Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, because it is time to WAKE UP! It's also time for Raw, live from London, Ont....and a Fashion Report, too!

Lillian, in black v-neck and bellbottoms, with huge medallion, introduces Randy, in black suit, white shirt and red tie, carrying the World Title. Yellow balloons and confetti fall around the ring. Wow - Randy just stands there really well. Then he speaks, doing a heelish "I told you so" type promo. And then he gets guys to take their shirts off. Randy also shows a video package. Following more gab, Benoit, in purple "4 REAL" tights with black slashes, comes out. Benoit proclaims he's got a rematch...tonight! (If you paid for it, you're a sucker.)

Lillian announces an "All or Nothing' match. Rhyno, in black "Rhyno" singlet, with Tajiri, in black pants with gold dragon and flaming left hem, vs. Sylvan, with Rob, both in sequined blue fleur-de-lis vests, blue "La Resistance" undies, wearing the Tag Titles, and waving Quebec flags. Jack Doan is the referee, in stripes. Confetti continues to fall. On the outside, Rob destroys Tajiri, allowing him to interfere with impunity. Sylvan controls early, but Rhyno mounts a comeback. Tajiri recovers and mists Sylvan, which leads to a gore->pin. Average match.

Lawler, in black spaortscoat and white tshirt and JR, in black suit, blue shirt, tie, and black hat, are the Greek Chorus.

Let's see some stills of Kane vs. Matt, to Kane's old music.

Meanwhile, in the back, Coach catches-up to Lita, in black smock and khakis, to hear her thoughts, but she brushes him off. In the Womens' lockerroom, the heel women throw a surprise bridal shower. Molly (hot in short hairs) offers contraceptives. Gail offers pictures. Jazz gives a different kind of "big red machine". After Lita storms out, Victoria is on the scene to smack Trish, in black.

HBK video package.

DanceToria, stripping out of the black, now in pink crossed bikini-top and hotpants, vs. Gail, in black slitted shirt, hotpants, and trenchcoat. Hebner draws officiating duty for this match. The crowd somehow thinks these ladies had sex with some guy called "Brett" - I never knew. Victoria gets the pin. An average match. Post-match, Trish and Tyson, in black muscleshirt and black pants, do a beatdown. But Crossdresser makes the save.

Kane, in black pants with red barbedwire stripes, on the mic to dedicate the match to Lita, vs. Edge, in red "Edge" trenchcoat and red faceprint tights, wearing the IC Title. Chad "I'll allow it" Patton wears the stripes for this match. Edge totally works the left knee, even doing a ringpost spot. Mid-match, Lita comes out, bringing AdBreak along.

Cont. Kane is in control...convincingly. Who do you think Kane's best man will be? But Edge comes back...with a vengeance. Ref bump! Flying clothesline sets-up a chokeslam, but Lita stops Kane. Out comes Mattitude, in black skull shirt and bluejeans, to Twist of Fate. Spear->pin. Average match. Post-match, Kane verbally taunts Lita. (I don't know what's worse - this angle or the commentary accompanying it. JR must have a quota of how many times he must say "wedding from hell".)

Coach and Company cavort on a closed set. Fuck yeah - the contestants coalesce in opposition to Carmella. Except Carmella, who is a total bitch and votes to ditch Joy. Not Carmella is cast-off.

Meanwhile, Jericho...is...walking.

Jericho, in blue "Y2J" silhoutte tights, vs. Batista, in black "Batista" flaming-crotch undies with Flair, in black suit and white shirt. Mike Chioda is the referee. Flair interference->DQ. Poor match. Post-match beatdown, to which Edge comes down...but he doesn't make the save. Edge just watches Batista continue the destroying of Jericho.

FOOTAGE! of Diva Dodgeball.

Coach has the courtesans...some-"C"-word. Vote 'em all off.

Meanwhile, in the Evolution lockerroom, Randy has butterflies in his stomach. HHH, in black suit, blue shirt, and tie, arrives to impart wisdom upon young Randall. The implication is that Evolution will interfere in the upcoming match.

