TONIGHT: Happy 800, Raw! You donít look a day over 477. Morrison & Miz take on Cryme Tyme in the ring and Beth Phoenix takes on Kelly Kelly. Also recently announced, Kane goes one-on-one with Evan Bourne. And weíll probably get to hear from champion Chris Jericho, and just how he feels about facing Shawn Michaels at No Mercy in a Ladder Match.

-WWE Open.

-The World Title belt was hanging from the rafters, with a ladder set up in center ring. The lighting was dark, and Chris Jerichoís music hit. He came down to the ring, as usual, in a suit and tie. Michael Cole immediately plugged that it was the 800th episode of Monday Night Raw. Jericho got into the ring and climbed to the top of the ladder. The background lighting on the crowd was red, in a cool visual. Jericho reviewed what happened at the end of the show last week. He accused the fans of blindly believing everything HBK said. He said just because Michaels says something, doesnít make it true. Jericho said he, on the other hand, is an honest, good man. He said he always tells the truth. Well, more like ďtruthinessĒ probably. Jericho said at No Mercy, at the end of the match, the last thing weíd see is him taking the belt off the hook, which he did. Jericho said HBK already disfigured him, and scolded the fans for cheering that. He said he still walked out as champion at the end of the night. Jericho said HBK has trapped himself in a corner, requesting a ladder match. But all that has done is give Jericho another weapon of destruction. Before he could finish that thought, Randy Orton came out. Ortonís arms, full of tattoos, look terrible.

Orton was delayed in interrupting Jericho, then said he owes Orton something because Jericho wouldnít be champ if it werenít for Orton. He said whoever is champ after No Mercy would be running on borrowed time. Jericho said Orton had a big mouth and canít back up what he says. Y2J said heíd give Orton a fat lip, just like he did to Rebecca Michaels. Orton said he talked to Mike Adamle earlier in the day and to protect him, no one can hit him (and he canít hit others either). If someone hits him, that person will be suspended. Orton said Jericho tends to get what he wants and Jericho said he wants to get away from Orton right now because heís sick of him. As he left the ring, Orton told Jericho he would be champion again, and long after Jerichoís days in the business are done. Orton told Jericho to take his ladder with him, then threw it in the aisleway. As Orton was going to leave, CM Punkís music hit, and the former champ came out.

Punk got in the ring and went forehead-to-forehead with Orton. After a pause, Punk slapped Orton once, then twice. Mike Adamle came running down the ramp telling Punk to knock it off. Adamle told Punk he defied one of his edicts (who talks like that?!), and as a result, heís suspended indefinitely. He said theyíd talk about it in his office. Then Shane McMahon and his stupid dance came out. Shane said he knows Mike is doing some on-the-job training here, and he said when Punkís emotions ran wild, itís what they call in the business ďa receipt.Ē Shane said he was officially overruling Adamleís suspension of CM Punk. Orton got in Shaneís face about the decision, but Shane said he deserves respect. Shane told Orton that Adamleís edict about Orton hitting anyone and getting suspended starts now, then asked the third-generation superstar to leave the ring. Shane said since Punkís adrenaline is up, Punk will have a match tonight. Itíll be against Cody Rhodes. Shane tried to read Adamleís mind about the main event....then made Jericho & JBL vs. Batista & Shawn Michaels. Well, that kinda cut the balls off Adamle. The promo from the top of the ladder was once unique, but its been done to death. Jericho and Orton didnít show that much chemistry together in there. Not a great opening segment.

[Commercial Break]

1- CM PUNK vs. CODY RHODES

A couple of lock-ups went nowhere. The two traded forearms, then Punk caught Cody with a back elbow. Rhodes was able to toss Punk out of the ring. Punk laid some kicks in, but while on the outside, Cody reversed the momentum. Cody hit a cross-body inside the ring, but Punk rolled through for two. Kick to the chest of Cody. Cody got out of a GTS attempt, and went to ringside to reccover.

[Commercial Break]

Cody was working over Punkís ankle and leg out of break. Punk brought his knees up and nailed Rhodes in the face. Punk applied the ankle-lock, but Rhodes was able to make the ropes. Heís showing a lot of intensity here. Hard kicks all over Rhodesí body, then a knee-lift. Knee in the corner, then a GTS for the win.

WINNER: Punk, at 10:36. Solid match. Punk upped the intensity, which was nice to see.

