While we're pointing out loose ends, are we to assume that the "higher purpose" that Wade Barrett has been talking about is all just blown smoke? Otherwise I'd assume that Young would go renegade immediately and reveal any further dastardly plans and affiliations the Nexus has as soon as RAW is on the air to get revenge.

Unless, as the storyline would have us believe, the power behind it all is SCARY and Young is too smart to stick his neck out.

I still think the "higher purpose" is to force their way through the glass ceiling. That would explain why they've constantly insisted they have no problem with the WWE superstars and are concerned, instead, with WWE management.

Over the past several months, it has been repeatedly stressed that John Cena is the company's current golden boy. Jericho has brought it up recently, and before that, Batista stated it several times. As such, it's been WWE management's favourite son vs the group that has openly acknowledged their disgust with said management.

After reading the results, I think Backlash was a really "eh" PPV. It sounded both good and bad and, yes, sort of reminiscent of an old WCW PPV around 1998. Although the booking is SLIGHTLY better here, but still pretty bad.