Benoit, in same as before, vs. Randy, in red "Orton" undies with gold scrawls, wearing the World Title. Jack Doan is the referee. Benoit makes Orton his bitch, owning the match. Randy is down on the outside, so AdBreak does what it does.

Cont. Randy is in the sharpshooter, but he makes it to the ropes. Orton makes a comeback after Benoit goes head-first into the guard rail. Orton's offence is very neck-based. Randy misses a flying crossbody, allowing Benoit to hit a diving headbutt and take charge, hitting three Germans before locking in a crossface. Evolution comes out, making Benoit break the hold. RKO->pin. A good match. Post-match, Evolution congratulates Rob in the ring...before turning on him and delivering a beatdown, busting-open Randy upon his own belt. Much trash-talking ensues during the beatdown, to the effect that Evolution made Orton and that he's nothing without them. (The beatdown would've been way more effective if the fans were into it.)

Overall: An okay show, until the Main Event and the beatdown. That bumped it into the above-average zone.

Edit: some typos

Ya know, the beat down would of been better if Randy hadn't made fun of everyone in the audience. Why should I care if he is getting beat up if he just made fun of me all night? Now he is a face just because Triple H is a heel. It just doesnt work as well as a face turn could.

And, the Carmella bashing was just really funny. I am guessing this was her punishment for no-showing the PPV. And when she gets to burn someone else, who does she pick? The one with kids. Ya, you cant have a job cause you're a mom! Good going Carmella. Real nice.

One last thing, whats the point of Edge coming out if he wasnt gonna do the save? Did he change his mind at the last moment? It just doesnt make any sense.

The main event and ensuing beatdown completely made this show for me. Benoit was tremendous in his role early in the match, and Orton took the beating (from Benoit) very well. The beatdown from Evolution, while predictable, was so well done. The thumbs down just made me mark out. Not to mention finally getting to an actual PEDIGREE TO ORTON!

And KaneRobot, I think the point that Edge non-run in had was that once Edge saw he couldn't make it into the ring unscathed, he decided it wasn't worth it for someone who didn't even try to save him the week before.

Oh man, the Kane/Lita "If They Mated" picture was the first thing they've done right in the entire angle.

The Diva search segment was beautiful as all the girls harbor resentment towards Carmella's apathy and then Carmella gets all shooty and shit on Joy, who is the only one who even gets how to be a Diva. The Diva Search RULES in a "it's so totally fucking horrible" way.

Poor, poor, Randy. God, I pray creative doesn't fuck him up like they have the potential to do.

Ha! Today's Divasearch was the most intruiging one yet. Hopefully, this will help get rid of that no-talent Carmella.

Also, when Orton celebrated with Evolution, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop... and there it is! Consider Orton's face turn solidified.

Best post PPV RAW in a long time.

I think the WWE is short changing the Evolution breakup for the immediate pop, but boy it worked for one night at least. But how will they drag this out until WM.

The rest of the show was OK. I think I will enjoy the Edge/Y2J program, and Rhyno and Tajiri vs La Res, wins the first match scheduled for Unforgiven prize.

Also, Kane's wedding? I have nothing to wear, and no one to go with on such short notice. I just hope there's an open bar and a couple of cute bridesmaids.

RAW Thoughts:

Good opening promo from Orton, that ended up going a little long....The Sylvain-Rhyno match wasn't that good, but Tajiri trying to hide the mist on his face, and Rhyno covering Sylvain's face so the ref couldn't see it on the pin were nice touches....

Not often I say this, but I really dug the Divas backstage segment. The girls played their parts well....I also liked the women's match. Funny of the crowd to chant "Stevie" when the "woman" came to save Victoria....Didn't see much of the IC title match, but what I say was okay....

That diva contest stuff backstage HAD to be scripted...right?....Batista v.s Jericho was too short....Real good main event, on par with last night's match....Surprised they didn't milk the Evolution turn. Effective beatdown though....Good, not great RAW.

