Nah. Jericho’s running feud with Christian was just last year, and was miles ahead of this one.
However, the storyline does fit Jericho’s current “whiney bitch” heel persona. Whether the persona is actually a good one for him is subject to another debate. It’s a far cry from his cocky Lionheart heel persona. If anything, it's on par with the chickenshit heel that Austin was during the Invasion.
Hopefully the tour and the time away will let him recharge his batteries, give the fans time to forget, and we hear the sweet sound of the Y2J countdown interrupt a lengthy HHH or JBL promo.
Kurt Angle was out, which already had the crowd excited- but as soon as they realized that the match they were getting was gonna be Benjamin vs Angle THEY WENT CRAZY. They kept that energy during the entire match.
Hell, I went crazy right along with them- it was just as good a match technically as you'd think and a little more entertaining too. I wanted Shelton to win, but even I can see that Kurt pulling a victory was the way to go. This match would have fit in much better at Summerslam than Angle-Eugene, but I only buy Wrestlemania- so luckily, they put it on RAW.
DIALOGUE OF THE NIGHT: Mike Chioda: "You cant put your feet on the ropes!" Chris Jericho: "Come on you Son of a Bitch!"
What's a pervert? Start with the guy who signs the checks.
Raw's ending had me saying "wow that was booked really well" and then almost dying of complete shock because I haven't said that in general, let alone for a main event, in ages. Its beyond me why you would bring a guy like Hardy in, SOLELY because you want to take advantage of a hot angle that his firing created, and then make him a total bitch. Seriously, how the fuck does that work? I understand "punishing" him, you know, like the same fucking punishment Edge and Lita should have gotten for screwing around which is against WWE policy but instead got a push for the WWE title, but its moronic! Why would you kill a feud that has money written all over it by making the "will not die" guy job out, over and over and OVER. Beyond me. Fuck you Johnny Ace.
Jericho begging for his job was definitely harsh, part of me says it fits his character, but part of me says it makes him look like a total little bitch. I'll miss him for sure, hopefully they will put him in a 3 way feud when he gets back....
Pretty decent raw overall except for the BS with Matt, the potential masters/hbk program and the show/Snitsky program that I skipped over -- TiVo FTW!

No...No...I honestly never want to see Trish as a face ever again. Trish was ten kinds of lame as a face, she had no edge, no sense of humour, and there was no reason to want her to win. She is probably the most entertaining heel, including men, since they got the F out. She absolutely must remain the hilarious cocky heel she was doing before she got injured.

That's the thing. That's part of why it was so sad. That booking could not have stated more succintly, more emphatically, that Jericho is never doing to be in main events, and never going to win the title again. They don't book anyone like that and then give them a title run. That's something that you book for Harvey Whippleman.
I mean, was Hardy losing Earth's worst elbowdrop bad? Yes, but that bothers me less because I don't really believe that Matt Hardy has what it takes to be a main eventer. I can't see myself getting excited about Hardy/HHH VIII, or Hardy V.S. Cena or Hardy V.S. Batista. I'm not against him being a main eventer, but I doubt I'll ever be excited about it.
Whereas...Proper use of Jericho would get my ass to some events.

With all the talk of Matt being buried and being portrayed as the loser when he should be portrayed as the opposite, I cant help feeling that they will pull a swerve. Im thinking that they might pull the darker reborn and more intense Matt Hardy out of the bag that he seemed so keen on talking about before his return, this could be introduced after say Edge goes way over the top and looks to of killed him in a staged Car crash incident, which Matt himself may have initally set up in mentioning in his returning promo when he hoped "Adam would die in a car crash" I just can't see them so easily throwing away such a long built up angle like this, but then this is WWE 2005 so I should'nt really be too suprised if they do.
I expected Nick Dinsmore to put on a better showing. Then again he was fighting Albert. I missed Hugh Morris-Shannon Moore, but heard it was good. What I want to know is when was Moore-Morris and Albert-Dinsmore taped?
