Every time Cena acts ruefully about "I don't know what I would do without wrestling" I want to scream at the TV "YOU WOULD GO MAKE MORE CRAPPY MOVIES YOU IDIOT." The idea that John Cena's life would end without the WWE is fairly ridiculous.

And what's with the GM's logic? "I want RAW to WIN Bragging Rights this year." So, using randomly chosen matches to determine the team AND captain is the way to make the best team? Really? (Really?) Maybe Matt Millen is the RAW GM.

Well, isn't the fact that he's the WWE's biggest star the reason Cena gets to make crappy movies? Hell, all the movies he does make are WWE productions. Wouldn't that kind of go away if he was, you know, fired from WWE? And wrestling is his passion, not acting. Sure, he could probably still make a living, but not doing what he loves most.

FWIW they'd changed NXT2 to just be for the PPV title shot since they knew they were going to put a bunch of them on TV.

What are the odds they remember this stipulation at all? Would they really take 30 seconds of valuable PPV time to have Kane squash Kaval like a bug?

Two very good promo segments with Cena that shared a common bond. Cena didn't say a single word throughout either of them.

What are the chances of Nexus ending up in another "If Nexus loses, they have to disband." match at Survivor Series, with it coming down to Cena as the last surviving member of Nexus and having to choose between giving up or saving Nexus?

If Santino actually makes it to Bragging Rights, I'm going to be pissed. The only way the WWE could miss the vote anymore with Zach Ryder is if they made him compete in the Divas division.

Punk/Edge has to be the best trade in the history of the brand split. I can't remember any other instance in which it made perfect sense on the part of both brands.

D.H. Smith was probably late getting to the arena because the cab driver fell asleep from listening to him talk.

I predict that Cole is revealed as the GM and he retroactively forfeits the Summer Slam match for Team WWE, thus screwing Cena & Bryan out of the victory and fixing his own faux pas on commentary.

Is this the first time that a wrestler has botched his finisher by hitting it clean? It looked to me like Gabriel jumped much farther than necessary, perhaps expecting Orton to roll toward the corner instead of away from it. (Can we get some footage of Orton botching finishers on Chris Jericho and Christian and instead of trying to cover, just immediately redoing the spot with no transition?)

While I'm liking the Nexus storyline with Cena, I think the most surprising part of the entire thing is that it's actually made David Otunga interesting. I really would like to ask him about his hair, though. Part of his "gimmick" on NXT was that he had a personal barber that he paid $350/week to cut his hair. He obviously hasn't had a haircut since NXT ended. I'm guessing is that once he became an official member of the roster, he got hazed into giving up the aforementioned barber, just like rookies are frowned upon flying first class, even if they pay for it themselves. (If I remember correctly, Kurt Angle didn't start flying first class until after he won his second world title, and that the only person exempt from the unwritten rule was Big Show since he doesn't fit too well in coach.)

Speaking of Big Show, I was on the fence about seeing Knucklhead. Sure, it's going to be dumb, but Show is damn good at dumb comedy. But throw Marcus in there? I'm sold.

Except that's probably the most realistic part of the entire angle. Everything I've seen indicates that Cena legitimately eats, drinks, sleeps and breathes WWE.

Even if Cena were to obtain The Rock levels of movie stardom [insert joke here], I doubt he would jump ship. The Rock got into wrestling because he failed at football and it was a family tradition. Cena got into wrestling because he wanted to be a wrestler. Cena didn't start out with an easy path into the WWE, he earned his way there.

Would being out of the WWE ruin Cena's life? No, but I think he would be legitimately unhappy with such a situation.

That is what I'm saying. They are painting it (to me) as "Cena would have no other options", when of course that is not the case. I would buy it the way they are selling it a lot more of John Cena was less of a cross-over star already.

RE: WWE letting the merchandise cash cow of Cena walk if he attacked Barrett in this storyline...seems to me it could be a subtle way of WWE reminding fans (and its wrestlers) that no one person is bigger than the WWE brand, no matter how popular they get. That's why Cena has to do all these "I'd be nothing without WWE" promos.

Lots of good in-ring work on this show. I also liked Ryder switching his tights from the old white and blue NY license plate (which he had on there for a few weeks) to the new, uglier, orange one. Someone must've clued him in on the recent change.

The following will never happen...but would be amazing if it did:

- Jericho came back to "Save Us" from Orton.
- Jericho turns heel because the fans are parasites.
- Jericho coaches Barrett to the NXT win.
- NeXuS debuts and Barrett emerges as "leader" & targets Cena
- Jericho states that Cena is the true threat to WWE.
- Jericho wants to reveal RAW GM.
- Jericho claims to know who RAW GM is.
- Orton punts Jericho as fans hypocritically cheer heel act.
- GM states NeXuS answers to him.
- Cena costs Orton the title.(We are "saved" from Orton)
- NeXuS controls WWE title.
- Cena's begrudging NeXuS support causes faces to mistrust him
- Cena causes NeXuS to win big Survivor Series match. (Thus fulfilling prophecy that Cena was true threat to WWE)
- Jericho reveals himself to be GM and master manipulator.

That being said...they will probably make it Cole or HHH.

Of note: Zack Ryder has been petitioning on his Twitter page for The Situation to be his partner. One can only hope.

I really want Nexus to steal Cena's identity and make him wear all Nexus gear. It can't be a lack of supply, the Nexus locker room is empty except for racks of N t-shirts, which validates my theory that at least one member of Nexus is Superman.

Barret was hilarious mocking Cena (you can tell he enjoys being booked as the guy who pussywhipped the biggest star in wrestling), but next week he really needs to focus on Orton since the PPV is like next Sunday or something- they're happening so often I can't keep track. I think we've proven Cena's browbeaten for now. While I get logically and genius super-villainy, Wade should be trying to brainwash Cena into WANTING to be Nexus. But I think this is really all part of his evil plan- to use logic from new Spock, a stallion must first be broken before it can reach its potential.

Cena is close to being fully broken, soon he'll BEG to wear the yellow N t-shirt and use the proper theme music so much he'll say "Rap-a-DON'T"

Shut up, Josh!

But you're ignoring the rest of my point about him being legitimately unhappy outside of the WWE. He's being given the option of taking a lot of shit to do something he loves or having an easy time doing something he doesn't like. And as someone has already pointed out, if he weren't the biggest name in the WWE right now, he wouldn't be getting all these movie parts. So if he gets fired, he loses that outlet as well and is forced to go back to being a limo driver. (And they really should work that into the storyline by having Nexus force Cena into driving their limo to Bragging Rights.)

Perhaps this is a slow burn on a long-overdue Cena heel turn? Have one of the top faces on Raw (let's use Orton for this example, although it could be anyone) come out and say words to the effect of "Since Cena can't do it, I guess that mean's *I'll* have to take down Nexus. Nexus members are then systematically eliminated until there's just Cena and Barrett left. We have Orton Vs Barrett on PPV, Nexus disbands if Barrett loses. It looks like Orton's about to win then Cena destroys him. The next night on Raw, Cena says that he didn't initially want to be with Nexus, but seeing how the fans deserted him despite his 'Never Give Up' rallying speeches at the beginning, he figured "If you can't beat them..."
