I noticed that too and thought it was strange, but since nothing was said about it, I didn't give it much thought after that.

A solid "go home" show with great hype for the Raw main event at Cyber Sunday. It wasn't as clear this week that WWE wanted us to vote for Michaels, and I was especially surprised to see Jeff Hardy get the final hot tag and the pin in the tag match.

Speaking of hype, another bright spot was the hype for the women's title match. Two out of Three falls was an interesting stipulation that we don't see in many women's matches, so it was worth advertising in advance.

The show started out on a high note, with Kennedy's politically themed promo. And even Jeff Hardy surprised me with his mic skills. The opening six-person tag was non-stop action, and a really good match to boot. Those two teams work so well together, I wonder why they even bothered to get the Highlanders involved at all.

Shelton vs. Cody was too short to amount to much, but it was really just a place-holder for the post-match happenings. That's another tag match I wouldn't mind seeing....Did they really need to go from "Harry" to "D.H" (which I'm assuming is "David Harry")? Anyway, his debut was fine, about on par with his WWE.com "exclusive" match with Carlito from London....Good pull-apart brawl with Umaga and Triple H. It's refreshing not to see Triple H dominate heading into a PPV....I liked the Hardy & HBK and Orton & Kennedy backstage segments. It added some drama to the main event....The low point (besides the diva search) was the Simmons vs. Santino match. Didn't we already see that like a month ago, with the same ending?....The main event tag was solid, and the crowd was really hot for it. The high point, for me, was HBK's face after the neckbreaker spot with Kennedy was blown.

Re: Mickie

My over-analytical referee's eye noticed that she was actually in the way of the finish spot, so Murdoch just shoved her out of the way in order to preserve it. Her reaction afterwards was probably 'Holy crap, I almost messed up the finish'. The guys probably chewed her out a little backstage afterwards, hugs were given and no further harm done.

Wow. So when she exaggeratedly mouthed "thankyou" to Murdoch pantomime style, making sure it was on camera so we all saw it...you REALLY didn't smell an angle AT ALL?

Looking at the audience it looked like the upper deck was tarped off, not sold. So it seems like the WWE is back to calling it a sellout arena with the upper decks going unsold again.

Tough break for Candice, and why is everyone always jumping down on Mickie James. Trish Stratus would miss spots, cues, so would Lita and nobody would get on them.

I hope Triple H/Umaga is a first blood match.

My thoughts

Yeah, that was definitely an angle. The announcers mentioned that she was shoved out of the way, so maybe they were soft-selling the weird behavior and the mouthed "thank you."

As for the comments earlier that Santino/Maria aren't at all like Savage/Elizabeth, I still disagree. You really haven't seen Santino mistreat her? He's argued with her, he's pulled her around by her wrist, he's lectured her, he tried to get her out of her date with Simmons. It might not be as severe as Savage, but it's there.

Oh lord, a 'Trevor Murdoch in love' angle would be comedy gold. Especially if it's with Mickie James, one of the few divas that can actually act. I hope Cade is practicing his exasperated face in a mirror right now.

If they do a "Trevor Murdoch in love" angle, I hope they go the way of Larry The Cable Guy in love sort of thing, as long as they don't EVER say "Git-er-done!". Not a lovesick puppy, but redneck in love, courtin' her with a big ass buckle, her own chew tin, etc.

Personally, if they do a "Murdoch in Love", I'd rather it be with someone completely unexpected...

...like Jeff Hardy.

Now Y'all think about that.

If 'X' is replaced with the next letter of the alphabet, 'Y', and the 9, representing the 9th letter of the alphabet, 'I', is replaced with the 10th letter of the alphabet, 'J', then X29 could become Y2J, but it seems like a bit of a stretch. One of the best raws in a long time, and a lot of wrestling for a change. My Comments.

1) I still don't like Mr. Kennedy but his performance last night (as well as the Orton, Michaels, and Hardy) was great. He shined when given the role of the lead in for Raw. Good job.

2) HHH Umaga angle for building up the PPV worked out well also.

3) Holly and Rhodes showed good chemistry in their matches so they will probably show good chemistry as tag team partners. Shelton/Haas are jobbers now, Hass losing on HEAT shows you how far the doghouse he is.

4) Women's title match. I'll give Beth a half-pass, she had to improvise a real quick finish. Up til then, Michelle was showing some talent in the ring. I don't give the ref a pass, they should be trained to know better, he should have flung himself over her body, and stopped the match right there. It's also possible that Candice spoke an instruction to Phoenix on what to do.

5) Hornswoggle, okay, we've had fun, time to end this thing.

6) Please no more Santigo vs Simmons matches.

