Would the little girl be HBK's daughter ? - just a thought although she seemed a bit older than 5.

Jericho on being Canadian despite being born in the US depends really on him living there for a while or how he personally feels.

Kane was born in Madrid as his dad was in the army there, doesn't make him Spanish.

Those DX skits really were a travesty. I was also kinda pissed that there was no payoff for the Slaughter bits. I mean, they finally have guys like the Hart Dynasty in the company, and they don't bother to use them for a segment like this? I know they're supposed to be Smackdown guys, but it's not like that's stopped them in the past.

What an absolutely phenomenal way to kill what should have been a hot wrestling crowd.

Nobody was buying the Bret stuff. I know when they played his music they got their hopes up a tad, but they knew he was never showing up. Followed up by Jericho turning against them, the crowd wound up flat, and I don't blame them - this was awful.

They do this every time they go to Alberta, and it's going to kill the area. But at least Vince gets off, and that's what matters.

The real problem is that Canada is a big market for them probably close to Japan and Europe. Where those people are happy to get a live WWE, the Canadians crowd are kinda used to having a live event and want their opinion noticed. I do think Vince takes some pleasure screwing them over since they tend to piss all over faces and cheer for certain heels. Yet, they buy a lot of tickets and merchandise, so he should keep them happy, should.

Cena and Orton both got mixed reactions, but once Jericho popped up they were totally against John. It would have been smarter to do an angle with those two or Cena vs Legacy then bring out Jericho. Save him for something else instead knowing whoever goes against him is going to get booed. Also, Jericho bashing Canada just to keep heat is retarded. No one buys it and makes the character look stupid. Would it kill the Cena character to lose to Jericho? Part of John's problem is the Super-Cena crap. Its not the 80s, no cares about an unstoppable face minus the kids which in a few years will take a big Cena-dump and forget about him and probably cheer Edge or someone else.

I liked Sarge as a heel guest in Canada; first he comes out to salute the Canadians with their flag on the titantron but was soon crossed out.

Then he said he would have Celine Dion sing their national anthem but then Jillian Hall came out for the first time in a while.

Then "The Hitman" music plays and Hacksaw comes out. Sarge overall didn't really go for the manager's role as he came out to get some heat which I really didn't have a problem with because it was different.

I was almost disapointed with Legacy facing Mark Henry and Hornswoggle because Hornswoggle has now been a problem in making wrestlers seem a lot less credible. If he won it, I would have been throughly disappointed but fortunately Legacy won.

My favorite spot on the night was when Cena had Jericho up in the FU (excuse me, the "attitude adjustment") and then Orton came out and RKO'd Jericho from the position that Cena was holding him. Jericho is my favorite overall wrestler, but that was good tag move.

I thought overall, Raw was alright. I thought the Divas four way match was disappointing but what else is new. Beth Phoenix has not been incorporated a lot in the women's title scene considering she is the most dominate and unique diva in the WWE's lackluster diva division. I think the WWE needs to have her back at the front-runner of the divas.

Masters has returned but really hasn't stood out since his return. He put MVP in the MasterLock but what else is different compared to when he first started?

I am glad though that HBK is returning and will be somewhat of a breather compared to Trips, Orton and Cena being the only main-eventers on Raw; with Trips and HBK back, this will temporary take Trips out of the usual title scene which I think is good for what it's worth; maybe another feud with HBK and Triple H down the road (it would be better than the usual Cena, Triple H and Orton feud). I guess we will see what happens in the coming weeks for Raw...

Jericho is officially a dual citizen. He was born in New York while his father was playing for the Rangers, but grew up in Canada. He can (and does) claim to be either Canadian or American, depending on what kind of heat he needs to draw.

We had the thread about the event in Regina, where Jericho sucked up to the fans to get him in his corner, and it reminded me of the live event in Winnipeg earlier this year. I was wondering what Jericho would do to be cheered in his hometown, how it would affect his character, and the great thing is that he really didn't do anything. He still did the slow, emotionless walk down to the ring, and once in the ring he just stared at everyone in the crowd, looking around with those shifty eyes he does like he wasn't expecting to be cheered. The only thing he did differently was raise a single arm in the air after a few minutes of the standing ovation, which of course prompted even louder cheers. I thought that was neat personally, that he wasn't reverting to Y2J or changing his heel persona despite the reaction. Unfortunately, they can't seem to let things like that happen on TV.

That's the best they could come up with for HBK's return?? I chuckled at SummerFest, and Hickenbottom, but the rest was just embarrassing. Going from the MOTYC at Mania to this is just awful. I am fine with the match it sets up, as it keeps HHH out of the title match for a change, and gets Shawn back on Raw, but it is pitiful to think that this is how they chose to do it.

I saw KJames199 twice! (Of course, he told me in advance where and when to see him, since he knew Canada had a 15 minute tape delay.)

There are monkeys that could book The Miz better. They wouldn't even have to be particularly bright monkeys, either.

If you are TNA, why are you not going up there and sucking up to those fans? Canadians have been waiting to stick it to Vince for years now. Vince keeps taunting them, but sooner or later they have to bite back.

Jack Swagger is steadily becoming the image of an inbred Neanderthal.

It makes me want his opponent to kick his teeth out with the dopey grin and that ramp pose just adds to the image.
The lisp is the least of his worries.

He ought to be teamed with Dolph Ziggler who has his own irritating smirking mannerisms.

Even the biggest heel like Orton doesn't irritate me as much as the pair of them.

I was thinking the same thing recently, when I was at the WWE house show. We hardly ever get WWE, even though as a rule Canada is pretty rabid for wrestling (especially nostalgia acts). Meanwhile, TNA strongly prefers to run smaller markets, as there is less competition for the entertainment dollar and the advertising dollar. Well, why the hell isn't TNA running in Regina, Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Brandon, etc.? Seems like a win-win.

It's behind Lo Down's finisher (did it have a name?) on the scale of awesome.

I just watched the clips online, and as stupid, childish, and sitcommy as the DX part was, I still somehow found it entertaining. Shawn and Hunter are very comfortable on camera after all these years.
It was totally corny, but there was an element of fun to it that has really been lacking on WWE TV lately.

I actually saw The Midnight Rockers using that move (against Rose & Summers, I believe) on ESPN and was thinking the exact same thing.

On a vaguely related note, thanks to a match on AWA episode that followed that one, I'll never be able to see Shawn Michaels throw a superkick again without hearing Verne Gagne yelling OOOOOH! KARATE! :(

Move I remember the Midnight Rockers using was the RockerPlex, which was combination Suplex/Flying Cross Body Block. Power and Glory had the combination Superplex/Top Rope Splash.

Still don't think it is up there with an old Freebird finisher of Buddy Roberts throwing a guy into the ropes, backdropping him, with Terry Gordy catching him in the air and piledriving him (would love to find a clip of this move), but it is up there.

I had tickets to the show a couple of years ago only to have it cancelled once Benoit went all murder-suicidey. My plan was to wear a pink shirt and hold a "CRZ is WALKING" sign. When my cousin moved out of town, I lost my last wrestling amigo.

It makes sense, as the DVD has been out a few weeks and the company has squeezed every last penny they could out of the Flair Farewell. Being in the ring is a drug for Ric, so you knew it wasn't over.
