Trouble is, it was Orton who violated the No Physical Contact rule on Smackdown. He physically provoked Triple H with that long, boring beatdown. It carries over. Triple H was allowed to retaliate as long as it was in the confines of a WWE arena. Which is why Orton stayed home.
As of last night, it's Triple H who's the impatient dummy here. If he had been patient and kept the violence within the arena, legally he'd have been in the clear to so whatever he wanted to Orton. If he had to wait until WrestleMania to do so, so be it. But no, he just couldn't wait. Instead he went to Orton's home and commited breaking and entering, vandalism, assault, and whatever else the cops can book him for.
(Of course, the biggest dummy of all? This Guy [points thumbs to self] for trying to make sense of this angle.)

Clearly the belt is a tertiary concern here. Orton has turned this into a bureaucracy game while HHH is avenging the in-laws. At least the Edge title bout has a guy (Cena) who just wants the belt.
I'm no fan of the no-touch wrestling clause. It doesn't build suspense for me, even when I was a young fan. This newest angle makes the Assassin less Cerebral, which, one supposes, Orton planned. But Orton can't get the belt if Hunter isn't defending it at WM, so arresting him does nothing (as it never does in the wrestling world). No one looks clever here, nor do they look savagely angry. We got a month left of this, and I can't see them elevating any tension to WM. I fear it's going to plateau or, worse, deflate before we get there.

Agreed -- it's basically all a PR stunt, designed to raise greater awareness about the WM PPV. That's why they always seem to induct folks who are meaningful to different demos in the WWE target audience. For example, they'll grab one mainstream celeb, and then an ex-champ from the Pacific Northwest, then an ex-wrestler from the South, etc.
Nothin' wrong with that approach. Obviously, the WWE seems happy with the results.
Not sure how I feel about this. I loved Koko in Memphis too, and loved the Ghostbuster finisher in WWE, but he rarely used it in meaningful matches because he always lost. Always. That's the problem to me. If I can't remember ONE significant victory in the guys's WWF run, how is that HoF worthy? I liked the guy, but It just doesn't make sense. No, you don't have to be Stone Cold, or Hogan to get in, but do you not draw the line somewhere? If you need to reward a guy for his good service, that's why they invented Legends contracts.
On an unrelated note, Flair better not wrestle next week.

Didn't he and Owen win a match or two as High Energy? Granted, it was as a tag team, and not as a singles wrestler, but I vaguely remember being on the winning side once or twice.
Yeah, he didn't have a career with multiple world titles, but I don't remember being in any REALLY boring matches. He was a solid worker, from what I remember, and that means alot to me. I have zero problem being in the WWE's "Hall of Fame."
Now, if it was Max Moon or Giant Gonzales getting in, I'd be very confused.

I can't really add anything to this that hasn't already been said, but the show was pretty good...but the end bit with HHH and Orton didn't sit well with me.
I thought I read that Koko B. Ware was a real badass heel in the independants...rather, the territories, before he joined the WWF...kinda like the Sheepherders. Luke and Butch were badass mofo's before Vince turned them into faces.

Did anyone else notice that the screaming when HHH busted through the door was NOT Orton's wife? It was clearly pre-recorded and looped. She was just standing there playing with her hair. What, can't she scream on cue?
Every time they do one of these live-from-somebody's-house bits I hope for another Pillman-Austin-send-you-straight-to-hell classic. I guess I have unrealistic hopes?

Yeah, she really didn't do much of...anything at all. Didn't they just have a baby in July or around there? Where's the baby? I'd say if someone busted in my house with a sledgehammer and I had a 6-9 month old in the house I'd probably be inclined to fight. | CRZ

This made me laugh out loud. (CRZ and StaggerLee's exchange, not the sketch so much)
Can we rule out Austin v. Jericho yet with Austin being cast as one of the villians in The Expendables?
