I'm normally ambivalent toward Michael Cole but his calling of the end of the main event was horrible. He sounded like he was calling the sixth inning of a mid-season baseball game with no emotion what-so-ever.

After Jericho took the steel ring from the cage, I kept expecting to see the cage somehow come apart and Batista fall through, landing on the floor and winning the match. The look on Batista's face afterwards seemed to me like shock at having finally won the title after such a long chase, only to lose it so quickly. I'm wondering if it will lead to the obvious heel turn or if they'll go a more subtle route with a loss of self-confidence first.

I haven't enjoyed the last 30 or so DX reunions but I was laughing out loud last night, possibly because a good portion of the jokes were directed at themselves.

Orton's arms look horrible. Looks like he fell in a box of tattoos. This greatly hurts his appeal for me. I was OK with the neck art and the random arm design. But now he loses the golden-boy angle. I have an association with that much artwork, and Orton's character doesn't fit it. It's just wrong for him.

Count me in as those who were psyched Jericho won. Of course, this just set shim up to lose to Cena at Survivor Series, but another (brief) title run for Jericho is better than none at all.

And Santino rules. A show geared around Jericho and Santino for one hour would keep me glued to my set.

"Marriage is like that show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, but it’s not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."

It appeared to me that they laid a couple subtle and not-so-subtle bricks in the foundation for another Shane-Stephanie feud. Adamle claiming Steph undercut everything that Shane said; Steph asking Shane to keep her in the loop. I think McMahon v McMahon is a-coming again!!

Meltzer's theory is that it will possibly be Steph/Hunter vs Shane/Vince.

I'm tired of wrestling angles centered around ownership/control of the company (I actually hate all on-air mentions of "the company"). I hope this doesnt get too far into that.

While I agree, I understand them since:

1. You know the talent isn't going anywhere
2. You know the talent likely won't get injured
3. You can just use wrestlers as surrogates

Didn't this alraedy happen?? like in 1999 or 2001(Can't remember the year) when Triple and Steph took over the company?

Sounds like the writing staff is outta ideas, so they are recycling old storylines.

Well, considering they are now "booking for the kids' market," those viewers were like not watching (or maybe even alive) when they did that angle the first time.

Technically, Shane and Vince were never united against HHH and Stephanie. When Stephanie turned evil, Vince and Shane left for months. And when Shane returned, he aligned himself with the evil Big Show. Vince returned as the babyface against both Shane and Stephanie, but ultimately turned heel himself.

Plus, back then it was a completely fictional angle.

While I am hoping for a screw job finish at SS so Jericho keeps the belt (or dare I say, pinfall win) I just don't see it happening. Batista worked so hard to finally get the belt back, but shockingly loses a week later. Then Cena swoops in and undeservedly takes Batista's rematch and title. Seems like the logical path to WM 25. Jericho may ahve to settle for MITB.

I expect a three- or four-way match, giving the main event a "survivor" touch of its own. That way they could protect Cena a bit. Let's say Cena, Jericho, Batista, and Orton.

Four-man elimination match, perhaps? Or would that not protect Cena much?

The WWE seems to save elimination matches for the Chamber, and I certainly don't think Cena needs to go into that just yet. I'd love to see an elimination-style match for a singles title, but they're more likely to use a "fatal" format where the first pin wins.

Gotcha. Didn't know if your comment about a "Survivor" touch was in relation to an elimination match.