After the match, Ted Dibiase and Manu came out to attack. Kofi Kingston made the save for Punk.

-Still to come on the 800th episode of Raw, Jericho & JBL vs. Michaels & Batista.

[Commercial Break]

-The Cincinnati Bengals (well, not all of them) were in the front row of Raw.

-The Smackdown Rebound aired (awful early for that, isnít it?).

-Adamle told Shane that he was embarrassed about being overruled out there, but Shane assured him he was doing a great job. Kane barged in and said a special hello to Shane. Kane said he appreciated being put in a match with Bourne tonight, but he wants Mysterio. Adamle said itís already been made for No Mercy. Kane told Shane to say hit to his Mom for him. Adamle told Shane that he really stood up to Kane, didnít he? Adamle then asked Shane about Kane knowing his mom. Shane ran down their history and said it was a perk of the job.

-Kelly Kelly was flirting with a tech guy, but Beth Phoenix and Santino walked up. Santino was wearing a face-guard. Beth was mad that Kelly was laughing at them last week. Santino then did his Batista imitation (the fireworks thing on the way to the ring) and made fun of Big Dave. Batista walked up and Santino let out a lady-like scream. Beth told Batista if he gets involved, Santino will take him out. Santino was saved by his ring music and he scampered away to go to the ring.

[Commercial Break]

-Santino was in the ring, and he had the Honk-A-Meter with him. He was interrupted by Deuceís music, and he came out. All that time we were expecting him to be repackaged....and they came up with NOTHING for him? Santino told Batista to watch him beat Fonzie- ďThe Happy Days are over.Ē

2- SANTINO MARELLA vs. DEUCE

It was all Deuce in the early going, but Santino rolled Deuce up out of the corner to get the pin.

WINNER: Santino, at 1:14. Well, at least heís not walking out on every match.

Santino told Kelly Kelly Kelly that sheís going to lose to the woman that orders him to go buy the contraceptives....Beth Phoenix. Beth then came out to give Santino a congratulatory kiss.

-Rey Mysterio gave Evan Bourne some advice backstage.....his match with Kane is next.

[Commercial Break]

3- KANE vs. EVAN BOURNE

Bourne got a nice kick to the face of Kane. They went back-and-forth for much of the early part of the match. Bourne went for a tornado DDT, but Kane was too powerful. Bourne still was able to come back and Bourne moonsaulted onto Kane on the outside. Bourne barely caught Kane with his legs on that one. Cole called it the ďswashbuckling styleĒ of Evan Bourne. What the hell does that mean? Back in the ring, Kane tossed Bourne up and put a right hand into Bourneís throat. Tilt-a-whirl back-breaker by Kane, then another one. Powerslam by the big man. Impressive power stuff, then a chokeslam ended things.

WINNER: Kane, at 5:04. Decent enough match, and the right result. Bourne wasnít over-matched.

Kane went to go for another chokeslam, but Mysterio came out to help. He did....at first. But Kane was just too much for him, and he ended things with a chokeslam. Kane called him a coward, then left the ring.

-Shawn Michaels & Batista take on Chris Jericho and JBL tonight. Hey, remember when HBK and Batista were feuding over how Flairís career ended?

-Jamie Noble was begging Shane McMahon for another match with William Regal when Dolph Ziggler came in and introduced himself to them. Randy Orton interrupted after Dolph left and told Shane that what he did out there was not cool. Shane said that for what Orton did to Punk, he got off easy. Orton said it would be a real shame if he and Shane got on each otherís bad sides. Shane agreed, leaving Randy to stew.

[Commercial Break]

4- BETH PHOENIX vs. KELLY KELLY

Kelly did a flip on the top rope for a wrist-lock take-over. Beth powerbombed her right into the corner. Beth worked Kellyís arm. Kelly fought back and did a cross-body off the middle rope for two. Santino tripped Kelly up then got on the apron. She dodged a Beth clothesline (as did Santino), but Kelly rolled Beth up for three.

WINNER: Kelly, at 2:58. Kelly makes me nervous when she goes for those high-risk moves.

Santino and Beth were going to take Kelly out in the ring, but Batista interrupted. Curiously, Beth stepped right up to him. Santino took a few punches at Batista, but he shook him off and speared Marella.

-Cole and Lawler talked on camera and we got some highlights from the Dirt Sheet as well as Cryme Tymeís Word Up, both available to watch on WWE.com.

