Big Sexecutioner earned his title run the right way, by being tall and by being employed by WWE for almost a year and a half.

I'm surprised so many people here like The Miz becoming champ. I didn't like when he won Money In The Bank, and thought for sure he'd be the first one to lose when he used the briefcase. I just don't think he's past midcard level.

People popping at Raw popped because it was the WWE Championship changing hands at a Raw, you kind of know going in that usually only happens at the pay-per-views. I think scowling girl sums it up best.

And man, did he draw! Business was great in '95. He packed houses all across the nation as champ. Wait, he didn't?! Oh.

To his credit, and evidenced by the fact that nobody can link to it, Nash has since deleted the tweet. (And, although he couldn't select the correct word between "their" and "there," he DID spell out "shit" without feeling he had to use an asterisk.)

Didn't Miz also survive the some of the legendary Bradshaw treatment?

I thought Jack Swagger was more unlikely and less ready than the Miz is now, by a long shot.

Erhm, David Arquette had no wrestling experience and was an established actor when he came in and got the title to promote a movie.

The Miz has been an actor for 5-ish years now, has paid his dues in the WWE ring and is a wrestler who just might have an MTV background that he can reference to now that he is all over the news (again)

I don't fear that it will be held against him, other than for story line purposes because he is gonna be bragging about his tmz/mtv exposure to get heat.

I know he deleted it, but this tweet is doubly hilarious to me. He's either trying to say that TNA isn't a work or he's trying to say wrestling companies are supposed to keep it a secret that it's all a work (which he undermined by tweeting about it).

Which would be amazingly ironic, especially if you watched the Hulk Hogan promo on TNA Reaction last week.

HBK Didn't do much better in 96-97 with the title to be fair. That is when he wasn't losing his smile.

Just because I don't think the time is right for him to have won the title, doesn't mean I don't think he would ever be there. Who knows, he may prove himself to me yet.

When he didn't come out for the King of the Ring qualifier, I knew he was cashing in later.

The announcers put over he had "waited since Wrestlemania" to cash in, but he won at the Money in the Bank PPV in July, so he still had quite awhile left yet.

I'll go out on a limb: When the Miz eventually loses the belt, it will actually take more than a fingerpoke to keep him down for a 3 count.

Miz is the PERFECT champ for now.

Look where he was when this build started, they had him challenge Cena, and when he was beat clean, we wrote it off, and said that was it for him.

Just like we did when Cena got beat clean by Lesnar, a few years ago, or Angle got tapped out by TAZZ for his first loss before that.

I believe that Miz, is the money fued with cena going forward, and dare i say, Miz could be the Flair, to Cena's Hogan.

These two are the future.

I still love the fact that Cena and Orton hugged at the end of that segment:

"Well, we had a vicious feud a year ago that included a Hell In The Cell and me handcuffing you to myself. Before that, you punted my father in the head and put him in the hospital for months... (holding back tears) I'm gonna miss you man...."

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

"I don't like John Cena, and I tried to kill his nameless father, but I respect John Cena." I'm paraphrasing.

Does the WWE know what time of year it is? They just did Spring Cleaning on the roster, the Divas have Spring fever, and now a King of the Ring? I'm not complaining but it is very weird to me.

All the right people won tonight, and this show did its best to validate Lance Storm's explanation for the death of PPV. Bonus!

Snitsky bitched on Twitter when Miz SCF'd Sheamus after hitting him with the briefcase as being unbelievable Miz could knock Sheamus out. I think it's a "big guys are better than smaller guys cuz they're bigger" mentality that big guys without a lot of talent hold on to for their own egos.

It's weird cuz Miz isn't that small, he seemed to dwarf Danielson. Isn't he even bigger than HBK?

I don't think it's just a case of size, though I think Shawn during his '96 world title run was probably better built than Miz is now. I think it's probably perfectly natural that guys who didn't star on reality shows might resent someone who did as being somehow "not one of us". If Justin Bieber, who came up through youtube, wins the grammy for record of the year or album of the year, or something that is considered extremely prestigious, you'd probably hear some grumbling from people that came up through traditional channels.

Plus Nash, for whatever his limitations as being just another big guy, didn't get the title just for being big. I can't believe I'm defending him, but come on guys. A little fairness. He, Michaels, Hall, Taker, and Hart were the only draws during that period for Titan and all of them did what they could during a period where the entire industry was the shits.

Interesting point, HMD, but, to counter: Was there grumbling from people who came up through "traditional channels" when Carrie Underwood starting winning Grammys and awards? What does a reality show background really have to do with Miz not 'paying his dues'? It's not like he was on Real World/Road Rules or Tough Enough 2 months ago. This is not akin to David Arquette being given a championship.
