Youre not the only one who thinks there is not only a solid mid-card gimmick there, but a decent wrestler too. His matches with Christian on ECW were good and it seemed like they were going to give him a push right before the wheels fell off of the whole thing.

Just think, he was doing the Jersey Shore months before the Jersey Shore aired to all of that press. Hell, he has even tweeted a few times to "The Situation" about who has better abs.

Regardless, his squash served no purpose whatsoever.

Ryder was on a roll until he hooked up with Rosa and they pretty much killed his "loudmouth who backs it up" character to "just a parody"
It's a shame. Like you said, he was having some good matches.

Learning Latin for 7 years was totally worth it for the geeky bit of excitement I felt to see a wrestler casually throw out Nil Satis Nisi Optimum on a WWE.com blog.

To expound on this point, I think more important than the "gas left in the tank" argument is that just as Hogan was the most marketable star in the WWF during the 80s, The Rock is by far wrestling's most mainstream attraction today.