[Commercial Break]

5- JOHN MORRISON & THE MIZ vs. CRYME TYME

Morrison missed a hard right hand, JTG punched him then danced. Miz hit JTG from behind, allowing Morrison to get back on offense. JTG made a blind tag to Shad, who lifted Morrison over his head and let him drop. Is there a difference between ďhighest-rated show on WWE.comĒ and ďmost viewed show on WWE.comĒ? Both Morrison & Miz got dumped to the outside while CT celebrated. Break time.

[Commercial Break]

They showed how Miz turned the tide during the break. Miz hit his corner clothesline on JTG. JTG fought out of the heel corner, but Miz got a drop-toe hold to prevent the tag to Shad. Shad finally got the tag and the crowd seemed really behind him. Big scoop slam on Morrison. Miz, on a distraction, rolled Shad up for two. With the ref distracted, Morrison kicked Shad in the back of the head. Miz made the pin.

WINNERS: Miz & Morrison, at 9:47. Iíve really been impressed with Cryme Tyme in the ring lately. They put on a pretty good match here with Miz and Morrison.

-Batista & Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho & JBL is still to come.

[Commercial Break]

-Chris Jericho and Lance Cade were in Mike Adamleís office. Jericho told Adamle this was a test from Shane and Shane wants Adamle to stand up to him because what he says and what he means are two different things. Jericho had an idea for the main event, but the camera cut back to the arena before we could hear it.

-Cole and Lawler previewed No Mercy.

-We saw ďEarlier TodayĒ at Dave and Busterís, Charlie Haas was paying tribute to one of his favorites: Mr. Perfect. He then put on a blond wig and said this was the perfect tribute. Haas, with Perfectís theme playing, missed shots at basketball, missed golf swings, did some slow-motion Dance Dance Revolution, and ran into a server while trying to catch his own pass. Haas said that proves there is only one Mr. Perfect. He then did a slow-motion gum swat that ended up in some ladyís salad. That was pretty funny.

-The main event is next.

[Commercial Break]

-A ring crew member was talking to Lillian Garcia, and she announced that the main event would now be a 2-on-3 handicap match.

6- CHRIS JERICHO & LANCE CADE & JBL vs. BATISTA & SHAWN MICHAELS

I guess we shouldíve known something was up when Cade showed up in Adamleís office with his tights on. Cade and Michaels faced off first. Michaels slapped Cade and they brawled in the corner. HBK tried to take out Jericho on the apron, but JBL took a swing at him and nailed him. Jericho then tagged in and was all over Michaels. It was all offense for Jericho and he tagged in JBL. Cade distracted the ref while Jericho choked out Michaels in the heel corner. HBK was able to fight back against JBL, but JBLís big boot put him down and Layfield took a cheap-shot at Batista, allowing Jericho to cheap-shot HBK. Nice. HBK and JBL found themselves both down on the mat. HBK made the hot tag to Batista, and JBL tagged Jericho. You can fill in the blanks as to what happened next. Batista then slammed Jericho and HBK hit a top-rope elbowdrop. He set up for the superkick but missed. Walls of Jericho attempt, but that was turned into a roll-up for two. Code-Breaker was shrugged off and Batista and JBL went at it. JBL back-dropped Batista over the top rope. Batista was able to spear JBL on the outside of the ring. He missed the Lionsault and tagged Cade. A distraction allowed Cade to hit his powerbomb on Michaels and score the pin.

WINNERS: Cade, Jericho & JBL, at 9:02. Wow, that was a shocking ending.

The heels celebrated the win.

I could of sworn Orton had the same crappy tribal tatts just last week. He just had to get double sleeves and who knows what else over the weekend I guess. Punk and Taker talk him into it? He seems to have lost his individuality overnight, though I am still jealous of him cause of it. Usually when you get new ink it's very bright, unless his art is offset by his tan.

Shane during the backstage confrontation with Randy, stated he wasn't a 3rd generation but that he was a 4th generation? What am I missing in that statement? This doesn't allude to the MacMillions incident does it?

Cryme Tyme looked great out there with Morrison and Miz. Probably the only good match of theirs that I've seen so far. Did Cole refer to them as "Chainlink Brothers"? Am I wrong for thinking that WWE could really capatalize on having a formation between MVP, R-Truth, and Cryme Tyme?

