Shane's "giant killer" mantra was a joke from day one, and an attempt to play off of the crowd constantly chanting "Shane's a pussy!" If I recall, whenever he beat Big Show, he had Test or a cadre of WCW wrestlers there to help him get the Macho Mac Elbow in for the pin. It was a Honky Tonk deal, where Shane's full of big-balled-bluster about how he beat the Big Show when in reality he needed a bunch of help and cheating to do it.

Hey what about the time Shane beat the ever-loving shit out of Kurt Angle? That right there is reason enough for me to believe that Shane could at the very least temporarily stun Kane (which is what he did last night). Upon looking at the show again, it seemed more like Kane was saying "fuck this bullshit, i'm heading back to house arrest" instead of running from Shane. Either way, this Kane angle is the most interesting stuff WWE has done in forever.

My fear is that the Kane/Shane match (if it happens) would be sold as a "let's see what insane bump he takes this year" match. I don't need the see Shane cement his reputation by, well, cementing his body. The Kurt Angle match at KotR was just friggin' grisly to watch.

I can handle turnbuckle-to-table elbow drops and croskcrew splashes, but we don't need to see the WWE resort to the crippling shit again. Shane has pushed his luck too much already.

No, he's not on HEAT. He was selling the bump from last week. Coach announced he suffered a "concussion" and was recouperating (sp?) at home.

He'll probably return in a few weeks. Just in time for him NOT to have a match at SummerSlam. YAY!

Ya, I remember that CLASSIC he put on at last year's Summerslam. That was a standout! How many times can someone look bored whilst being put into a submission hold? How much can he no sell? I think that was the question RVD was trying to answer when he wrestled Benoit last year.

I was watching that match the other day, and I seriously don't think RVD's selling was THAT bad. Sure, it wasn't great or anything, but was it really bad enough to justify him being totally de-pushed? If workrate is THAT important, does that mean that green John Cena should be doing jobs on Velocity, despite him being immensley over? Does RVD's selling really mean THAT much to the fans?

Of course, I haven't read my "Blindly Follow Scott Keith" handbook in a long time.

Kane was locked up in that van for over 2 hours, then he was taken directly to the ring. Obviously, once Shane hit him with the chair, Kane was afraid he was going to lose control and piss himself in front of the entire audience, thus resulting in the dreaded laughter he hates so much. So, first chance he got, he headed to the nearest toilet. After Shane got ahold of him again and knocked him off the stage, Kane was smiling because his crotch was covered with cables and trash and such, thus nobody could tell he was peeing on national television.

If only he'd peed himself about 20 years ago when he caught fire, none of this woulda happened.

A few thoughts:

Overall, a rather pedestrian show. On the bright side, at least every 32 seconds wasn't devoted to Good Ol' JR's medical condition.
I am in favor of longer matches. However, if longer matches are going to be incorporated, they shouldn't include Test, Steiner, or La Resistance.
Does it seem like the only plan they had for the IC Title was Booker winning it eventually?
All four McMahon's on TV in a one week time period. Doesn't that violate the Geneva Convention? And if not, it should.
Australian Tour this week, which means blown spots a plenty should be occurring on next week's RAW.
I wonder if the Jericho beatdown by Nash was to knock him off RAW next week, in order to prevent the Canadian face turn. And, after making a member of the Clique tap last week, a beatdown had to be expected this week.
That Lance Storm push really seems to be going strong.
And, Flair vs. "The Disappointment" in Canada? This might be "The Disappointment's" Waterloo when the crowd turns on him. Of course, his (yeast) infection that developed the last time he was scheduled to compete in Canada could reoccur in the next few days.

If I recall, Angle beat the fuck out of Shane, throwing him through plate glass windows and dropping him on his head at every oppourtunity. Yep...I can see why they'd want to push another psuedo-wrestler rather than, you know, an actual wrestler.

I haven't said anything on the Kane stuff since he unmasked because I can't decide if I like it or not, but they shouldn't be farting around with it by pushing Shane into the Raw main-event angle (Triple H/Goldberg is second fiddle to this and you know it).

What you have is selective memory. The match was one where Angle was taken to the limit. The reason HHH/Goldberg is second fiddle right now to this, is because it isn't as popular. Seems to make sense to me.

Well, if that IS the case (and I severely doubt it is since I have the match on tape and have watched it a couple times over the past few years and seem to remember Shane being left in a pool of his own blood each time), then can you please explain to me why the boss's non-wrestling son 1) was being made to look strong against Angle (allegedly) and 2) why he's now being booked into the main-event Raw storyline despite not doing jack fuck for the last 2 years?

most of Raw was just "eh" for me. The HiLite Reel continues to keep the show together. at least Test was in the first match so I wouldn't fall asleeep, and Steiner actually was allright.
Kevin Nash as Greybeard the Pirate. I thought someones crazy grandpa was doing a cruise in.He's as old as Moondog Spot.
Molly so rules the Women's world. I think she needs some mic time, being Miss "I'm all that and the pound bag of tortilla chips, warm from the oven covered in cheese."she should be like Libby was on Sabrina. She should start dressing super stylish be just devastatinly rude (basically a female Eddy Guerrero.)I like Gail and hope she gets to wrestle on Heat and Raw Tag matches for awhile.Given the time frame, she could work in well with Lita. And if they are dredging the depths for content, why not have 2 women's matches on Raw so nobody forgets Ivory and Trish still exist.
Next week I want to see Kane shoot some lightning out of his hands like he did when he was feuding with UT.

