAW GM. The GM could even turn out to be Undertaker or Sting. Neither would make any sense at all, but since when does wrestling have to make sense?

I think giving Lawler the title match at EC is great booking - as long as they follow through on it the right way. Miz should absolutely kill him at the PPV. I mean, if they're ever going to allow blood again, this would be the time for it. Beating the hell out of Lawler would really make people want to see Miz finally get his comeuppance from Cena at WrestleMania.

Lawler getting the title shot at EC is the best thing to happen to Miz, in terms of building heat for 'Mania.

The boots/cabin thing is a mystery. Could be UT, but then unless he's changing gimmicks they'd usually just do some gongs and smoke and actually announce that it's he who's returning. Could be Kong, but when have they ever hyped a woman with vignettes like this? Sting seems most likely, but even then there's the factors that cubs mentioned. Unless they've signed him to a year-long Goldberg contract and he's actually gonna be a regular for a while.

After umpteen new guys debuting with short black tights, tribal tats, Arrogant Young Man (tm) attitudes and names like 'Morris Lawson' or 'Thatcher Olson,' I'd gladly take a good old-fashioned goofy-ass gimmick.

You know, you've got a good point on both of these.

I am thinking Taker as well, but the whole thing seemed really out there even for Taker. Is he going to kill a family in the woods to get his powers back? Is he going back to the place where his and Kane's parents died? Did he get a good bargain on cabins in the poor real estate market? The promo does what it is supposed to do which is ask questions without revealing much, but the questions being asked are not all good ones. Either way, Taker being on Raw makes sense since the brand split has been dead for months, its just no one wants to come out right and say it.

Cole vs. Lawler at Mania is going to happen. I expect after the elimination chamber, we get the reveal that Cole is the GM and a McMahon intervention to fire Cole or use their authority to override Cole to make the match at Mania. I just hope it ends this entire GM storyline and we can move to either real person or no GMs. Lawler/Miz makes as much sense as anything else. When Miz beats him, its no big deal and leaves it wide open if Miz is champ for one of the other six to come after him when Mania is over. I just think its going to be a little more competitive then people want it to be.

I guess Orton doesn't like fatties. The rest of the show was useless. Bryan/Gail/Bella Twins makes Bryan look weak that he is getting slapped around by bitches. Its probably time to find a good wrestler say like Morrison for Bryan to face going into Mania. The Divas division is treading water til Kong comes and the tag team division has one less team now. Breaking up Hart Dynasty has proven to be a dumb ass move.

Cole ruined the ending of RAW with his screeching. He doesn't have the wit to be a weasel heel, and he doesn't have the gravity to be a menace. His gimmick is to be Bill Alphono's whistle.

Lawler's matches at EC at least pays off some continuity with Miz. I just wish Miz's biggest angle as champ wasn't with JERRY LAWLER. He has a dropkick and a punch. That's all we've seen lately.

Morrison's too-numerous almost-exits drifted from impressive to ho-hum right quick. He needs more to do than just be clever and athletic. Missing the Starship Pain on Cena/Sheamus doesn't help his cause.

The thing with JoMo's near eliminations is that the announcers always mention how both feet have to touch the floor, so he could have done them much more easily simply by hopping around for a bit. This seems like something Santino should realise at some point. Also Zach Gowen could never lose.

It appeared they were trying to set up another near-elimination right after Truth was out near the announcers. Morrison was on the apron for a LONG time, and I suspect they were going for another RR spot where Morrison would land on Truth and get back to the apron. Morrison was out there from that point until Cena and Sheamus joined him. The crowd thought Jerry could manage a triple elimination, before Sheamus popped John and got back inside. That stretch of match seemed weakly improvised.

I thought about that as well. In a perfect fantasy booking world, Big Show would be getting beat down by The Corre, only to have Booker T & Diesel save him ... and thus setting up a 6-man tag at WM ... with Big Show, Booker T & Nash on the same team, could play off of the WCW/WM being in Atlanta thing ... just a thought that I spent way too much time thinking about ...

oh, and my money's on 'Taker ...

Good idea, but then it would have been stupid to reintroduce Nash as Big Daddy Cool Diesel, which is a WWE creation, not one of WCW's.

My first thought on 2/21/11 was Taker. Sting never occurred to me, I am embarrassed to admit. During the video, my wife asked “Are you watching Tombstone?”, to which I replied, “No, it’s obviously wrestling, can’t you tell?” She later asked “why are they having a dancing contest instead of wrestling?” I had no answer for her.

Yeah, that was the rule that never made sense to me. It strains credulity.

The 2/21/11 vignette seemed to match the gimmick Eli Cottonwood was using prior to NXT. With Kane most likely retiring soon and Undertaker seemingly struggling to hang on until Wrestlemania 28 for 20-0, they're going to need to bring in a new monster.

The rule makes perfect sense when you consider that it's in place to protect the intended winner in the event of an accidental elimination and to add drama. What strains credulity is the fact that it's perfectly legal to kick everybody else in the balls before throwing them over the top rope but nobody ever does it.

(On that same note, back when Bischoff was regularly putting people up against the Big Show in No DQ matches as punishment, I always wanted to see someone just repeatedly kick him in the balls so that he became terrified of No DQ matches.)

If the WWE is dusting off WCW characters for the Atlanta WM, may we hope for the Desperadoes? Heh heh, they wouldn't -- OH CRAP. MIDNIGHT RIDER!

Maybe Dustin Runnels is dusting off the Seven gimmick with the trenchcoat. I'm still not sure what that was supposed to be, besides something not Goldust.

I'm hoping for the Zombie to return from his initial debut in ECW.
If they could have Lawler teach Miz how to play a competitive game of Hide The Chain it could have a long lasting impact on Miz. And, please allow the piledriver for 1 night.
Will R-Truth turn into Shaska Truth before or after Mania?
And, if Cole is the GM of RAW, shouldn't Lawler be happy with him because Cole has booked him in more major matches than anyone else has in the past 20 years?

This was a great show. That's the kinda crowd they need. Not those idiots in Orlando. I already miss the Robbies. It was stupid to break them up. I don't think either of them can make it alone, which is sad. Will Cookie be returning?