My god but I hate announcers acting like idiots. JR's "who was that masked man" bit during Stevie's run-in just made me want to puke....especially when the guy in the audience yelled "STEVEN RICHARDS" as clearly as could be, to no effect from Jim

My 2 pennies here ...

Who all wanted to just stand up and yell "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" to Jerry Lawler after he kept going & going & going & going & going with the stupid Kane/Lita jokes? ... He made me flip the channel to watch the 3rd string squads of Green Bay & Seattle.

I too marked out over Triple H's thumbs down ... you could see the turn coming from a mile away, but it was still well executed.

Glad to see the Diva Search airtime scaled back.

What do they do know with Eugene?

I liked the Edge thing ... I think he & Jericho will have another 1 on 1 match at Unforgiven.

Cool Orton promo at the beginning ... I dug that song that was played ...

Not a bad Summerslam follow-up ... plants the seeds for some possibly interesting fall feuds.

Its not a real wedding unless Triple H drugs Lita and rapes her while she is asleep. Thats what get my seal of approval.

But, I hope they go full on with the wedding. I guess Kane's dad aint gonna make it (ya know, since he is dead in concrete and all). You think Kane is gonna give UT an invite? I wanna see Kane in a tux and Lita in a blood red wedding dress. Maybe they could have Kane's bachlor party at some S & M club during the weekend. That would be cool.

I was most definitely not feeling this Raw up until the final 2 matches. I dug Jericho/Batista, and Flair was great on the outside. Benoit/Orton was fantastic, due to Benoit just *WAILING* away on Orton throughtout the whole match. I was SO pulling for Orton to tap, and was really pissed when Evo came out, allowing the cheap RKO. But the "thumbs down -> beat down" saved it, as I can't stand Orton. Somehow, I found myself cheering for HHH, as Evo are now officially faces in my book. The only thing missing was Batista hitting Orton with the CLOTHESLINE OF DEATH~.

The fact that the ending for the Main Event could be seen in advance may have contributed to the weak crowd response to the Lugerization of Orton, despite Orton's quality crimson mask. Come on - I'm sure other W's suspected that there would be an Evolution schmozz, leaing to the "finisher out of nowhere" ending.

I was wondering why Evolution's post match celebration was so cheesey. I liked the beatdown, Sting is no longer a Horseman.

As good as this was it causes a lot of questions ...

Where does Benoit go now after such a great run on top? I could watch him and Batista go at it for half an hour every so often. Although it would be quite a drop for Benoit but quite a boost for Batista. Other than that everyone is pretty locked up at the moment.

Then again where does this leave Dinsmore and his character? I don't see Helmsley needing him much anymore. Anything from here on out is a drop for him as well. He would be a lot better off on Smackdown actually.

Does Edge get Randy's spot down the road?

So while the beatdown was cool, they still have some questions to answer.

Excaliber must be thrilled, as we see the first-ever(?) PEDIGREE TO ORTON. Don't know how I feel about Orton as champ; it's going OK so far, but as he himself said, "This is disturbing." I saw the HHH swerve, but I figured he'd help Benoit regain the title--so he could go after the guy himself, of course, once Orton's insurrection was quelled. Maybe he just knows it'll be a lot easier to beat Randy than the Canadian Crippler. Anyways, we'll see what happens when he has to carry a match with someone who isn't Chris Motherfucking Benoit.

Speaking of HHH, he gave my girlfriend and I an unintentional laugh as he referred to Batista as "Dave" Batista. I half-expected him to show up and give us a ":(".

Diva crap is boring, though the redhead and Joy are hot. They're so building up Carmilla to win, and it's pretty f'ing lame. Though at least they admit she's a lazy little bitch.

Benoit put on a hell of a match as always; this guy is really one of the best workers of all time. This is not negated by the slightly disturbing fact, which I learned upon renting the much-hyped Benoit DVD, that he used to have one hell of a mullet. Which I do believe I will go watch now; he's got a hell of a match against Al Snow going, and I'm lovin' the retro Joey Styles commentary. E-C-Dub, E-C-Dub ...