7) Carlito jobbing to DV Smith???? It's like jeckle and hyde with Carlito, one week, he's the leading heel, the next week, getting beat by someone you've never heard of. Jobbing matches is why Duggan and Val Venis are still on the roster. But nice to see a fresh face on Raw.

I liked the show especially the first hour. And no Vince on the show. Life is good.

Or maybe she didn't realize the camera was on her when she did that? The camera also caught Paul London saying (to Mickie) "is he OK?". Maybe they're setting up London/Mickie feuding over Trevor's affections? Which would be odd, since London was the one w/ some heat not long ago, and Kendrick is the pretty one of the group, and Trevor doesn't look like he'd go for the butch-er looking London......um, maybe I've said too much.

But, yeah, at first I chalked up Mickie's reaction at the end to legit concern for Murdoch after he dumped himself on his neck/side of his head from Cade's clothesline, but you'd figure she'd be able to keep her emotions under wraps, so it probably is leading to some sort of storyline.

I hate to agree with KJames, heh, but I gotta say, Kennedy really blew last night. I don't understand the praise for him at all. I don't know how long Kennedy's been back from suspension, but he looked absolutely terrible. He screwed up at least four moves in there: Michaels' swinging neckbreaker most notably, that abdominal twist, his timing was bad when Jeff leapt on him off the irish whip, and he was out of position for a swan-ton. Why are they feeding Carlito to a rookie when this lump is dragging down the entire main event? Maybe it was a bad night, I dunno, I don't really watch frequently enough to make that judgment, but that was some of the sloppiest work I've seen. When you're in a match with Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy and you're the one who looks sloppy, that's really saying something.

Everything else was great. I barely fast-forwarded anything. As some who hasn't watched in months, other things that struck me were: Shelton going Butch Reed. Butch should come in to manage him. Cody Rhodes obviously got his charisma from his mother's side of the family, cuz damn. That's like, Dean Malenko-like lack-of-fire. Harry is sloppy. Comparisons to his dad will not favour him for long if he doesn't tighten up his shit. I feared for Candice's life. I agree the ref and that giant tranny she was fighting are idiots. Candice's ring work is a lot better than it was the last time I saw her have a match, which musta been spring. Santino makes me laugh out loud. Sometimes I even LMAO. And if there's carpet down, I may even ROTFL. Perhaps, one of this weeks, I'll flat out just LSHISMP. Ten points for figuring that last one out. HINT: It's gross.

As for the show, I couldn't decide when it happened whether it was a work or a shoot injury, since I didn't figure they'd be so dumb as to allow Beth to pull Candace out of the corner by her hair after she was so obviously knocked out. Seeing her arms go limp, but locked in place (similar to a football player getting ko'd), made it look real. But the old CRZism of 'if you see it on tv, it's a work' stuck in my mind.

Why are they feeding Carlito to a rookie when this lump is dragging down the entire main event?

Because then Carlito would be dragging down the entire ME. 6 of 1, half-dozen of the other.

I'll agree that Kennedy hasn't done anything during his WWE tenure to set me all a-twitter (outside of carrying Batista to a couple good matches on SD), but what's Carlito ever done that'd make you think he'd be a better ME'er? He's even crappier than Kennedy.

Santino's promo from RAW (3m02s)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQRpMhpSnoE

I've watched this and cracked up a half a dozen times since I found it on YouTube this morning.

It's all so clear to me now: The SaveUs viral video is Chris Jericho's return and its interrupting Santino this week is for a reason. After reading Jericho's book last week, I've realized Santino has been acting as 1998 Chris Jericho. Jericho describes all of his methods for his WCW heel turn: acting like a total pussy, mispronouncing people's names ("Jillian" Garcia), and how he "feuded" with Goldberg for weeks by calling him out. Santino has been doing the exact same thing with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Santino is most assuredly taking the Stunner and beerbath he's been begging for at Cyber Sunday.

But the other thing Santino has been doing is performing as the best comedy promo guy in WWE. When Jericho debuted the first time in 1999, he debuted against The Rock, the best comedy promo guy of the time. Santino's no Rock, especially not in the ring, but he's the best we have right now.

Chris Jericho's second coming will be a promo war against Santino. If it happens, it'll be comedy gold. A match borne from it would probably be wrestling crap, but still, comedy gold.

You don't think Chris can carry Santino? Even with months of ring rust, I can see CJ dragging Marella to *** at the least.

***? REALLY? The man who was blown up after ten minutes when he was in the main event/upper card. I doubt he could carry him to anything above an abortion level match.

Jeff Hardy delivers the promo of his life, and was pretty much on fire the whole night. See what no meth can do kids?

Beth Phoenix dragging Candice by the arm was about as brutal as Scott Steiner hooking the (broken) leg of Sid.
