Kept wondering where the Raw thread was, then I remembered geemoney was gonna be there live in Buffalo tonight. Doesn't look like anyone else is starting a thread, so figured I would.

I didn't write up the show (hopefully someone else has done that and can post shortly) but a few thoughts:

--the only thing missing from the Big Show demolishing Cena was The Miz slithering in there at the end, covering Cena, and demanding a referee count. Would have been a simple thing that added SO much to it.

--I can see it now: "Batista, you care more about your precious title shot than your friend? That's why I cost you your match." Heel turn Shane and another maddening game of "forget who was beating the crap out of you three weeks ago" to come, I predict. That said, it's a pretty good storyline -- at one point or another people thought Shane, Steph, and Batista were all going to turn. That's the sign of some smart writing.

--good to see MVP still on the peripheral.

--no idea where they're going with the Matt Hardy storyline, but I'm intrigued.

--WhyTF was Jared there again?

Raw has some problems right now. Dead crowds.

I love the Big Show, he's way over-exposed also right now with horrible knees, he can barely get in the ring now. Unless the Big Show is going to do something to get Miz over, Cena-Show is going to be awful.

Getting rid of Shane McMahon for a few months with a broken ankle was okay, but Orton missed his ankle by a foot with the steel steps.

Carlito getting another mid-level push? Good.

And please can we Regal back as GM somewhere and get rid of Teddy Long??

Raw has a lot of problems right now, I think Smackdown ended up getting the best of the draft, which was not the intention of the WWE.

Some thoughts:

- With the dig on Vickie Guerrero (which was, at least, partially hilarious), is Santino now a face? I think Santina already is.

- What is the Miz's gimmick? Is he a smark, so to say? With the dig on Cena, and another wonderfully backhanded comment about the movie script, as well as the dig about Cena being just a product of the WWE machine catering to the kiddies, it all seemed like something one of the writers read on some website and decided to put into the script. In any case, they picked a good candidate to carry the gimmick if that's the case. The only thing I would've asked for is if he was somehow a part of the beatdown, it probably would've done him good. But I'm willing to wait.

- Speaking of that beatdown, it was one of the most god-awful boring beatdowns in a long time. I totally agree with Show being overexposed.

- I'm not sure if Regal attacking MVP was an elevation of Regal or a de-elevation of MVP. Hopefully it's the former.

- I'm intrigued by the Chavo-pulls-the-strings-on-Vickie segment.

- Is Brian Kendrick being punished again for some sort of drug-related/behavioral issues?

- I'm glad that Shane is now out the story for a bit. The recent portrayal of Shane as Hogan, Batista, and HHH all rolled into one is ridiculous. Even in the handicap match, he kicked all their asses and only his own missed elbowdrop led to the demise. And that was a pathetic stairs shot would've been far better if Orton had not clearly missed Shane's "ankle" by about a foot.

- The lack of WRESTLING talent on Raw is worrying. There hasn't been a decent match on Raw since the draft, methinks.

Yeah I was there live....and it probably wasn't much better there than it was on TV. It started off OK, but just went downhill from there. No good matches, Shane McMahon and his ridiculous ability to have 80% of the offense while he fights the three biggest and baddest heels on Raw, it just felt like the show had no focus this week and stuff was thrown out there with no context.

I think Raw is just treading water till HHH gets back. Orton and Legacy are going to run wild til HHH and HBK reform DX and destroy them. I love the fact we have a legit stable running things which usually helps elevuate talent like MVP, but if this is all for HHH to get a hero's welcome after a few months then its a waste of time.

Smackdown is a better show and I don't think that was the plan when they started the draft. The people they put on Smackdown are the wrestling workhorses for the company and wrestlers people are generally more interested in. Their current roster is good enough for me to buy a ticket to a Smackdown house show instead of going to a Raw one in the near future.

Even if Orton doesn't move, the flying elbow on the table was still going to come up about a foot short. You almost get the feeling the day after Vince dies or retires he's going to book himself a world title reign.

well, as bad as that was in many ways, and as bad as Shane can be, he's still better than that "other" kid of a wrestling company owner as a wrestler. And The Heat Machine was champ a bunch of times.

