-WWE Open.

-RAW Open.

-RAW (and pyro!) is LIVE from the Cajun Dome as Jim Ross introduces himself and The King for a very special RAW.

1- BOBBY LASHLEY VS. KING BOOKER
Lashley comes out to a mixed reaction, lot of boos by the sound of it. Considering his opponent here, they may be going for more of a tweener role for Lashley. Lashley gives Booker the STARE OF DOOM (which is pretty much the only facial expression he shows). Booker doesnt give a clean break on a lock-up. Hes caught coming out of the corner with a powerslam by Lashley. Lashley buries the shoulders into the gut of Booker. Nice gut-buster from Lashley for a two count. Suplex and another pin attempt for just one. Booker takes over and goes after the knee of Lashley. But coming off the rope, Lashley knocks Booker down with a clothesline. Bodyslam by the former Army Sargent, and the crowd is chanting his name. Dominator by Lashley and Booker surprisingly kicks out. Standing suplex by Lashley and Mr. Kennedy runs in for the DQ.

WINNER: Lashley by DQ at 3:19.

-The two heels pound away at Lashley until Coachs music hits. Apparently, it was supposed to be Lashley and Cena vs. Booker and Kennedy in the main event, but since Coach sent Cena to L.A. (no reason given, and its not like theyre gonna say, Hes on Larry King, feel free to change the channel), its gonna be Lashley and a partner of his choosing vs. Booker and Kennedy. After the announcement, Lashley takes out the duo, who end up backing up the ramp as we go to break.

[Break]

-Backstage, Coach compliments William Regal for running the show last week. Regal says he got a lot of thumbs up for last weeks show. Coach informs Regal that he has a match tonight against the Sandman. It was worth it just to see Regal say, in his sour face, The...Sandman?

2- UMAGA VS. SANTINO MARELLA, I.C. TITLE MATCH
Marella must be invoking his re-match clause. Marella goes for a cross-body off the ropes, and Umaga catches him and slams him down. Couple chops from Umaga are next. Maria wanders down to ringside as the beating on Marella continues. Another hard chop from Umaga and Santino goes down. Marella gets choked on the bottom rope by the new IC champ. Umaga whips Marella into the opposite turnbuckle, and he goes in chest first, then down to the mat. In terms of speed and action, I think I saw a snail pass this match. Umaga misses a headbutt from the middle rope, and back comes Santino. Seated dropkick gets one, then he gets caught with a crescent kick. Marella gets placed in the corner, then gets butt-splashed. Umaga has the thumb ready, and he buries it in Santinos neck to retain.

WINNER: Umaga at 5:01.

-Maria consoles Santino in the ring after the match.

-Lashley is walking backstage, then heads into a room- the door is helpfully labeled RAW Locker Room.

[Break]

3- LANCE CADE AND TREVOR MURDOCH VS. THE HIGHLANDERS
Cade starts things off with Rory. Side headlock by Cade after an initial knockdown. Cade with a fireman carry take-over and boy hes happy about that. Rory with a headbutt to the gut and Murdoch tags in. He ends up on the outside but comes back in and take Rory down with a headlock take-down. Hard slap on the back by Murdoch, then an elbow into the corner on Rory and a snap-mare by Trevor. Back to a vertical base, Rory with a jawbreaker, then he tags out to Robbie, who hits a dropkick, and desperately tries to get the crowd into it. Flapjack by Robbie for two. All four men are in now and the heels hit the Sweet N Sour (how come JR doesnt call it that anymore?) on Robbie for the win.

WINNERS: Cade & Murdoch at 3:00.

-Maria tries to talk to Santino backstage, and wants to go out tonight. Santino doesnt want everyone pointing and saying, Look, theres the guy who didnt deserve to be IC Champ. Santino invites Maria up to his room, because he shouldnt be alone tonight.

[Break]

-Tonight, Lashley and a partner of his choosing take on Kennedy and Booker.

-Backstage, Shelton Benjamin is getting ready for his match. Charlie Haas comes in and makes fun of him kissing Bookers hand last week. Shelton says its his birthday today, and hes so confident hell win tonight, hell kiss Charlie on the lips if he loses. Haas laughs and wishes him good luck, then realizes what he agreed to.

-Video package on John Cena is shown.

[Break]

4- SNITSKY VS. SUPER CRAZY
God, they gotta stop with those close-ups on Snitsky. Snitsky drills Crazy rib first into the turnbuckle, then works on the lower lumbar region of Crazy. Headbutt follows that, then a whip into the turnbuckle. Pump-handle slam ends it.

