Is that a Blue Thunder Bomb he hits in that match? Or a Rydien Bomb? Or are they the same thing?

Thanks in advance...

Man, I'm loving Kane more and more each week. I am an Austin mark of the highest caliber, but I squealed when Kane did the zombie sit up at the end and chokeslammed him.

I liked the running theme of Kane being psycho and unstable. I wonder if Austin will congratulate him next week for acting like the old Kane?

I really liked the show tonight. It was tight and well done. I don't know where they are going with a Rosie face turn, but I'll give it a chance. Test is rapidly becoming one of my guilty pleasures in his scumball role. Was anyone else shocked as hell that he got the win over Nash? I know I was.

Another good Raw!

Molly won a match! Whoohoo! More Molly on the screen is always good. I am salivating and patiently waiting for next week's Molly/Gail Kim match!

Molly=Ratings. Pay attention Vince!

Are you ready for Mahkan-mania to run wild all over you?

I mark for Molly Holly and Lance Storm.

I wish they would have saved Molly and Gail Kim for a PPV since that could have rocked the house. (Well, the crowd would have been silent, but a lot of US would have been happy.) But I won't complain, since this match could easily be one of the highlights of next week's Raw.

Besides, it's looking like they're slowing building to Gail Kim and Victoria for Summerslam. I'm definitely down with that. That could be lots of fun to watch.

No La Resistance, No HHH, No Bischoff? No problem!

Nash-Test should've happened back when Test still looked the part. He jobs folks! Why exactly do you all despise him again? Lack of work-rate? Fine, that's why he gets little to no air-time every week while Big Slug over on SD! gets 15 minute matches every show.

I get the feeling they're prepping for a Gail Kim-Lita match. Probably will get the title to Lita by Summerslam.

HBK's facial expressions are too cute. Screw those bratty grudge-holding canucks .

Did Evolute's titantron change? It sucks. Took away the only other good thing about them beside the music.

Blue Thunder. Kidman and D'lo's 'sky hi' are Rydeen Bombs. Val's apparently inherited the 1/2 nelson suplex from Regal or something. Gail still hasn't shown much.

Talk about a blah show.

I think this sets up Kane vs. RVD for Summerslam, which should be decent, at least. As others have commented, however, KANE ISN'T SCARRED! Hell, Kane looks like my cousin Paul, and he's married with a kid. The fact that WWE is just blatantly ignoring this is just another insult to the fans.

At least the writers remembered some of their continuity from 1998 (BWA HA HA HA HA) and remembered that Venis has a thing for Asian chicks. Hope he doesn't have his genitals threatened this time.

It was almost as if WWE made a feeble attempt to cater to us "internet nerds".

-HBK has to play a heel (kinda) and talk about Bret.
-Nash jobs.
-The supposed "new member of Evolution" jobs unspectacularly.
-HHH pulls Heat duty.
-AND MOLLY WINS!

But then they had to bore the shit out of us for the last 30 minutes. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Off to read the Satire...at some point.

I was on the edge of my seat during the whole exchange between HBK, Jericho and the Montreal crowd......and then they suddenly make Jericho turn heel on the crowd. It totally sucked the air and emotion right out of the arena and the show seemed to just go down hill from that point on.

Also, it seems that the writers might be trying to squeeze Kane into Undertakers old character.

Hey, we whine about Big Slug too. In fact, there are quite a few people whining that he's getting yet another PPV main event slot.

I don't have a problem with Nash jobbing. Good for him. But the problem is, will anybody remember it later on? The trouble is that, while the intentions are good, having Nash job cleanly at a random slot on a Monday night doesn't do anybody any good. Had this had more buildup than just a random backstage segment, this would have meant so much more and could have made a new star. As it is, it's just a forgettable job that won't help anybody in the end.

Example: Does ANYBODY remember the night Rico went over Ric Flair cleanly?

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I'm surprised nobody (except for ScreamingHeadGuy) has managed to bring up the fact that Test and Trish used to have history. I can understand us, but the writers are supposedly paid for continuity, aren't they? (At this point, why am I even asking such a question?)

The closing moments had me thinking back to KOTR98 and the first blood match, with Austin getting a bit of revenge for having to take on a guy wearing a mask and a full bodysuit in a FIRST BLOOD match. And a chokeslam isn't enough. Why would that "break" Austin (or whatever Ross was babbling about)? I realize the guy is somewhat physically fragile but a well-performed tombstone to the conrete can do wonders for an angle like this.

Well, if Austin would never take a tombstone from Undertaker in the ring during any of their 1000 matches, he sure ain't gonna take one from Kane on the floor in 2003 when his neck is all the more f'ed up.

Hmmm...no Steiner. No Triple H. No Goldberg. Kevin Nash jobs. Booker T wins. Molly shows cleavage. NO PROBLEMS!

Oustide of the semi boring matches I would have to think that this would be the BEST...RAW....IN A LONG TIME!

Oh yeah, and NO TRIPLE H!

By the way...what was the explanation as to why DVon wasn't there? I missed that.

- Test and Trish had history..yeah..she was his manager..prolly never wanted anything else, and still doesn't. Nothing to point at and question.

- Kane sells a lot for Austin only to get up after a chairshot + stunner and chokeslam him..That isn't looking weak next to the non-wrestler.
That is looking extremely strong and evil next to the biggest name in wrestling at the moment.

- They throw a lot of folks on tv that we haven't seen on Raw in a while (and the other way around no HHH, Goldberg, Steiner, La Resistance) which is interesting. Sorta keeps their faces a bit fresh. I like this.

