I hated RAW as a whole, but the one part that bugged me was DiBiase and Rhodes in the ring during the count out. Shouldn't the ref had told them to leave? Seeing them in the ring made me realize SOMEONE was coming down. lazy, lazy, lazy.
Every time I want to give Raw a chance, they open the show with a cringe-worthy segment, and then recap that segment 4 times throughout the night. None of the beat down on Batista really looked painful until the quick cut they did with the arm break. And when he did it, the Crowd went mild. I think people cared more when Kurt Angle broke Scotty 2 Hotty's ankle.
I just don't get Batista's promo. "YEAH I WON THE TITLE, AND THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING ORTON, NOW I'M GONNA HURT YOU!" Why should the fans care about the title when the CHAMPION seems "meh" about the belt?
Glad Vickie is gone. She was good as Edge's hubby, but really, I think the best way to shape up Raw is to have no GM. I really liked WCW's vague executive board. Lord knows it would save time to just have the commentators announce matches being made. Plus we would stop getting retarded situations like the champion being injured outside of a match by his challenger and then almost losing his title by forfeit.
Are there different writers for Raw and Smackdown?
Originally posted by i before eFor a company that talks about being entertainment every 30 seconds, there really isn't much of it in their programming. Where to start? Legacy finally gets to look like somewhat of a threat in the first ten minutes, only to look like a stable composed of Duane Gill, Barry Horowitz and Barry O at the end of the show by HHH (aka Superman, Jesus and The Incredible Hulk combined. The awful and , lets face it, embarrassing use of Vickie Guerrero. Mediocre wrestling; boring, soulless interview time; and a complete lack of character development. The list goes on and on. I am not trying to be all smarky or make some kind of protest, but RAW just doesnt seem to be worth watching any more. Smackdown still can bring it once and a while, and ECW has been kind of interesting lately, but for some reason RAW is just terrible week in and week out. The smark conspiracy theorist in me thinks its possible that management has decided to let RAW be HHH and his amazing friends playground so that he only kills one brand instead of the entire company. The realist in me thinks that wrestling as I knew it is dead, long dead, and this is all that is left.
I have to admit I like your comparisons with Duane Gill, Barry Horowitz and Barry O to how Legacy is when Trips comes around.
I didn't get a chance to see much of Raw because of other things that situations but I did see how they looked pretty fierce and more credible when they "took out" Batista (I heard Batista is out again soon and going to need surgery on a torn bicep or something of the other).
This should be a different starter topic but what really is the point of Batista being champion if he supposedly going under the knife again? Please, bring back Kennedy.

What the hell is up with the continued employment of Lillian Garcia? Bitch fucks up night in and night out. If they need a looker in that position, instead of say, someone who actually knows what they're doing, they can still get a random whore who at least has the wherewithal to properly read off the cards they feed her.
I also like the Cena-Miz-Show 3-way feud. After the assault on Show, I'm guessing Miz is solidly a Tweener now.
I think Big Show is the in-between guy because he wants to kill Cena with hard work, Miz is the lowest lifeform in this scenario.

That would be cool, but Flair got kicked in the head so I don't know how he can't be gone for a month minimum (the Shane McMahon recuperative powers ETA) unless they just say Orton didn't get all of it.
So, we can keep the Evolution story rolling even though it died three years ago and wasn't a great stable anyway.
Not sure how Evolution can be considered anything less than a gigantic success. It
- led to the biggest money Wrestlemania to that point for the culmination of the group, the breakup feud between Triple H and Batista, - provided the heel half of the best year of in-ring Raw ever had in 2004, - was the rare WWE long-term plan that actually did what it set out to do: it took two midcard guys and brought them up to not only world champion main event status, but two bona fide Wrestlemania-headlining acts.

Yeah. Raw's head writer is Brian Gewirtz, Smackdown's is Michael Hayes, they each have different people under them. But Vince/Stephanie determine the directions for both shows.

To set up vacant title intrigue, I guess -- scramble on Raw? Possibly because both he and Orton are suspended and they needed circumstances to end up with the belt on neither Randy nor Dave.
Even though I was there live, there were a couple of things here I wanted to see on TV before I commented on. Looks like Bourne's actual injury was his right ankle, so they spent the match working his left.
