Maybe it's just me, but I seem to remember that when the lawyer was revealing clues to who was the illegitimate son, Vince was most disappointed that it wasn't JBL or something to that exent. It would be a stretch of continuity, but maybe they're playing to the fact that JBL & Vince wanted to be related the whole time and actually are. But would take really good writing by the Raw writers and that seems to be lacking at times with this angle.

The problem to me is that we're supposed to buy Finaly as a face for conning his unknowing son into a get-rich scheme. I like Finaly as a face and I think his match with JBL can be really good if they just drop the wrestling part and have a good, old-fashioned stiff brawl. But for a guy who gimmick is someone that loves to fight and have a brew afterwards, it just comes off as out of character for him.

As for the rest of Raw, I think the Mayweather- Big Show debacle is distracting us from seeing what a good show it was. It pushed certain feuds over really well and got a lot of focus on most of the Wrestlemania matches, not just the triple threat main event. My thoughts:

- I like the raw commissionmer for a day idea for each of the three main eventers. It gives them a chance to mess with the others head without resorting to the usual sneak attack b.s.

- Yeah, Big Show- Mayweather was bad. And Mayweather apparently can't act as a face without coming off as such a prick. This is falling apart fast.

-Funny wrestlemania commerical between Carlito & Maria that I'm surprised no one is talking about. Forget playboy, Santino, your tag partner is going after your woman! That and the fact that seagulls don't find Carlito cool.

-Flair/ Michaels vs. Cade/ Murdoch was a good, if short, contest. And I like the bulid to the career- threating match where Michaels has a lot of respect for Flair but is showing a slight heelish edge by feeling that he is 100% confident he can beat Flair.

-Umanga/ Super Crazy- man, who did Super Crazy piss off to get beat on like this?

- The highlight reel was a good segment. Like Flair/ Michaels, Jericho and Hardy made a good bulid for thier match with the "faces who respect each other but are throwing it out of the window when they meet at wrestlemania" bit.

-Kennedy/ Cena was a fun, surprising back and forth match. I tohught they would make it more of a squash for Cena, but I guess they're committed to making Kennedy a main eventer, even if he's jobbing a lot.

-The playboy unveiling was obiviously the highlight of the night. Santino was awesome as always. I'm wondering though what is going to happen with his character once Maria inevitably breaks up with him at wrestlemania.

-Carlito/ Cody Rhodes was decent enough to watch. It's weird, but I find Cody Rhodes to be the total oppisite of his dad: a sound wrestler with the personality of wood. Dusty wasn't the most technical of wrestlers, but he always found a way to keep it fun and unboring unlike Cody. Maybe he'll open up in the future; right now, I just don't think he's the next great raw superstar.

- Orton/ HHH was the usual match between the two. A good match, but one we probably have seen before.

Overall, I thought it was pretty good episode. I would call outsanding but for that horrid chunk of time devoted to Mayweather. I don't care if it's $20 million or if it's just $1 million, Mcmahon overpaid for this dud of a match.

Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

OK, here's my attempt to explain the Hornswoggle situation.

It isn't about Hornswoggle, Finlay or anyone else getting rich off Vince's billions through inheritance or whatnot. It's about the rest of Vince's real family - Shane & Stephanie at least, and presumably Linda as well - getting revenge on Vince for the years of embarrassing stains Vince has put on the family name. There is no real illegitimate son - the family needed a figure that would form the basis of the humiliation against Vince, and Finlay agreed to let them use Hornswoggle as that figure because it would increase Hornswoggle's profile and stature in the E and give other little people like him hope that they'd have a shot in the business.

The question is, why would Finlay agree to this, knowing full well it would likely put his son in danger? That's why the "deal" between Vince & Finlay that was spoken of for several weeks and then forgotten about is so key for this - because it'll help to explain Finlay's motivations. There's something that Vince got from Finlay in this whole situation - something for which the return favor was a promise not to let harm come to Hornswoggle (a promise that Vince has obviously violated). We need to know what that something is.

Maybe that's why they're going with the rivet-gun match of Finlay/JBL - since it'll give them time to figure out all the layers in the story. Bottom line, though, this whole Hornswoggle thing won't be over after Wrestlemania.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.
