How big of a dick is Randy Orton?
I mean, who the hell would really notice that anyway? The fact that Orton threw a tantrum just drew attention to it. Why couldn't he just have yelled at him (or, I don't know, contructively critizited?) backstage?
I'm with you. The only reason it would make sense for Orton to get that mad about it on TV would be if the blown/missed/skipped spot was supposed to progress the angle somehow and now they cant follow their original scripted plan. But even considering all that, gimme a break. Randy Orton is just a plain ol' douche.

Honestly, I thought it made perfect sense for Orton to blast Kofi with that RKO, since Randy and Kofi were feuding as recently as two weeks ago, and it actually fit Randy's character as they've been touting Randy as "snapping" in mid-move because he's a psycho (like when he DDTed Cena). Is this a case of people wanting to see things because they are anti-Orton?
Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

I don't think it's uncommon for one wrestler to give another a "stiff" "receipt" to use industry terms. I don't think the RKO was especially vicious though, I agree with HMD who just thinks Kofi sold it well.
I heard from no less an authority than a guy who saw it on Big Dick Johnson's twitter before it was taken down that the finish was supposed to be missed deathpunt, missed Trouble In Paradise, RKO, and thus Kofi apparently forgot the entire finish, causing Randy to be like WTF.

I beat it once!
Tyson was easier to beat than Super Macho Man.
No way. Hell, Mr. Sandman was tougher to beat than Super Macho Man. Tyson was almost impossible, but I did it.

That seems to make sense. I also feel that the whole confusion started cos it took Legacy too long to interfere. When Kofi was standing over Orton in the corner, he finished his move, looked around and and then hopped back on, until finally DiBiase hit him in the back.
(edit: ok, now read the earlier post where was said that Kofi missed his cue there too..*shrug*)

Aye, in terms of the storyline I could easy see it as Randy trying to toy with his prey, getting pissed because even after the Legacy interference Kofi wouldn't stay down, then just cutting to the chase and RKO-ing the snot out of him and giving it "WTF were you thinking, screwing with the likes of ME you dumb schmuck".
Of course, if you're a giant douche and your character's a giant douche, it gives you a nice cover to be able be the dick you are and then say "hey, I was only acting!". How much was Randy ad libbing and how much was him being a dick we can only guess at. Probably a bit of A, bit of B.
I hope Kofi doesn't get sent back down the pecking order because of the screw-up, perceived or otherwise. His boundless enthusiasm has won me over, although any time he wants to get himself a new finisher is just fine by me.
The only problem I have is that if the alledged spot was "missed punt, blocked Trouble in Paradise, RKO" I'm curious as to why Orton did the"slither, punch the mat" thing he does before an RKO?
Has he set up the punt like that before, because I thought he just waited for the guy to try to get up then just ran at them.
Two things that occurs to me. 1, if indeed the finishing sequence was blown (which to me seemed too busy anyway for a triple threat match involving John Cena) why wouldn't Orton, as the veteran, take the ten seconds to remind Kofi to stay down, then hit his 3.0 backbreaker or something.
Secondly, it could just all be part of Orton's psycho character and nothing more. I'd like to hope that's what it was, but if Kofi gets eliminated in six seconds in a couple weeks, then I'll feel something's not right.
Cena can't be beat because he's some unholy genetic recombinate of superstars past. I mean, you might as well call him John "Realest of the Real, Sargent Rock - Cold - A - Mania" Cena.

Jericho. He must suck.
Well, Jericho last held the title in 2008. I don't remember much about his title reign. Hell, I don't even remember who he lost it to. I guess that's a reminder of how memorable his time as champ was - or how good my memory is. I'm gonna say it's more the former than the latter.

I think Kofi was supposed to be on the floor waiting for the death-punt-attempt, but was instead staggering around waiting for the RKO. Randy saw this and maybe tried to buy time for Kofi to get in place for the punt?

Not to go all Zapruder film, but Randy starts to chill in the corner for the run, Kofi keeps getting up, Randy keeps trying to shove him back down but Kofi stands up, so Randy switches to matpounding, gives a "fuck it" headshake, and RKOs him.

I would love to see Rey win the title again.
He lost to Cena at Survivor Series 2008 in Bahston. I had to think about that for a second. =D

If you look closely, Orton even mouths the word (and I assume tells Kingston) "punt" as the camera was close-up on Orton in the corner, awaiting Kingston to stay down presumably for said punt.
Was at the taping tonight for the December 23 show. They're taping nearly a week ahead due to the holidays and wanting to give everyone a couple of weeks off. For those of you who do get to watch it, I'll add some spoiler space here:
