Hey, nobody is posting this, so I just will say this is my favorite RAW in like forever. The Mickie/Trish match was very good, I enjoyed the Highlanders/Roddy/Spirit Squad smozz and the Main was great.

Trips may be a politician, but he sure sells for the boss. I had fun while taping the Path to 9-11

Classy opening by WWE, but will it be eradicated by something stupid later in the show?....The Kane/Umaga segment got physical, and I think their match at Unforgiven could be interesting....Piper was a nice surprise, and the match was kinda entertaining....

The paint thing backstage was certainly different. Nice to see them incorporating his artistic style in with his character....The six-man was kinda sloppy in spots, but had good energy....Boy, the crowd sure didnt care about Crazy-Masters. Why should we, again?....

I thought Mickie/Trish was a bit sloppy....The main event was textbook booking (putting the heels over before the PPV), but part of me held out hope X-Pac would come out to even the score.

Hey, MSG crowd! Way to show the world what wrestling fans are all about with The World's Loudest Moment of Silence! Chattering and screaming shit during a solemn rememberance for those lost in the most horrible attack in this country in your lifetime? Class-y.

You expect anything less from the crowd who did "WHAT?!" chants during the national anthem back in 2002?

I wore the hell out of my FF button tonight, mostly stopping for the Nitro/Hardy segment (Hardy's anger over his painting was great). Mickie/Trish was nice, and the post was nice too, this is the way all sendoffs should go, I just hope that the Women's division doesn't get lost in the shuffle without Trish and someone like Mickie being wasted, I really enjoy watching her.

Again, this is the last Raw before a PPV, and to me, they did nothing to make me think, yeah, I need to get this PPV. Sure, it'll have a HIAC and TLC, but I can't do it, and really seem to be preferring ECW week in and week out to Raw lately. Maybe because it's new, maybe because it's McMahon free, but it definitely has something.

I really wish I had more to say, but again, my FF button was working overtime today, I don't even remember stopping to bother with the Main Event, I have no interest seeing Vince, and really hope this will be the PPV which he finally goes away, before they start really competing with MNF.

THAT'S MY PAINTING.

Kane throwing the steps at Umaga from the ring to the floor and hitting him in the fucken face was ridiculous.

"Go to Smackdown!" / "Stay on Raw!" chant-off was a thing of beauty.

Bwahahahaha that white guy is still talkin just like a black guy.

There could've been a pretty nifty angle after Trish leaves where Mickie James turns babyface opposed to Lita or Melina because Trish is her hero and blah blah blah. She's cute and spunky and played her character really well, so she'll make for a good face. Buuuuuut instead she turned face by virtue of ... wrestling a heel and acting like the face. She's still the obvious choice to build the women around A.T. -- although one assumes it's going to be at a level of stature akin to how the cruiserweight division is "built around" Gregory Helms -- but a slightly-thought-out angle leading to the turn would've made it seem kind of important. Instead she's just the new babyface, b/c once they ran out of ideas for their lesbian stalker angle they just stopped writing stuff. Yay! By which I mean boo.

I think they left out one of Hunter and one of Michaels' HIAC opponents. Namely, Michaels and Hunter. I remember because the match was three days long.

I'd expect nothing less from these guys. The strongest of the strong. They are New Yorker's after all.

_______

Pretty good Raw. I'm still not buying Unforgiven though.

Only complaint for me would be Masters. I thought he learned how to wrassle just before kicking the juice. I hated watching him in full sight of the camera telling Sup's Crazy what he was going to be doing. At Least Sups Won.

Ha Ha....Jeff Hardy sold paintings on ebay in his down time.......That was pretty clever. Made the whole paint drying thing from the previous week that much better.

DX. I was so ready for X-Pac to come out...It was then that I remembered why the thread about that got banished...Then I realized it just wasn't going to happen.

Moving the computer across the room. Missed the opening...so I figure it had something to do with the main event tonight. I guess I better get typing if there is going to much of review/recap.

