Thought Vince would have been the last one introduced. Lawler should have been on the team, but not in the last spot. Now, will this be a 7 on 7 match or a 7 on 7 elimination match? Latter is more appealing.
Why did Jericho break the walls due to the ropes in a triple threat? Can't be DQ'd.

I thought it was a good Raw and they seem to be heading to finishing the Nexus angle. I do think Khali being taken out to be replaced by Bourne is probably the best move since it was a strange moment. However, I can actually see Miz taking out R-Truth as well leaving two spots or Miz helping Nexus and revealing he is the man behind Nexus thus the firing of Danielson. What type of match are they doing with the Nexus/Raw Roster is elimination or pin/submission? Miz was awesome last night and I can see him waiting after SummerSlam to cash it in. I will say the Raw GM email is getting old and hopefully prior to SummerSlam, we figure out who that was as well since even my wife said how annoying that email notification is.

Loved the slow revelation of Team Cena and the capper of Bret Hart's inclusion. Even if he steps aside eventually, he got that pop, and I'm happy for him.

If there's anything the Nexus angle is missing is an old-school heel color guy. Someone to ride Cena. When Cena said the truce request was a test after all, that's when the new Hennan would yell "see, he's a liar!" Still, the angle becomes much, much more interesting now and allows a myriad of match possibilities to last for months and months. This is well done.

Let's not forget about "Mr. Gets Taken Out Before the Big Match" himself, R-Truth.

They seem to be doing a good job building to Summerslam after, I assume, having to shuffle things around following HHH's injury.

Great opening match, and great closing segment.

They can always do so next week. Discussion between Edge and Jericho before the Cenation Army was revealed would have ruined the shock of their participation.

Here is Chris Jericho's latest Tweet, Tweeted just minutes ago:

@IAmJericho RT @JohnCena Feel good after Raw No need to look over my shoulder anymore- Dont feel too good hambone. I still don't like u...

See? They're shaky allies. If Edge had a Twitter, conjecture something even more tentative would have been Tweeted to him.

I thought Raw last night had a couple good matches with the opening triple threat match and the match between Sheamus and Evan Bourne.

I am relieved that the WWE is starting to wrap things up with the Nexus angle heading into SummerSlam. The Nexus angle isn't the worst thing to happen but it is getting tiring and redundant just to see them come out, beat the hell out of people and constantly say they are looking at bigger things. I will be happy just to see Wade Barrett working individually instead of working with a stable that has way too many people.

Since Bret Hart has returned, does this mean he will return to Raw GM duties or this his last hoorah?

Overall, not a bad Raw as it had his matches and angles leading into SummerSlam.

Wrap up? This thing is just getting started. I find comments and sentiments like this interesting. I mean, how long did the nWo angle run? Years in multiple iterations. This is a major angle involving half of the RAW brand directly and everyone on the brand and potentially on Smackdown and NXT indirectly. We shouldn't be hoping it'll wrap up. We should be hoping it will escalate and get more interesting.

The Nexus attacked RAW at the beginning of June. It's been 6-7 weeks since this began and another 4 weeks to Summerslam. So we're talking about 11 weeks. This is an angle that is "going on too long?"

Summerslam should really be the kickstart of this thing. I mean, this is a war. Summerslam is the first full-fledged battle between the two armies. The Nexus isn't just going to break apart and disappear after one match. (I hope.)

Totally agreed, but we need to get these dudes in some actual matches. Especially Barrett and Gabriel.

Comparing this to the nWo angle is silly, though. The nWo had major stars leaving one company to go to another, the biggest babyface in the history of the business (which wasn't even arguable to that point at least) turning heel for the first time in a decade and a half, and the appeal of being the sort of storyline never before done in North American pro wrestling. It had established stars with charisma and mic skills. No one is wearing Nexus tees at the mall.

I appreciate that it is a very different way of introducing new guys, but ultimately I look at that group and I think to myself "Who are these guys?" I struggle to remember more than a couple of their names. And none of them has the kind of star power that makes them impossible to ignore. So I don't think this angle should run for the rest of the year at all. The nWo angle, like this one had the obvious flaw that eventually, they HAD to be incorporated into the main roster. The big stars in the nWo were fine, but the mid-carders suffered more for that association than they ever benefited, their betrayal became harder to forget about because they didn't have the personality to make you overlook it. Those who were suddenly just cowboys or in the filthy animals, alongside people they used to hospitalize, never got over again. Even the WWEPG generation is going to find it silly when perpetrators of gang-beatdowns become just like the rest of the boys a year from now. It smacks of stupid. I realize wrestling exists in the eternal present, but there has to be some kind of retardation barrier that doesn't get crossed.

Miz winning the briefcase is fine, but I still don't think he can carry his end in the ring at a main event level. He needs to develop from bell-to-bell far more than he needs to get any better on the stick.

I don't think that's the point. They're foot soldiers for Barrett. They make him a threat because he has a bunch of backup. WWE has done a good job of giving them all mic time during the big interviews but half of the guys in Nexus will be lucky to be cult midcarders when the group is over. But that's fine. It doesn't need to make seven main eventers, it just needs to make one (Barrett).