WINNER: Snitsky at 1:04.

-After the match, he goes to work with another pump-handle slam. I was hoping theyd follow up the Kennedy/Crazy situation from last week.

-J.R. talks about one of the most embarrassing moments hes seen in wrestling last week, when Randy Orton slapped Dusty Rhodes. I think JR said a lack of disrespect there. We then see the clip of what happened last week.

-J.R. actually corrects himself, then we see The Dream walking backstage, headed to the ring to confront the Legend Killer, next.

[Break]

-Triple H returns soon. Is that going to be his new music?

-Dusty Rhodes comes out. He calls Randy Ahton out. Rhodes calls Orton a disrespectful, snotty-nosed punk. Dusty gets amped up, talking about Orton being disrespectful to the people that came ahead of him. Orton talks about his accomplishments, then Dusty tells him to look at him when hes talking to him, which got a big pop from the crowd. Orton wants Dusty to fight at the Great American Bash (an event you created, he said- I was hoping for War Games!). Rhodes says hes in no shape to do that at this time in his career. Orton tells Rhodes to do it for his son Cody. Dust finally says hell fight, but on his terms. That is, a Texas Bull-Rope Match. Orton accepts. As the two are face-to-face, Cody comes running out to the ring. Orton threatens him, and then they go nose-to-chin. Cody slaps Orton and, after surveying the scene, (including the crowd chanting, Cody, Cody) decides to head to the back. I hope they give Cody Dustins WCW music (They call him the natural, thats his name...)!

-Tonight, Lashley and a partner of his choosing, take on Booker and Kennedy.

[Break]

-Wow, later tonight, theyll be talking to John Cena, who was on Larry King Live tonight. Interesting. I notice they mention this after Larrys show is over.

5- PAUL LONDON VS. SHELTON BENJAMIN
London works out of a tie-up, but gets pushed away. London looks like a homeless man with that beard. Hammerlock by Benjamin. I dont get this bet....neither wants to do it, so whats stopping them from just saying, screw it? Benjamin knocks London down, but misses a clothesline. London uses his educated feet to take down Shelton. Front chancery by London, but he ends up squashed in the corner. Benjamin with a nice back-breaker on London, who then gets pushed shoulder-first into the buckle. Arm-bar by Shelton and London tries to punch out of it. Hurricanrana by London, followed by a dropkick. Inside cradle gets two, then Shelton hits a savate kick. Bodyslam on London, with the arm barred. London sneaks in a hurricanrana into a pinning combination, and that wins it.

WINNER: London at 3:47.

-Super Crazy has his ribs taped backstage and Kennedy comes upon him and attacks. He does some trash talking, then leaves Crazy lying on the floor.

-Candice and Mickie are walking backstage, heading to the ring for a Diva tag match.

[Break]

-Shelton is backstage and he comes upon Charlie. They laugh it off, until Haas suggests Benjamin kiss his hand. Shelton makes angry faces, then Haas says, gotcha! They start hugging and embracing until Ron Simmons walks in and goes, Damn! The Worlds Greatest Tag Team then back off each other in disgust.

6- MICKIE JAMES AND CANDICE MICHELLE VS. JILLIAN HALL AND MELINA
Melina has the mic on the stage. She says shes invoking her re-match clause at the Bash. Melina says her ankle is sprained and she wont be able to compete. Taking her place....Beth Phoenix.

6- MICKIE JAMES AND CANDICE MICHELLE VS. JILLIAN HALL AND BETH PHOENIX
Mickie catches Beth with a back elbow and tries a hurricanrana by Beth holds on. Mickie takes out Jillian, but Beth grabs hold of her and throws her down. Jillian tags in but misses a charge in the corner. Mickie comes out and takes down Beth, then tags in Candice. Candice hits a few dropkicks, but gets kicked in the gut by Jillian. Side Russian leg sweep by Candice into a pin until Beth interrupts. This draws Mickie in and those two end up outside. Sidewalk slam by Jillian for a two-count. Clothesline by Jillian misses and gets turned into a back-slide by Candice for three.

WINNERS: Candice and Mickie at 1:49.

-After the match, the three heels take out Mickie in the ring until Candice comes back to almost even things up.

-Backstage Arn Anderson is talking to Lashley. JR suspects hes giving advice on who to pick as a partner.

[Break]

-Sure, Triple H gets TWO ads for his comeback while everybody else gets one....

-King Booker and Kennedy are backstage, plotting against Lashley. Booker corrects Kennedy, saying only Mr. Kennedy was made to look like a fool last week.

