That's a nice card...and I'm done with my awful fantasy booking before CRZ boots me.

Umaga in a ladder match? that's a frightening thought... some seriously dangerous spots could come of that. Unless MITB wasn't a ladder match this year... but then how else are you going to do it?

Also, I doubt they'd put two ladder matches on the same card, although I suppose if you open up with MITB and put hardy/hbk between the two title matches, you might be able to pull it off.

The confusing thing is that...the countdown was set to end during Cyber Sunday...and nothing happened. If it it was UPON_US at this point, you would expect something to happen on Monday. Why do the countdown site if it didn't synch up with anything?

Last night was one of the first times in a few months I caught RAW, mainly from the hype about the arrival of Jericho. Alas. I do like Marella, though.

I don't know if this is new, but part of the promo last night had the words "second coming" flash in it.

Whether it's the return of Jericho or whatever, WWE has to be careful not to stretch this "viral campaign" thing for too long ... Kinda like that JJ Abrams monster movie. Everyone seemed to be hellbent on figuring out what these little teaser trailers and websites were building towards, but now (as far as I can tell) everyone's already lost interest.

It's a short attention span, world ... eventually, people will stop giving a crap.

The show's ending was weak. The set up of a tag match next week would be a slow burn to a Survivor Series ten-man match except Vince said earlier Shawn would get his title rematch against Orton at the PPV. The match seemed to devolve into a no-DQ match before Shawn ran in, so I wonder if this was scripted on the fly. If so, what was supposed to happen originally? [Insert possible Jericho scenario here.]

And let's say they do bring in Jericho. A push of this seeming magnitude would have to involve a top-card push, right? What do you do with Michaels and Hunter? The latter seems to be playing a solid high midcard role with his interviews and reduced screen time. I welcome it, and it makes me like him more. Michaels, after Orton (if the latter retains ), moves to ... who? Kennedy? Given the communal grousing of Jericho's treatment in the WWE, do we know assume he now leapfrogs DX for the top face spot? Do they bring him in just to add some shine to the IC belt and fend off Carlito?

Beth impressed me in her interview, but I expected a demotion of sorts after dragging Candice for the pin last week.

Marella, while funny, is falling into routine, and the novelty is fading. I thought he was a snappy wrestler, but they're treating him like ECW's Matt Striker, giving him infrequent matches, and two of those were casual bouts against Simmons.

I like the Highlanders' new quiet, angry attitude.

It seems they were hinting that HBK would turn on HHH next week and side with Vince. Maybe the 2nd coming is the 2nd coming of the real HBK?

Disappointing Raw, I half tuned out after just another viral piece ran in the middle of the show, and was surprised at the double whammy of no Stone Cold/Santino confrontation either. Poor Philly. Victo-zuna was star of the night from here.

Exactly. If this was directed at the IWC, I think they may have 'jumped the shark' last night. People thought the first "Save_us" video + No Mercy being in Chicago meant Jericho was returning where he started in WWE. Then "X29" seemed to lead to Jericho returning 10/29, the night after Cyber Sunday (the 'computer'-themed PPV). Now we get "Launch_19" and it's presumed to be Raw, November 19th after Survivor Series. As I read somewhere else last night, it's starting to feel like WWE is using some random promo generator for the new Save_Us videos.

After all, it's not like WWE is known for their long-term plotting where all the pieces fall into place in the end. Not that it's totally WWE's fault for the rampant speculation, but they obviously hear the chants too.

Two things people may want to consider:

1) Before it was universally decided that this was JERICHO, there was some rumor that the "Save_Us" campaign may have linked to HBK (which proved false), but there was also some talk that this could have been for the "Next Generation Hart Foundation" faction that was ready to debut. Until Teddy Hart went and got his ass fired again. The timeline fits, and so it's at least possible this became an angle without a known conclusion.

2) If you saw it, remember Jericho's appearance on Larry King. If he were returning, wouldn't he need to 'train' quite a bit to get back to where he was even marginally believable as a contender next to Cena, HHH, Batista, Umaga, Lashley, etc? (Face it, if you bring Chris back to the same sort of mid-card stuff he was doing before he left, his fans will not be happy - and others will wonder what's the big deal they've been making about this guy?)