Well, they never got over again because they all sucked, except for Scott Steiner, who was the same heel he was in the nWo, and Konnan, who wasn't over until he was a babyface in the Wolfpac and stayed over doing pretty much the same hype man act and letting Tygress feel, THASS ENOUGH, even though he was on the political outs for most of the rest of WCW.

Those T-shirts have been only on sale for two weeks. Surely, someone somewhere, since those N shirts went on sale, has worn one at a mall. Perhaps you never will see a Nexus T-shirt at a mall, but who knows, perhaps you will. Who's to say right now?

It wasn't actually my goal to compare the Nexus to the nWo, but they were the easiest example of a major, long term angle involving multiple wrestlers that lasted a long time. At least a successful angle, initially. I could have also cited the Invasion but that wasn't successful or remembered fondly.

My real point remains the same: The Nexus is (or should be) just getting started. Not ending at Summerslam.

I also thought the 7th man was going to be Danial Bryan, and was sad to see that he wasn't mostly because I wanted to see how the crowd reacted to him.

I'll like team Cena a lot more if there is constant bickering and backstabbing the whole time, if it turns out to be 'Let's Go Team' the whole way than this isn't going to work for me.

This is probably the exact reason for Khali and it will probably look neat if done right. It probably also make R-Truth breath a little easier knowing he doesn't have to be the canon fodder before the PPV this time around.

... and I get that Santino is a comedy bit, but can't the guy know a couple of moves? He used to know some.

Highlight of the night for me: Darren Young has lost the appallingly stupid hair & glittery headband!! :-) He still needs to get to a stylist to get something decent, but it's still an improvement.

Why did we hand a microphone to Michael Tarver? He was trying to recite his lines, but with the mis-phrasing & omitted punctuation, it made no sense. If we're going to keep him as a warm body, let's keep the sock over his face, m'kay?

Bret Hart? Nnnno. I see the continuity in plotline from the silly attempted limo attack -- I just don't see how this could lead to anything useful.

Khali? Puhlease.

Edge & Jericho (especially!), & Cena all in the same tenuous alliance -- that's fun.

Best episode of Raw since the first night of the Nexus invasion. It was surreal watching all the heels trying to out-heel each other. Edge and Jericho fight amongst themselves before getting beaten down by Nexus and The Miz attacking Sheamus from behind and giving him a first-class heel beatdown. WWE's trying to keep the "no honor among thieves" axiom intact and I love them for it. I love it when heels look out for themselves at the expense of other heels.

I loved all the teases that went on tonight. I seriously thought Jericho and Edge were going to have a Losers Leaves Town match that would see Jericho future endeavored, even if it was a couple of months early. (And even though in the back of my mind I knew Jericho would want to lose such a match to someone who would actually benefit from it.)

Then I thought they were actually going to give Miz the WWE championship and was literally on the edge of my seat. I also thought the final member of CeNation was going to be HHH.

Speaking of HHH, I think he's going to end up playing into the Nexus storyline one way or another. Nexus has repeatedly stressed that their problem isn't with the WWE locker room or with the WWE Universe but with WWE management. And while HHH may not be viewed as management by the fans, his connection to the McMahon family has been acknowledged, so perhaps the reason Nexus hasn't unveiled their grand plan is because they're waiting on HHH to return. Whether it's as the leader of Nexus or as the man who single handedly saves the WWE with a sledgehammer, I don't know but I'm sure Nexus could have attacked HHH during his surgery and retired him permanently and people would shit all over it, bitching about how HHH had to be taken out by 7 guys and couldn't even do it in a match.

On a sad note, they've revealed a guest host for all then way in October, so we're not completely finished with that. On a sadder note, it's Toby Keith.

Bourne has improved against Sheamus at each outing. At that pace, he should pin him via distraction in their next bout.

Skip Sheffield's spear on... Jericho or Edge, I forget... looked more brutal than anything Edge, Batista or even Goldberg has ever managed.

Sheamus has truly become awesome. I think the only person who has improved more than Sheamus is The Miz. When Sheamus first showed up on ECW I thought he was a bit boring. When The Miz first started "hosting" Smackdown, I kept hoping he'd fall down the stairs and end up in a coma. I can't help but wonder which guy from Nexus that I could currently care less about might be the next big star. (Barret is exempt from those ponderings since I already like him.)

That very well could be. Something about Slater keeps giving me a Loose Cannon era Brian Pilman vibe.

Also, I forgot to mention in my original post... As much as I crap on John Morrison, I have to give him credit. That was absolutely the most beautiful split-legged springboard corkscrew blowjob that I've ever seen. I don't know if the fact that Dibiase was wearing pants qualified it as PG but if he could teach that move to one of the divas, she'd be able to give Jenna Jameson a run for her money.

Skip's spear looks awesome because he does it correctly and each of his shoulders are the size of Evan Bourne. He'll be the other guy to make it, if it's not Gabriel.