7- WILLIAM REGAL VS. THE SANDMAN
Carlito is doing commentary for this match. Regal hammers away before the bell and knees Sandman right in the face, several times. Quick cover comes up empty. Sandman fights back with shots to the gut, but Regal knocks him back down. Kneelift by Sandman, and a couple right hands, but then is tossed through the middle rope. Carlito goes to attack, but gets nailed with the cane, then so does Regal.

WINNER: Regal by DQ at 1:19.

-After the break, the announcers will talk with John Cena.

[Break]

-We get a video package on Lashley, much like the one on Cena from earlier.

-Lawler mentions Cena was on Larry King, and of course, asks the tough question about Cena being on the show: Did he come off smarter than Paris Hilton. They never address what was discussed, they go right into talking about Cena/Lashley at the Bash. After the short talk, the GAB card is run down.

-King Booker makes his entrance- the match will be next!

[Break]

8- KING BOOKER AND MR. KENNEDY VS. LASHLEY AND JEFF HARDY
Wow, thats an interesting twist. Booker goes right after Hardy in the corner. Bookers axe kick misses, and Jeff does the double legdrop to the groin/abdomen for a near-fall. Jeff with an arm-wringer, but Booker uses the hair to back him into the corner. Booker with a knee to the gut, then a tag to Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy gets a couple kicks and punches in, then unleashes the boots on Hardy in the corner. Mule kick by Jeff, then the dropkick in the corner. Pin attempt gets two. Hardy makes the tag to Lashley, and Kennedy tries to tag out, but Booker jumps off the apron. Kennedy gets suplexed for one. Lashley knocks Booker off the apron and Jeff tags in. Lashley plays the foot-stool and Jeff goes flying. Lateral press gets only two. Booker nails Jeff as he goes into the ropes, which allows Kennedy to sneak in a clothesline. Standing side-kick by Booker for a two-count. High-risk maneuver knocks Booker down and both men are on the mat. They both make a tag, and Lashley is a house-of-fire. Kennedy just gets tossed around like a rag-doll. Back-breaker by Lashley and Booker interrupts the pin. Hardy takes him out and they both end up at ringside. Lashley has Kennedy up, but he sneaks off, goes off the ropes and gets speared by Lashley. Thatll do it.

WINNERS: Lashley and Hardy at 6:07.

-RAW goes off the air with the winners celebrating in the ring.

I'll admit, the leap frog-to-spear sequence looked pretty good coming from a guy Lashley's size. Considering the miracles Cena managed to pull off with Khali, I'm fully expecting a good match between Cena and Lashley.

It's been so long since I've seen Beth Phoenix that I literally don't remember when she debuted. I could be mistaken, but wasn't she originally supposed to get involved in the initial Trish/Mickey feud?

Nothing else to say about this show, really. It was just there.

- I think I liked this week's show less than last week's show do to a lack of a King Booker addressing his people segment. Although, I do enjoy a good Dusty Rhodes filibuster every so often so at least there was that.

- Nice work by the truck to cut away every time it looked like they were going to get a close up of Snitsky's back.

- I hope that they brought London on Raw for more than 3 minute matches.

- I have no problem with Lashley's pick for a partner, but the match really needed to be doubled in length to be worthy of a main event and a restart of the first match.

I guess we are just going to play the waiting game for Helmsley's return.

Beth Phoenix was interjected right after Trish got hurt, only to get her jaw broken in her first match.
With the departure of Molly Holly, I certainly welcome her back into the "blonde with a thick body" role.

So, Arn Anderson consults with Lashley and convinces him that Jeff Hardy is the best pick?
I guess the Horsemen did more partying than I had previously thought possible.

I only saw the last hour, but it was pretty entertaining. Moving on with some decent storylines for a change.

And, the video package of HHH shows him working his ass off in they gym, does that mean we get the old muscular Trip back? Or will we get the "who ate all the pie" HHH?

Well didn't Bobby Lashley win? Don't ever question the wisdom of The Enforcer!

What was the deal with Santino's "I shouldn't be alone tonight" talk? They really wouldn't go down that road, would they?

What road? He lost the match and decided to get some sympathy sex out of it. Smart thinking from Santino, though it doesn't take a lot to outsmart Maria.

Fun show overall. Dusty's stuff was good, the Hass/Benjamin segment was as entertaining as they've been in ages and the matches were unoffensive.

Gotta like that London's dog-house treatment is going to Raw and winning matches.