BTW, Mayhem, you weren't alone at all ... I was barely paying attention, but even I was annoyed. From what I remember of JR's commentary, he was getting pretty pissed off, himself ... King even made a few comments like he was asking why JR was giving him such dirty looks. Fuckin' Lawler.

Dare I say tonight's RAW was BETTER than last night's Summerslam PPV? Well I do dare, because its the truth. And when WWE is putting on free shows that are a lot better then their 35 dollar ppv's...that is unnacceptable. Now I know why PPV performances are getting disappointing, because the wrestlers only seem to really put on their working boots and perform best on the weekly television shows .

I enjoyed the tag match with Rhyno and Grenier, and I'm glad Rhyno and Tajiri are finally getting a tag team title shot. The buildup for this match has been pretty good and long, so the match at the PPV needs to deliver. At the very least I'd like to see Tajiri and Rhyno hold some gold for once. They should've had it last night though, had La Resistance win, and set up a rematch for Unforgiven. But WWE sucks at booking PPV's nowadays, so fuck them.

Good IC title match between Kane and Edge, and a lot better than their piece of crap at Backlash '04. So I ask, why are the same wrestlers having better matches on free TV instead of PPV's we have to pay for? Good match and alot better than the lame-ass triple threat match for the IC title from Summerslam last night.

Jericho/Batista was ok for what we saw. They really seem to be teasing the heel turn by Edge, looks like this is leading to a more drawn out feud for the IC title with Edge and Jericho. I'm down with that, that is unless their PPV match isn't as good as the match they had on FREE TV one week ago.

I hate this DIVA search bullshit, but it was fucking hilarious seeing the verbal gang-banging of Carmella. I really hope she gets eliminated next .

Fantastic fucking match with Benoit and Orton. And wow, the crowd was definitely pulling for Benoit tonight. I mean this match was awesome with the way Benoit was just relentlessly destroying and taking Orton apart for the first portion of the match. Benoit looked a lot better losing tonight than last night, but he clearly had the match one over Orton in the Crippler Crossface before Evolution interfered allowing Orton to get the RKO and the win. I think this match was actually longer than their PPV match, and you know what? IT WAS BETTER TOO! Once again, a better match on FREE FUCKING TV than PPV! Anyway, the Evolution turn and dejection of Orton was great and I'm interested to see where this goes. The logical thing to do would be to turn Edge heel and have him take Orton's place. I mean he is the current IC champ, his character needs a heel turn, Evolution needs a new member, and I mean, Edge is the guy that ended Randy Orton's lengthy reign as IC champ.

I've figured out the solution guys. From now on, DO NOT ORDER WWE PPV'S! You know why? Because free weekly tv shows are BETTER! They give you more for your money's worth the ppv's themselves. Plus no Eugene tonight, makes me happy .

Also, I really hope Benoit is ok with all the bumps he's taking on his surgically repaired neck. I mean geezus h! He was really favoring his neck a lot so I get worried, hope the guy isn't really hurt bad or anything. Benoit should definitely take it easy on the bumps he takes on his neck.

That was the perfect RAW to relaunch excitment in the product. Orton came off great, and it will be interesting to see who comes out first to back him up against Evolution.

Although I think the group of Evolution could do better with keeping Orton, and showing their loyalty to the world title, more so than it's members; this was the right choice.

HHH is not a good face, unless they are attacking another promotion or chopping his crotch.

I actually thought the crowd pop was pretty good, considering he had completely insulted the crowd two hours earlier. That promo was one of his best BTW it made me wish he was staying heel. They made a mistake hotshotting the Orton face turn. At least they could have gone the old fashioned option of giving him the option of laying down for Trip before they batter him. Or at least have teased tension after he won the World Title shot.
Benoit might have the perfect spot as an ex-World Champ. He doesn't have the pressure of carrying the World Belt, and he doesn't have the stigma of not being a World Champ. Now, Benoit can just go and let loose every night.
Rhyno should have lost, leading to Rhyno/Tajiri resorting to wearing masks in order to get a tag title match.
How quickly it goes from RAW is Eugene to Eugene Who.