Well...I'm 20 minutes late and I've tuned in to catch the three stooges act put on by Rowdy Roddy Piper and the Highlanders. I forgot they were in MSG this week after a three year absence. Look, it's the Spirit Squad who as Piper put it, "Traded in there balls for Pom Poms." The NYPD Pipes and drums make there exit and we're set for a six man tag team match after this commerical break.

***AD BREAK***

We're back:Match in progress. Piper is in and tags Robby. Who head butts the shoulder coming in. Now Robby down in an armbar. Tag out by the Spirit Squad. They continue to work the arm. Spirit Squad continues to work over Robby. Robby in a headlock working his way up. Mikey in tags to Kenny. Who still has Robby in trouble. 1...2...and out. Robby fighting back. Sunset flip to Johnny. 2 count. Johnny with the cut off move and into a chin lock. Piper is in! Cleaning house. Until Kenny comes in and puts Piper to the ropes. He shoots off the ropes and Piper back drops him into the other squad members on the outside. Robby and Roary hit a nice sling shot reversed suplex and Piper pins. 1....2....3! Piper and the Highlanders WIN! Now we're standing by with Johnny Nitro and Melina. Another big six person match tonight. They talk about Jeff Hardy saying things about the press conference. Jeff Hardy appears behind them painting. Johnny Nitro finally notices and kicks over which piss of Jeff who throws paint ton him. Yellow and Blue! He's on the ground.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Show review of Hell in a Cell HBK and Undertaker the first one. Edge is out to the ring with Lita. Edge says this is the last RAW you'll see John Cena. He's inspired so he wrote a "rap" for him to send him off. Sounds more like a rhyme but he reads it off. Wearing a cammo hat/hoody that is sideways to make fun of Cena. We're done with that...out comes Orton and then Nitro who's still covered in paint.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Out comes Hardy, Carlito, and Cena and the clear the ring. Ref gets them all in the ring. Bell rings and Hardy hooks up with Nitro. Nitro gets th advantage but quickly Jeff turns the tide. Hits the swinging drop in the corner then the drop of the legs to the bread basket. Tags out to Carlito. Who comes in and hits a few moves on Nitro before he tags to Orton. Ok, I'm actually watching this match. It's been great...way good. Until Hardy SLIPS on Carlito attempted spring board over the top rope in which he tumbles over the rope and barely hits Orton who sells it but Hardy is up first into spear by Edge on the outside.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Hardy in a half crab by Edge. Nitro tagged by Edge. Nitro in trapping th leg of Jeff Hardy. Headscissors take Nitro over. He tags to Orton. Who works his leg a bit. Tags back out to Edge. Quick tags. Shoot to the turnbuckle by Edge. Whisper in the Wind flying body attack. Tag! Carltio in and goes through the ropes. Nitro and Edge beat him like a dog and throw him back in for Orton. Orton tags to Nitro. Nitro working over Carlito. Headlock. Crowd tonight is divided for Cean. Crowd: Lets go Cena/Cena sucks and Go to Smackdown/Stay on Raw. Carlito gets Nitro down with reverse elbow. HOT TAG! Cena in! HOUSE OF FIRE! Orton behind Cena. Carlito on the intercept into the backcracker. Swanton to Orton. In comes Edge...pulled out of FU. Nitro punch. FU and STFU! Tap out! Cena, Carlito, and Jeff Hardy win. Preview graphic of Trish's farewell on RAW against Mickie James. I'd actually like to see a hand shake between the two but will it happen. It might considering they'll need a face female wrestler.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Hell in Cell: HHH and Chris Jericho. Cryme Tyme! There is going to be a mugging, Adventures? More like lessons in litteral crime. Vince talking to Shane on how he's going to be a winner tonight in his first ever MSG match. This will go all the way back to his grandfather and father. It will be the greatest victory.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Slam of the week: Masters goes down to Supercrazy! Masters and Crazy match two! Masters hammering Crazy! Chin lock on Crazy. Cross body block by crazy. Chop by Masters...shoot to the corner. Shoulder to the midsection by Masters. Shoot back across and elbow.to the face. Shoot back across and Crazy hits a drop toe hold. Couple of interchange moves and out of nowhere headscissors into a swing around with ropes into a sunset flip. 1...2...3! Super Crazy wins again! Lets look at the Marine again. Looks a lot better than See No Evil a LOT better. We see Trish checking her boot. It's her last Monday Night RAW. That match is next.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Smackdown Rebound. Booker and the Court help him keep the World Championship. Out comes Mickie James. JR: May be she's not pet coon goofy. WOW...check out the scrolling logo belt buckle! What a distraction! They lock up and do some quick chain wrestling of about four moves and two pins. Headlock by Trish. This match might be fair. Lou Thez press. Punches. Mickie up and hits an elbow in the corner after charge in. I've lost track of the match again...this isn't my night. Lita on the apron. Trish distracted still reverses into the Stratusfaction using Lita for the spin around. 1...2...3! Trish picks up her last win. She starts celebrating. Mickie comes back in...an hand shake and a hug. I called that one. A small crowd chant: "Thank you Trish." She says thannks for coming along for the ride. Thanks." Up next Vince and HHH.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Thiw seek in wrestling history the WWE was the first public gathering an arena for a LIVE Smackdwon as they scrapped the regular wrestling stories were replaced for one night to put on a night of entertainment for everybody. Unforgiven rundown. DX in the back...Cade and Murdoch wonder where they're going. A beatdown ensues with Shane, Bigshow, Cade and Murdock. Show Cobra clutches HBK and slams him on the hood of the car and throws him over the top of the car. HHH is slammed in the door of the limo. Vince walks in. It's a no hold barred match and it's next.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Vince out...he waits for HHH. DX music hits and HHH staggers out as he's bleeding from the ear. Doctor trying to prevent him from coming out. Vince taunting HHH as he's picking his shots. It is Vince in total control over HHH. Punching and kicking...they make there way to the out side. HHH to the ringpost. More shots to HHH. Rolls him in. HHH trying to pull himself in the corner. Give Vince the crotch chop. Vince...Pedigree! 1...2...and he's kicked out. HHH Hulking UP! Three shots to the head...whip the ropes. Spindbuster. Shane out. HHH gets rid of Shane. Going for the pedigree. Shane recovers and stops it. Here come HBK he's cleaning house! The Game is outside and found SLEDGY! No, cutoff. HBK chair shot from Shane. Vince wants to use the Slege hammer on HHH. Vince takes it to HHH head. 1...2...3! Vince WINS in MSG. Did anybody think he wouldn't? Vince, Shane, and Show standing tall again. Can DX be ready Unforgiven? DX layed out. Vince, Shane, Show vs DX this Sunday. Tune in.