Certainly a smart move by Jericho to synch his book tour schedule with the WWE, and as has been said, he's not above ribbing the smarts. But I could see this running all the way to the Royal Rumble. And if he's *not signed by now, it's time for Jericho to call Scott Boras.

Here's my question: If WWE is indeed just yanking everyone's chain now, to get some better ratings and more PPV buys, shouldn't they at least be trying to put on some decent shows so those extra customers come back for more??

He said as much this weekend on the VH1 Top 20 Videos show. They were pushing his book, and he said "if I were to go back" along needing gym work to get back to wrestling shape.

If this campaign is for Jericho, they certainly seem to be targeting only the loyal wrestling audience. Here's Jericho appearing on a network where he's established a small profile with the "I Love the" shows and brief commentary on the Heavy Metal miniseries. And he doesn't say something that could pull over the curious TV audience to his (presumed) upcoming on-air appearances.

It might keep the mystery airtight, but it doesn't help the ratings.

He is going to make them face each other in the ring. Mark my words.

What's this Santino's gimmick?

From reading here it sounds like "Borat- The Wrestler". Which, might be OK in small doses.

Santino's gimmick is simply being awesome.

Okay, that's being both accurate but not really descriptive. He's the perfect combination of smug yet essentially clueless. I can see the Borat especially if you just read the things people comment on, but its a far more assured character. He thinks he rules the world, and his mistakes are out of disdain for anyone not Santino, rather than out of cultural ignorance. He doesn't know Austin's catchphrases because Austin sucks and isn't worth knowing about in Santino's mind.

Santino is so overrated, it's kind of embarrassing. Yeah, he has some good lines and plays the part well, but I think it says more about how bad the whole show is when a when a basic mid level comedy act gets so much praise.

I really can't disagree with any of this. Santino is pretty funny, but that's all that he is. For being so funny, he's not really a fountain of charisma, and as a wrestler he's the drizzling shits. And yet, he's usually the best thing on Raw.

WWE comedy has never been stupider or more annoying or less funny. Yet Santino is hilarious. It is a credit that anyone could still manage to be really funny with so many hacks, bad ideas, and Vince's literally shitty sense of humor. As far as funniness goes, I'd put Santino up there with anyone besides 2000 Edge & Christian and the 2001 Austin/Angle/Vince/Debra ensemble. And that includes Bookdust, King Booker, Rock and Hurricane, and Nunzio trick or treating.

Why did people think they would give away a possible Jericho return on the Monday before sweeps month when they could just wait until the time period where it would really count? That would also explain Austin being there on the first Monday of November rather than the last Monday of October.
Off topic, but are Vince's writers part of the Screenwriter's Guild, since they always advertise the need for experienced writers when they post job offerings? If so, would that mean they could potentially go on strike with the rest of the writers and force Vince into putting the show into the hands of people who understand wrestling, or just let his daughter write all by her lonesome? Go on strike writers, I want to see Regis host Password, and it better have the snazzy music of Password Plus, not the star around Convy that Super Password had.

I read somewhere (maybe in this week's Observer) that WWE would not be effected by the strike (if it happens).

Vince? UNION?!? HA HA HA!!!

Actually, it's a really good question. Obviously most of the wrestlers aren't SAG (save the few that have been in films most likely, but obviously WWE events aren't union events) but maybe the writers are a different case. I'd doubt it, though. Just like the wrestlers are independent contractors, "bookers" probably wouldn't fall under the same heading as screenwriter if for no other reason than to keep pay and benefits lower. Still, an interesting thought.

I'm already getting tired of the entire SaveUs or Launch or whatever thing.

I'm surprized there's no love for the Divas Halloween Battle Royal here; I thought it was funny and a great way to start the show.

If the DIVA SEARCH segment lasted, say....five minutes, it was six minutes too long. They could have given us so much more. At least it was an opportunity to get more salsa for my nachos or something.