-HHH on heat might not mean that they think he is the answer to ratings. It means that they are smart and change up things and put bigger names on Heat every now and then.
(like when people cried and went crazy because Jericho and RVD were on there a while ago)

Christian-Booker T was Match of the Night. Another very good match by those two.

Stevie Richards had a kick-ass hat on last night.

Trish loses, thus the losing streak angle. It would've been nice if the announcers mentioned something like that but they didn't of course.

The Highlight Reel started out to be a classic segment. Then after Jericho's rant on Canada, the segment died. Jericho-Michaels in 2 weeks, it's like 1996 when they used to announce matches like that ahead of time on RAW.

Sign of the Night: "RAW Spoiler: Triple H Wins." It didn't make much sense till they announced Triple H vs. Maven for Heat.

I liked the stuff with Austin and Kane.

Overall, Raw was actually decent.

I don't know where they are going with a Rosie face turn, but I'll give it a chance

Care to explain this? Rosey gets *zero* reaction heel or face, and hasn't shown us any indication he's a good worker, so this can't end up anywhere close to good.

As for the show, a good opening match, but the rest were sloppy/boring/bad.

--I was *so* loving the Jericho/Michaels segment up until Jericho went heel.

--Helms jobs to *Rosey*? With a *Samoan Drop*??? Jeez, get Helms to SD already, where you can do something with him. He's done absolutely nothing since coming to Raw. A Rosey/Rodney Mack feud? Man, Vince is going to be rolling in $$$.

--Victoria & Trish were looking smokin' hot tonight.

--BAH GAWD, KANE'S A MONSTER. Still don't care.

Overall, a pretty "blah" show, w/ but a few bright spots.

Actually, upon closer inspection (via videotape), they didn't take away much at all, they added some stuff. We still get to see Randy~! I will say that Raw was a much interesting show. I always enjoy the Canadian crowds because they're smart, and honest, like yours truly. I'll save the Highlight Reel comments for a seperate thread of mine. At first, I was really unsure of what to think of Kane, but to be honest, I'm starting to enjoy it a lot. Having seen the really old Kane, I have to admit that the bloody rampage was what I've been waiting for. Um, not much else stood out, except for Booker T's win. Good stuff. But I tip my hat to Christian because he proved to more people that he's as charismatic and entertaining (probably more so) than bro Edge.

Randy Orton is a work of art, and Evolution's working out really well for him. Trish and Molly's match was good, nowhere near their Heat epic a few weeks ago though. Test and Nash? Uh... Didn't pay much attention to that actually, I was looking for a CD. I'd comment on Test and Trish, but the truth is, I'm a tough person to offend these days, so moving on... HHH wrestling on Heat? When was the last time that happened? 2000, eh? Overall, I was riveted by most of the show, and that's a good thing. Now, chant with me... HO-LLY-WOOD! HO-LLY-WOOD! HO-LLY-WOOD!

Kane is doomed. Last week was just the start of their "See? We tried to get Kane over without the mask!" push, which they know is going to fail. Kane will be an active part of the WWE roster for a long time to come, I'm sure, but he just won't get much more over than Albert in the longrun.

RAW was pretty boring last night, because there wasn't a real main event for the show. We saw Kane without his mask last week, so that wasn't enough to keep us going.

I'm probably one of the few that did like Austin fighting back against Kane. It's been a while since we've seen a real Steve Austin ass-whuppin' and that was a neat little thing to throw in, even if Kane got up at the end. I don't think it hurts Kane's character at all, because it's already hurt as much as it possibly can be.

Jindrak's debut/return was pretty uninspiring, which is both good and bad. It's good, because Jindrak looks like Batista, O'Haire, and all of those other musclehead guys they just throw out there and expect to get over, yet Jindrak jobbed like the plain wrestler that he is. It's bad, because WWE keeps churning these people out (yes, I know he's originally from the WCW Power Plant, which started the look). They need to give these guys facepaint or something.

I guess there was the HBK/Jericho segment, too, which wasn't bad.

I'm actually liking the angle with Kane. I think it would've been better pulled off had they used some bigger names for the beatdown (Dreamer and Rico? Who Really Cares?). I like the idea of Kane being so sensitive to his face that he just wrecks guys if they so much as look at him the wrong way. I agree that he gave Austin way too much in the main event interview - if you're going to build a monster, BUILD A MONSTER. Selling need not apply.

Highlight Reel - I think WWE would benefit more if they just dropped Montreal completely. I wish they would just take an attitude of "It happened, we know it did, so what?" and just let the fans scream their heads off about it everytime they come around and ignore it. You could tell a Jericho heel turn of some kind was coming because JR kept repeating over and over "Look at how he's sucking up to this crowd!" despite the crowd openly cheering him on their own. I became overly annoyed by the jackass with the "I'm Still Not Over 1997" sign. Do you have to flash it on screen at every chance? Hey! It's a reference to Bret Hart getting screwed and how the canadian wrestling fans won't let it go!!! That's SO witty!! Now sit down and stop flashing it during Val/Kim vs. Richards/Victoria where it has no meaning whatsoever.

No Steiner, No Goldberg, No La Resistance, No Triple H, No Lance Storm - I honestly didn't even notice that Goldberg, Resistance, and Triple H (until the Heat promo) were missing. Storm and Steiner I did miss.

Hey guys, if you want to run that stupid xenophobic La Resistance angle, have a little sack and use it in Quebec. Why don't you have Jim Ross start screaming about how all Frenchmen are cowards with poor hygeine who we should've let get killed by the Nazis in World War II there? Not only are they bigots, they're fucking cowards.