Forgive me...I REALLY REALLY sucking eggs crappy tonight. Anyways...check ECW out tomorrow. May be you all can make sence of everything...or my personal train wrecks of RAW. :-D

I thought Raw was pretty good. The only FF moments were Masters (sorry Sups but CM just sucks too much) and the Marine bits.
But I heard something from JR that scares the hell out of me. During the Kane/Umaga schmozz JR said"this match will not be a masterpiece by any means". Hopefully he was saving up his "slobberknocker" quotient for the night because Flair/Kane vs. Umaga/Masters would piss me off.
Also I am afraid that Cena will stay. I think Cena is OK but badly needs to be retooled (get rid of the STFU and that dumb ass saluting) but Cena vs. Orton will suck. Hopefully the E has a better plan in mind.

When the first sounds from the ring were Finkel, I thought perhaps the counterrevolution had occurred and we'd get him using the descending mic for the evening. Flipped back to football once they had Lillian start singing.
When the Pipes and Drums came out, I was thinking it was really missing Piper. If this is Piper showing up for a one shot deal, it was good, although he should have come out playing his bagpipes. However, if Piper is going to be around through the first few weeks after his DVD comes out, it is going to get old fast. It will be interesting to see how they promote the Pillman DVD, which includes WarGame:The Match Beyond '91, in the coming weeks, as they really haven't done a good job promoting the History of the Championship DVD that came out last week.
JR's abomination about the sledgehammer being used would seem less hypocritical if it wasn't used on the person who brought said sledgehammer into the ring.
First half of the 6 man the crowd really didn't give a damn about the match.
Was surprised Vince never faced Austin at MSG.
Umaga doesn't seem to shy away from headshots.

