Great opening segment, I actually thought for a second they would do the match last night. It would at least make me think Shawn has a chance to win. If it happens at Mania, Shawn won't, and probably shouldn't win. Would he? Glad to see DX get a little more serious in their other skits considering the whole Shawn/Taker angle is a serious as it gets.

The mid card continues to baffle. Miz and MVP are still cruising along in a nice spot, but why do they continue to waste Swagger like this? What does this guy not have to be a big time player? And just as we think Kofi is done, he gets a pretty nice win and rub from Cena. Weird.

Jon Heder exceeded all expectations, having the face/heel dynamic with the two of them worked. (Though having 2 co-stars in a film where they aren't on the poster and are just part of a big supporting cast is kinda goofy...)

This appears to be what was supposed to happen, but what actually occurred was vastly more amusing. At least as funny as Eve's dropkicks.

    - Hunter pauses, waiting to be cut off by Cena's music, is not cut off
    - HBK gives Hunter a hand to the face to stall this, and walks past him towards the announce desk. Still no music.
    - HBK looks outside the ring, and screams towards the announce desk, telling them to play the music. Though not exactly those words.
    - After a few more seconds, Cena's music finally plays.
    - Thinking the camera is surely now on Cena, HHH walks over to where Shawn was and yells at someone, while HBK throws a fit
    - someone in the production truck finally switches off of the ring.

I noticed this too, although I though Shawn was yelling at the ref attending to Big Show. Nice botch there. Although this is the second week in a row where a visible "wrestler mad after a screw up" has occurred, which makes me wonder if they're going somewhere with this...

Nobody's saying it ... so I will: Hornswoggle was great again! As was The Miz!

Therefore I want a Miz DVD and a Hornswoggle DVD as soon as possible!

You think I'm kidding? I'm not! Hell, John Morrison's DVD is already on it's way, so why not?

Yes, I'm back! I know, I said I would never ever watch that crap again, but ... I just can't live without it, I guess.

No one remembers Philip "Tubbs" Michael Thomas? Creator of the single ugliest music video ever made?

He was awesome. I miss that show.

Every time a guy loses isn't a "burial". Swagger's top rope challenges are more entertaining this way. Imagine if someone came out and Swagger threw them out. Gee, wow. It would be so predictable and it wouldn't get him any more over. Remember when Christian used to throw temper tantrums after a loss? That was ten times lamer, but Christian has a great spot now and is over. If Swagger is good and consistent he will get another shot and this brief run of segs leading up to the Royal Rumble will be long-forgotten. If anyone got screwed this week it was MVP. He gets knocked out by Big Show and isn't even in the conversation leading up to the main event...Literally disappearing as if sucked into a wormhole. Someone saw real heat in a buildup of a US Title angle last week and apparently didn't like it.

On the topic of Miz, I do think he is an effective promo and did his best promo ever last week, but ring-wise he has a very long way to go. He seems to have no real natural athleticism or crispness to any of what he does, and I really don't see him even at the mid-card title level. This will probably be the year he breaks through or "Mister Kennedy's" it.

Ok, that was bad. But not anywhere near as bad as this (youtube.com). Hell, it's not even the worst (youtube.com) video made among 'Miami Vice' co-stars. I love cheesy 80's videos, but even I can only stomach a small portion of Don Johnson's singing career.

You both are crazy. HEARTBEAT is an AWESOME song. in fact, that whole album was pretty fucking good. Without the vocals, it very well could have been considered a classic. Look at who all worked on it... Tom Petty wrote a couple songs, Bill Champlin from Chicago, Chris Botti, Lenny Pickett from Tower Of Power, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers, Ron Wood and Dweezil Zappa all played on it. Shit, Don Johnson didn't REALLY do all that bad himself really.

Philip Michael Thomas, however... yeah, that shit was bad.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

When Show made his entrance for the tag match, the screen had text of WWE thanking the governor of Tennessee and noting RAW was filmed on location. Is that a state requirement? Has the RAW done this in other weeks?

Maybe Vince was doing a political favor for Linda in her campaign bid?

Man I was a kid when Heartbeat came out, but I remember it being a big TV event. If my memory serves me correctly, I think they had something like a half hour extended version that they played that evening. I remember my mother taping it OVER an episode of Saturday Nights Main Event that we had laying around (I think it was SNME.

The Tennessee governor is a Democrat, so likely not.

I think there were two Miz matches last year that showed he really could have potential as a single: a match with Primo Colon on ECW before Wrestlemania and his U.S. title win over Kofi on Rawthlisberger the night after Hell in a Cell. Both were long matches without Morrison there to do the heavy lifting (or heavy moving) and the Kofi match especially built really well to WWE main event well-timed big moves and nearfalls.

I seem to remember Don Johnson's "Heartbeat" being voted worst video of all time by either MTV or VH1 several years ago. Or maybe it was cheesiest video of all time. But you get the point.

I agree with HMD that Swagger is not necessarily being buried. In fact, if he's getting buried he sure is getting quite the showcase of a burial. He's basically getting his own custom segment every week. I thought burials were usally more of the nondescript beatdown variety.

But if Swagger WERE to be buried, that would be just fine by me. Now, this is coming from someone who has watched only 1 or 2 episodes of the ECW show, but to me he looks weird and he sounds awful. Sorry but I have a hard time taking heels seriously when they talk with a lisp. If he's getting any kind of heat it seems to be X-Pac heat at best.

Is there really something to this (the two have previously crossed paths in some way that I'm not aware of), or was it just for storyline purposes?

Did anyone else distinctly hear RVD say to Kevin Thorn something along the lines of hold onto the rope and I'll try and push you over ? This happened moments later. I recall Ken Shamrock having to prompt his 'sister' Ryan to slap him a few years ago.