I believe it goes Jess McMahon->Vince Sr.->Vince Jr.->Shane. So that makes him 4th gen.

Not sure where your confusion comes from. It means his father (Vince), grandfather (Vince Sr) and great-grandfather (Jess) were all in the wrestling business.

I did see the additional tattoos, but I was thinking that maybe Orton's arms got messed up from the accident as well. Anyone have a screencap that would show his arms?

And has it just been so long since I have heard Shane or does his voice sound weird? I can't quite place it, it just doesn't sound right.

One of my friends has mis-pronounced Big Dave's last name as "Baptista" constantly for years, so it was extra-amusing that Santino did it as well.

The "Perfect Haas" segment was hillarious too.

I really dug Punk-Rhodes, but also remembered that after Cody turned heel, Hardcore Holly fell off the face of the earth. Is he injured again? I don't think he was released... You don't even see him listed working dark matches or house shows.

Wrestlingherald.com wrote that he was sent home for backstage behavior a month or so ago, and Slam Wrestling reported about a week ago that the rumor was he was in rehab in Georgia for pain meds.

CM Punk got two slaps in? That's it? They couldn't give him a kick or two in the corner to make the suspension/'receipt' seem worth while?

Kind of strange to see the show end with back to back tag matches.

Where does Chris Jericho get those stylish suits? Those threads look tailored. His suit budget must be more than I make in a year. One of his suits is probably more than I make in a month. What a delirious joy it is to watch Chris Jericho give a brilliant heel promo. I loved when he smiled after saying his giving Shawn Michaels' wife Rebecca "a fat lip" was an accident. And to think a year ago he was still on his two year hiatus. Now, he's a man at the top of his game. I don't think he's ever been better than he is right now.

Randy Orton has the same rules as you would find in prison on Arrested Development: No touching! No touching!

That last minute of the CM Punk match was very impressive. Punk annihilated Cody Rhodes. Kicked the holy hell out of him, literally with the kicking part. This pissed off version of CM Punk is a bit of a revelation. I also liked the beatdown by DiBiase and Manu and the save (did Punk yell SOS?) by Punk's "buddy" Kofi Kingston. Continuity! It's not a dirty word in wrestling.

Yes! Shane McMahon directly referenced Kane tombstoning Linda McMahon and shocking his nuts with a car battery. The greatest Kane moments of all time. Continuity! I'm a happy camper tonight.

The Glamarella-Kelly Kelly (Kelly)-Baptista the Manimal backstage segment was icing on the cake. Stop the show right now and I'd call RAW 800 a winner. Santino wearing Trish Stratus' old face guard makes me very, very happy.

Honk-A-Meter is back! The Happy Days are over. To show up the Honky Donkey Man, the Elvis impersonator, Santino defeated Deuce, the 1950's greaser. And he did it cleanly with a sunset flip! Brilliant. How proud must the woman who orders him to purchase the contraceptives be of Santino?

Bourne learned the important lesson that being a high flying aerialist only works if you're facing a guy who can bump and sell for you. Make you look good. Kane? Not that guy. Anyone who thought Evan Bourne had a hope in hell of actually beating Kane has never seen a professional wrestling program promoted by Vincent Kennedy McMahon before. Kane even murdered Rey for good measure. Two little flying dudes < Kane. Because Kane is big.

I think King broke double digits on saying WOW! during the Beth vs. Kelly Kelly (Kelly) match. Baptista's beatdown on Santino was hi-larious. The backstage segments with Kelly hanging out with Batista the last couple of weeks actually lead to something. That brings me right back to the C-word. No, not that C-word -- continuity! WOW!

This Cryme Tyme vs. Miz and Morrison match seems to be more for the kids. I might be too old for this feud judging from my void of give a damn. This is a first though, a tag team feud based around a 7th grader-like flame war on their respective wwe.com web shows. What's next? JR's blog feuding with Out Think The Fink? The only guy in this match I think is worth a cup of coffee is Morrison, who's worth the whole Starbucks and maybe the Dunkin' Donuts next door.

Charlie Haas pausing after saying his name for the ovation that never came was funnier than his entire Mr. Perfect skit. I reiterate what I said last week, this dressing up as other people schtick is only funny if he's goofing on heels people can't stand.

So. Did his doctor clear Shawn Michaels? His retina now un-detached? Was his doctor so impressed with the thrashing he gave Jericho that he gave him a clean bill of health so he could win back the World Heavyweight Title? If so, that doctor should have his medical license revoked.