I like Jeff Hardy, and I'd have liked him as the mystery partner if I thought this was in any way an attempt to elevate him into the main event mix ... but writer dudes, Lashley's the guy who's been spending the last four months or so winning 3-on-1 handicap matches, remember? I wasn't buying this from the start. After all the video inserts, I was expecting Rey or HHH to pay off the angle.

So did Kennedy miss his cue, forcing Booker to kick out of the Dominator?

Kudos to the handful of fans who tried to get a "Su-per Cra-zy" chant going while he was getting squashed. Because the WWE is all about giving us the Backne-riddled muscleheads they know we want. Security must have confiscated all the crickets at the door.

I'm not sure what's the point of having Sandman get DQ'd every week, I think he should be able to figure out that there's no more extreme rules.

If we all know WWE the way I think we do, I'd say it's fair to assume they are going for a "date rape" style angle. Before you start shaking your heads in disbelief, think about it...

What exactly was JR yelling while Lashley was finishing up the main event? It kinda sounded like BLAAAAR BLAAAAAR BLAAAAAR

Have there been some recent trademark/litigation issues of which we're not aware? I couldn't help but notice a classic WWE-style eradication of Sandman's "The" seems to have taken place on last night's show AND wwe.com.

That isn't "new" Triple H music, that's the stuff he was (half) using just before DX got back together.

That's all I got.

I was half way convinced the mystery partner would be HHH, and was actually excited about the idea. Shocking, I know.

So, I was a little disappointed in getting Jeff instead, as I am convinced they are not going to push him anyway after he needlessly jobbed the IC belt to Umaga going into WM. Plus, he shouldn't be pushed as long as he does those retarded convulsions during his entrance.

I am seriously beginning to doubt that Matt is going to get a push either, I think they are only teasing us.

If London and Benjamin were given a little more time, they could have had a pretty good little match. Too bad creative is more concerned with having two of the more talented wrestlers on the roster kiss each other on national television.

Who did Kennedy piss off??

Shelton's over-the-shoulder backbreaker was awesome. Looks like he's been working on new moves during house shows.

I was also impressed with the snap Snitsky put into those pumphandle slams. He worked the back throughout the match in respectable ways (OK, maybe not the headbutt) and then finished with a move targeting that area.

The Lovely Mrs. Tracker is hypnotized by Lashley's definition. Especially the hamstrings.

I think the idea here was to tease HHH hard while doing a mystery partner angle at the same time with the intent of stealing a bonus rating for HHH's presumed/implied comeback before it happens for realsies.

    Who did Kennedy piss off??

I think Booker is being preserved as HHH's first victim in a feud to determine the real King of Kings, so that meant either Kennedy or Jeff had to do the job and Lashley's supposed to look the strongest going into the title match. Not that bringing Kennedy back with no specific program and losing twice would've been my idea for him, but based on the lay of the land, he was the logical loser. I would've saved the destruction of Super Crazy for Kennedy though.

Yeah, it did seem like they were leading up to Booker jobbing to HHH when he returns. I assume Summerslam?

With the recent returns of Booker and KK, HHH and Rey on deck, and HBK probably back in the near future, it looks like the rosters will get that much needed refreshing that the draft only teased us with. Well, at least Raw.

As much as I don't want to see Booker job to HHH, at least he is still involved in high profile matches. I was afraid Book would lose his "spot" while he was injured. No such concern about HHH while he was out injured, however.

Yeah, it did seem like they were leading up to Booker jobbing to HHH when he returns. I assume Summerslam?

I reckon, because if he was coming back before the Bash you figure they would've given the date during his return promos. Whether he comes back at the GAB or TV the night after will probably say something about whether they're more concerned with turning around the plummeting PPV buys or doing a rating.

I know I was saying before that I expected Randy to be the first opponent, but I believe there was a MeltzHint that he's actually getting the belt (to transition to HHH), which is why they booked Lashley/Cena and the fiveway on PPV instead of Cena/Randy. Because they're saving it and the title change for SummerSlam.

There was the item in the WON a few weeks ago about how Orton was changed from HHH's return opponent (apparently to Booker based on last night) because once they started the Randy Orton, Head Killer renewed push, HHH and Vince thought they could put the belt on him and have Cena and HHH chase, and Cena doesn't need the belt because he's so over and being without it might give him less resentment from the fans that hate him, a la when Edge had it.

Then in one of his updates last week, Dave said something about how if Cena keeps the belt until [some date in the fall], he'd have the longest reign since [guy], but as of current plans, he wouldn't have it that long. So maybe we're getting Randy Orton SummerSlam Title Win #2, following his first championship in 2004, when he defeated ???UNKNOWN WRESTLER???.