Hello, RVD's been wrestling for about 12 years, you would figure he'd learn to sell by now, "I was in ECW" is no more a pass than Taker or Kane's "we are supernatural tough guys."

the fans will simply say "But he Kicks people in the face with a chair! and he does a frog splash!"

And if you need SK to point things out for you, you're sorely underinformed.

1. I must say, I wasn't buying Kane as the Machiavellian heel. I thought that it was out of character for him to not attack Austin, just so that Austin couldn't attack him. He set JR on fire. He tombstoned Linda McMahon. Kane's not a bully, he's a monster who is out of control. Otherwise, nothing makes sense. So now we believe that Kane wouldn't attack Austin because he knew Austin wouldn't attack him. I don't. The Kane from the last few weeks would've gone apeshit on everyone the moment that he was released from the shackles, just because he is being made to look like a spectacle.

2. Another thing - For continuity's sake, they should stop using the term "house arrest" when they mean protective supervision. Remember, Kane was institutionalized, and is probably not going to face major criminal charges because he is not guilty by reason of insanity. His guardia used to be Paul Bearer, but I believe he transfered guardianship to Vince McMahon, Given that Kane had been "cured" some time ago, he was able to conduct his own affairs, but after this rash of criminality, the guardianship was reactivated, with (probably) Vince as guardian. THIS could explain why sheriffs are assisting WWE in the court-mandated supervision, but not operating under any criminal authority. This could also explain why Vince believes that he can control Kane. However, Kane, after experiencing lucidity, might have an aversion to being controlled and/or used, and (hopefully) he'll lash out against Vince soon.

3. Tag division - Yeah, I like Jindrak & Cade, but whatever happened to giving tag team names? This is the first step to getting a tag team over. I see that they wore matching tights; that's a good touch. As for the Dudleyz, creative needs to come up with a compelling reason for them to hate La Resistance. Hmmm...how about the fact that they are too "dignified" to put people through tables?

4. Rico-Val - If they want to get the feud over, they need to ratchet up the sexual tension. Since ostensibly, the feud is about Val wanting Jackie for one of his films, they should have a match where if Jackie wins, she'll be Val's model and valet for 30 days, but if Rico wins, Val will be Rico's model and valet for 30 days. Then Val could lose, and be subjected to a makeover and sexual harassment. This could also create a TRUE mismatched tag team, Rico and Val.

5. IC division - Yup, Booker IS just there. Why not just have him fight guys in singles matches and win? The feud with Christian didn't help either, and adding Test and Steiner to the mix, unless they get some promos in, is just multiplying the monotony...and Lance Storm is boring? Why not add Storm and RVD to that mix and go for a Six-Way at the PayPerView? It can't hurt...

He didn't look "strong" against Angle. He looked like he was barely holding his own, being too damn stubborn to quit even when he was getting his ass kicked. The only times he got the better of Kurt was thanks to sneak attacks and weapon shots, which... hey! What a coincidence, that's exactly what happened with Kane!

As for him being booked into the "main-event Raw storyline"... the supposed "real" main event Raw SL (Goldberg vs. HHH) is about three years too late to be really interesting, and the only other people in the mix for Kane to fight are MUCH worse ideas. What, you'd rather have Jerry Lawler fighting the Big Red Machine? A two-on-one match with JR AND Lawler? Or (god forbid) Vince and/or Linda? Pete Rose stepping in as a hired gun? (Okay, that one would be kinda cool...)

Shane's a stepping stone on the way to the match they're obviously building up for, Kane/Austin. And he's a stepping stone that may actually produce an entertaining segment or two in a storyline that has, so far, been far and away the most interesting thing on Raw in a long time. I'll take this over Zach Gowan, Inspirational Jobber any day, twice on Sunday.

What's funny/sad is that we have so stripped the ranks of the credible faces that we can't find another PPV opponent for Kane than Skippy McMahon. Now, I'm all for a spotfest where Kane slams and smashes, but dag...I bet they could've built up the Hurricane as a credible opponent, if they saw fit to.

The problem with McMahon's in main event spots is that they get all of the credit, and none of the blame. And they often steal limelight from guys that can...you know...maybe draw money for the WWE....

You forget Shane walking (well, more stumbling) out under his own power and Angle being almost just as badly battered then. He's been plugged in because the fans like him and it's a logical progression of the storyline. Quite frankly, there is little difference between Shane McMahon and RVD in this feud in my opinion.

Clearly this is all a plot for COOHHH to get the word abeyance over and make it a permanent part of the WWE lexicon. It would have been nice if Ryback had demolished Punk and got the win to boot just to shut the fans up.
