I know... I got nothing either. But at least there'll be 50% more nothing next week!

Once again, this week's MVP: UMAGA

Victoria really DID need to pull her pants up

Will ECW Original Joey Matthews make a triumphant return? (And will he find Christian York along the way?)

Did you hear Marty Elias give Umaga and Jeff Hardy the "three minutes" cue, and did you then await Eric Bischoff running out to say "Did I just hear someone say..."

Yes, we were waiting for John Cena to rescue Jeff Hardy right after Umaga killed him. Too bad!

That's all I got. MOST EXTREME ELIMINATION CHALLENGE

I wonder if I'll be as disappointed by Angle/Joe II as I was by Angle/Joe I (and also, if I'll continue to think those people who spoke of it so glowingly are nuts)

OKAY

...

GO

(EDIT: I forgot to add that next week's 30 man battle royal gets the qualifier "biggest in RAW history" because "Prime Time Wrestling" had a 40 man battle royal on at least one occasion - of course, the last one I remember seeing had something like 20 jobbers and 20 superstars so it really wasn't as exciting as you might think - yeah, it was actually less exciting than a "World War 3" battle royal! SO. We got three gimmick weeks in a row coming up: 3hrs next week, Christmas in Iraq Christmas, and K-Fed 1/1/07. Maybe we should have enjoyed this week a bit more given that there was a lot of wrestling and less gimmick...)

Man, they really made Cena look like a bully in that segment....The tag match was really awkward at times, but the crowd was into it....I liked the tag match, but the Highlanders have been treated as such a joke that the crowd didn't care. And how did TWGTT go from helping the Highlanders stop losing their money to fighting them?....

I guess its good they kept Edge/Triple H short to not give much away, but they shouldn't have plugged it so much....The six-man tag match was pretty competitive....The Victoria/Torrie match wasn't horrible, and I liked the psychology of Masters attacking Torrie to get to Carlito....

I'm surprised they didn't have Hardy lose clean to Umaga, but then again, Umaga doesn't really need the title. It was a more competitive match than I figured too....Nitro and Cena had a pretty spirited battle. I don't know that it hurts Nitro much to lose clean.

- A 3 hour Raw sounds really painful. I wonder if they will fill the time with wrestling.

- I wouldn't mind seeing more Jerry Lawler in the ring, but even a ring vet like him is having a hard time covering for Master's miscues.

- How badly do you think DX would have liked to have had Ric Flair's pop when he showed up in the ring?

- Kenny is going to make an excellent lackey for awhile.

We had a three-hour Raw about six weeks ago, it was pretty good. Although the Battle Royal seems like a weird thing to book only a month or so before the Rumble.

This was a really well-done show. I'm guessing Kenny/Flair and Cryme Tyme/WGTT (maybe for the tag titles) get booked soon for New Year's Revolution. Add the Women's Title Match Carlito/Masters and should be a fun little PPV.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. 2 solid matches on free TV, can't really complain about that. Even if they did bait and switch Edge-HHH, but I guess they will save that for 'Mania.

I suppose I got my hopes up for the tag division, even though WGTT are together, it appears MNM and the Hardyz are not.

Another week ... another great Ron Simmons appearance ...

I liked how JR mentioned something about Kenny not having a last name ...

World's Greatest Tag Team .... hell yes ... and they actually showed some personality, which is always a plus ... just get the matching tights back guys ...

Totally agree. No more wierd bandana Haas. No more carribean Shelton. Get back those matching tights. You've already got the music and the name... now you just need the damn tights!

I thought it was a clean cut RAW that allowed us to enjoy the storylines for what they are. That works when you have an enjoyable cast of characters and logically booked feuds which have some how shown up on RAW (which about three weeks ago couldn't have been any more confusing or unentertaining). The more I think about it the more I think we need to keep RAW / SD / ECW on their own shows and stop with the "one time tag" stuff and Cena teaming with Batista at Armageddon. It doesn't make sense and it just makes people confused. Let each brand be it's own if you want to establish these things as seperate entities. That is what Linda has repeatedly preached about the split on the quarterly calls, now they just need to execute.

Wow, by the time New Year's Revolution rolls around, won't that be like 4 PPV's in about 6 weeks, dating back to Surv. Series?

That's a bit much, and frankly, none of them have looked that interesting. So it seems like the rosters are too watered down to support all of these "big" PPV's.

I, for one, would not shed a tear if they eliminated ECW, and then consolidated SD! with Raw. The notion that Vince needs competition is a good argument for a brand split, but how much has the product improved since 2002? It has gotten worse, in my opinion.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the Cryme Tyme/sheepherders/WGTT segment?

It's not about improving the product, it's about having twice the revenue streams. The brand split allows them to run two house shows crews at a time, with twice the merchandising options and twice the number of stands to sell them. I'd be in favour of folding ECW into SmackDown, as I think that combined roster would smoke pretty much every other televised product right now, but I can see why Vince isn't itching to end the two-show formula.

I agree, the most frustrating part is, the WWE seems to be happy with the current situation. Ratings and buy rates, while down quite a bit from their heydey of 98-02, have leveled off, and are not continuing to go down. So if they can get 200,000 buys on a lousy ECW or SD! PPV, that is good enough for them. Enough people are in the habit of buying and watching, that the numbers will stay consistent as long as the quality stays at least watchable. But remember when it was must see TV? That's a long way from just watchable.

I would like to see more of Lawler in the ring also if they would let his character fight like he does/did in Memphis. I know the matches he has been through and what he is capable of and all WWE does is make him look like a lowly jobber or at best a low mid carder.

Of course it doesn't help that he is a face instead of a heel and he makes ALOT better heel than a face.