I watched in pain last night. Orton's stares rather bore me. Why didn't Cena get it over with and cry when Show came out. I always liked Miz, but this needs a payoff that does not involve Miz getting destroyed. I am guessing that won't be happening, and Cena will tune up against Miz before his match with Show.

and what is the deal with Maryese (did I spell that close to right?). She poses more than any wrestler I have ever seen. Is that her thing? Cause it's as boring as Orton's stares.

Greg wasn't a singles champion until late in his career when they created the AWA TV Title for him, while Vince's off-spring has been European Champion previously in his career. Only difference is the multiple tag titles that Greg held, while being a tag champ would probably be beneath being a McMahon.

I will have to totally agree; the only thing that was consistent was how short the matches were (the highlight may have been the dark match between Goldust and Chavo). There were no clean or good wins for Legacy or Pricless for that matter which gave them no credibility. Not the worst Raw I have been to, but definitly not the best.

I hate to open this can, but MVP now feuding with Regal a week after it looked like he would be in a mini feud with the champ HAS to be seen as a step backwards. Regal hasn't had a serious push that lasted beyond a few weeks in years. I like the guy, but hot for a feud to get a fresh face over, which this company is in desperate need of. Especially with Shane on the shelf, wink wink.

I was waiting for Miz to slip in at the end of the beatdown and score a cheap heat "pin", but that was too much to ask. What an awesome promo, though. He says what I feel!

I really didn't like the way the WWE is starting a new feud by having William Regal interfere with MVP's match. To me what that was say was "Okay Regal; you haven't had a feud in awhile so you are going to trip MVP and that's the way the new feud is going to start". There are other ways and a lot of them not too difficult to start a fresh feud with someone else than just tripping them. I guess Batista will be feuding with Orton (again) and had to give MVP and Regal something to work around.

I think MVP's match with Orton establishes him as a high-card face. Whatever the rationale, an MVP/Regal angle sounds utterly awesome. I'll take it.

The main event ain't doin' nuthin' for me right now, and Dibiase/Rhodes remain bland when they beat MVP and Batista on weak endings without their finishers.

The Miz needs a time limit.

If it weren't for Kofi, we wouldn't watch RAW, but I can't deprive the missus of her favorite wrestler.

These things are exactly what turned me off about this Raw. It's nice that they have guys like Miz and MVP interacting with the ME talent, but then MVP gets shuttled off to a mid-card feud with Regal(who I actually like), and then Miz is completely forgotten during the dull Cena beatdown by Show. At least with the midcard guys they look like they are trying to elevate on Smackdown I have hope that they'll really get put over, and in a big way, not just jobbing constantly once they fued with the likes of Cena, Batista, and HHH.

This is exactly how they brought Jericho back in last year. Remember his "ME WANT TITLE MATCH" promos directed towards then champ Randy Orton? Then when he finally got the match, JBL ran in and attacked him, and his title feud with Orton was forgotten and he feuded with JBL for awhile instead. Then I think his awesome feud with HBK started shortly after and he's been World Champ/main event/upper-mid card ever since.

Long story short: I'm not worried about MVP's so-called "stalled" push yet.

I simply will not stand for Maryse bashing! Although if ANYONE is gonna be the first-ever Diva to have been both Women's Champion and Divas Champion, I'll take Mickie James over Michelle McCool anyday. Please, Lord, let Maryse drop the pink butterfly to Mickie before McCool takes the gold belt from Melina.

These last two weeks, I'm reinstituted my pre-Road to WrestleMania mid-RAW nap. Wake me when Smackdown's on and John Morrison is wrestling Chris Jericho.

I'm not that worried yet either. The thing about Jericho is he has been an established just below ME guys for years, so I figured he'd get back on top. How many times, though, have we got our hopes up that they'd really try to elevate an upper midcard guy like MVP and they haven't pulled the trigger to give them a real chance as a top guy?