Hands down, the favorite moment for Travis, Kathy, the Lovely Mrs. Tracker and me was rewinding and rewatching Jeff ruin the dive to the outside. We did about four times.

I don't think Trish is actually leaving on Sunday. I smell a swerve. Or maybe I just don't want to see that slick belt buckle only twice before she vanishes.

That main event was lame.

I love it when Cena gets a good "mixed reaction". Thanks NYC!
This PPV looks good on paper, but it's all steak, and little sizzle. Other than DX-McMahons, and who the hell cares about that anymore?
Was one of the Cryme Tyme guys wearing HBK's girly tank top??
Star of the night once again has to be the NYC crowd, it's worth tuning in just to see a crowd that hot (at least for everything besides Masters-Crazy).

Gotta love the respectful send-off for Stratus. Can't recall many stars being put over like she is. JR even called her a "model superstar," avoiding the use of the gimmicky "diva" tag to make it clear that Stratus has been a perfect employee for the company. Stratus might be the only diva to live with her dignity intact (no barking jokes, kids.)

The rest of the show was fine.

Yeah, it was a respectful send-off-- right up until Lawler made his obligatory "I hate to see her go but I love to watch her leave" line.

I don't know what the hell WWE's thinking with Cryme Tyme, either. Except their standard "if you're black, you're a criminal" line of thinking. (I'm not saying they do it with every African-American, but Shelton Benjamin's a model citizen and Lawler, if I recall correctly, implied otherwise on several occasions).

Man, for weeks I kept wondering why they didn't bring in Piper for a one-shot to give the Highlanders a rub. It was a total no-brainer and it's good to see that someone at creative realized it.

I'm sold on Unforgiven. Cena/Edge and Carlito/Orton makes this one worth the price of purchase and Nitro/Hardy (after their last match) cemented it for me. Kane and Umaga could be a really SICK match and I really don't see it ending at Unforgiven. That one needs to be blown off in a No-DQ match.

I wasn't the only expecting a completely tasteless angle to exploit 9/11 and I'm glad it didn't happen. Thank God they've got SOME self-control.

I'm happy Trish got a respectful send-off, but I don't hold out much hope for Sunday. Considering how much WWE loves to job people out in their hometowns, I'm not holding my breath for Trish getting anything but a beatdown at the PPV.

TEN YEARS AGO IN WRESTLING HISTORY: SEPTEMBER 1996
WWF: Shawn Michaels d. Mankind at Mind Games, one of the 90's best matches. Also, some guy named Steve Austin made it his personal mission to bring Bret Hart back to the ring.

WCW: The nWo prevailed in War Games with the help of a Fake Sting. The real Sting walked out on WCW, kicking off one of the biggest angles in the company's history.

Aw come on eke, ur not taking Cryme Tyme seriously? Obviously its meant to be a humorous thing, and I was gonna say "it will end up with the other dumb race-based gimmicks on Smackdown" but then again...Smackdown is not on UPN anymore.

I agree with the stereotyping of black guys by WWE being a problem. But I think Lawler's comments are based on Shelton maybe getting in trouble with the law during his youth.
And if you are from the old school, you might think that Trish SHOULD be jobbed out at the PPV. The "time honored tradtion" of doing the honors, and whatnot.

If she was in there with anyone other than Lita, I think you'd find most people agreeing with you. The fact that Lita was the rival for Trish over the years and is leaving soon after Trish does means that it makes more sense to give Trish the high send-off.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

and now that he's had his name dropped by Hogan on WWF TV, can we now expect to see an appearance by Roddy Piper at Wrestlemania? If so, maybe the WWF can sell off the surplus "I.C.O.N." T-shirts they got as part of the WCW deal.