Lance Cade pinned Shawn Michaels cleanly with his finish! Finally, revenge for those high rates Michaels charged Cade for training at his wrestling school.

Did someone in Stamford realize this weekend that last night was going to be the 800th episode? I don't remember anyone else mentioning it last week, and Vince usually never passes up a chance to build up any milestone for his baby. The whole 800 thing seemed to come out of nowhere. When the show opened and the first signs I saw were "RAW *))", those were my exact thoughts.

Jericho's face when he reached up and took the belt off the hook were pricless: "Oh, my! What do I have here? It's a championship belt! How EVER did I get this!??!?!" Love it.

I honestly hope Santino beats the Honky Donky Man's record, cuz 60 more weeks of that would make JimBob a happy Skeeter.

Cryme Tyme and The Priceless Dream had a great match. Keep that shit coming!

Last year, would you have looked at Lance Cade and said: "That boy is going to pin Shawn Michaels in the main event on the 800th episode of Raw for his team with JBL and Jericho over HBK and Baptista!"

Nah, me neither.

Overall, dug the show!

Oh, and I still giggle every time Shane-O-Mac comes bouncing out. My gf's seven year old soon watched it with me for a bit last night (his first time~!) and said this about Shane-O Terrio's entrance:

"He dances funny!"

Did they make any mention of Batista and Shawn's feud from just a few short months ago? If they did, I didn't hear it.

I have been following wrestling for over 20 years, and I have never heard of Jess McMahon either.

That was quite the rub for Cade. However, he has done nothing to deserve it in the last few months besides stand behind Jericho and laugh at his jokes. Let's hope he earns it over the next few weeks. Who knows, but this is the same way HHH got started, carrying the bags of a top guy and sneaking in the back door of the main event.

Batista's feud with Santino is much more entertaining than the feud with JBL.

Everyone wore their working boots last night, and it made for a great show.

Kane PUNTED Rey in mid-air, and it was awesome. He's been a solid, reliable performer for years now, and he's shining in this feud. Rey gets lots of offense, Evan gets over, and Kane remains a significant threat. Everyone wins.

Punk and Kofi need some help to fight The Legacy, but Cryme Tyme is fighting Morrison and Miz. ECW is looking like a developmental gold mine these days.

Santino is wrestling like he just started. Gone is the Mussolini headbutt, and he's wearing a face guard! How can he not put the two together? Why no finisher? Where is the nifty repertoire from his first IC reign? He's the best RAW commodity who is now utter crap in the ring. Even Kelly Kelly Kelly is showing him up.

That's one possibility. Another possibility sees Rey and Bourne getting squashed, and Kane getting some quality double-chokeslam practicing time. I know which one I'm hoping for but I also know which once I'm expecting.

Santino doesn't have a finisher because Santino (storyline-wise) (maybe) isn't good enough to finish anyone. And as much as I love the idea of the facemask-assisted heatbutt, I don't think the poor guy is up for that - even kissing Beth's forehead hurts him.

Santino is gold as long as they keep him out of the ring. His material wasn't great tonight, but great delivery as usual. Loved Batista snapping his faceguard!

Open was a little overloaded, but advanced a lot of storylines. Can't wait for Punk, Kofi, Cryme Tyme(?) vs. Orton, Priceless, Manu at SS.

Shane. Please. Stop with the dance. Loved Adamles look after Shane told him the history with Kane.

I enjoyed the Kane/Bourne match. It was good at making Bourne look credible and Kane a monster. Did anyone expect Bourne to win at this point? I still want Rey/Bourne to go after the tag gold.

Nice to see some good tag matches for once. And a decent amount of in-ring action alltogether.

Was the reason Cade hasn't really done anything an injury? If so nice to see him back. He's a better bodyguard than Bam Neely at least!

    Now?

He was fine in his early run. He spiced up some meager moves with flourishes that made them distinct. He didn't have a cookie-cutter moveset. That's all I ask sometimes.

I understand that making him flat in the ring might keep him a heel; people won't expect to see him do anything to win them over. But he pinned Deuce cleanly last night. Didn't even bother to grab the ropes.

OK, so say he breaks the record...please explain how his comedy title reign (and the cheering he gets because of it) elevates business, the title or the person who eventually takes the belt from him?
