Vince McMahon should not be on Raw. Shane, on the other hand, is always welcome on my TV screen.

The opening match was very good. Booker and Christian were awesome of course. Steiner and Test are really growing on me for some reason. Test has his heel act down pat and I'm fine with Steiner as long as he's not main event.

I really wish the WWE would do something useful with Stevie.

Flair was really fired up there. I'm a huge fan of his 'crazy old man doing crazy things and probably on the verge of a heart attack' character.

Unlike most others on the board, I enjoyed the Rico/Val match. Rico is very entertaining and charasmatic. Val, as always, pulls off some very good wrestling. Good wrestling, great antics, fine match by me.

Jericho rules on the mic. Randy Orton was good too, but he pales in comparison when talking next to Jericho. And I agree with Lawler. (scary) Micheals kicked out of the RKO pin and tapped out to a submission that worked a completely different body part later. That is not a "tainted pin". Shut up Coach. I was ok with the Nash match and even the DQ ending, but something doesn't sit right about the beat down. It seemed to me that the face/heel roles should be reversed in this situation. I don't often see a face beat down a helpless heel for that long of an amount of time. At least not so viciously. I just ended up feeling sorry for Jericho. And by the way, who else wanted to punch that mean lady next to the uncovered guardrail? "Right here!" Yeah, I'll pop you right there, lady.

The Dudleys/Resistance fued really is in desperate need of something better than what is has right now. "We're American, and we don't like these guys." isn't cutting it. I winced when they said they didn't like La Resistance "cuz they're French."

The Rosey/Hurricane stuff is pretty funny. Here's hoping Rosey will play along some more instead of getting tired of it.

MOLLY WINS!! MOLLY WINS!! Thank you Vince McMahon! Be on both shows! Beat Angle for the title! Um, ok wait, no, but still, Molly winning made me content with the rest of the show and has made me happy for the rest of the night. Plus, Lawler put her over for having wrestling skills and didn't talk about her having a big butt. (Although she is bootylicious.) :-)

Like I said, Shane is awesome. Kane is awesome, sitting up and laughing like that. Steve Austin is awesome. Hell, why not, Vince is awesome too. Molly won! I'm so happy right now! Bring on next week's show!

Instead KANE comes across as a monster and Shane as someone who can hold his own.
    Hopefully Vince stays on Smackdown.
The good thing is Shane can pull off a pretty good match when needed.

If this was a standard build, with standard wrestlers I would agree with your thoughts. But, this isn't standard. You got one guy who you are trying to build as a monster heel, the other guy is the skinny and annoying bosses son who hasn't been seen since when, the end of the Invasion?

I could see Shane running in, getting a few shots on Kane. But I expected this dangerous beast to at least have enough balls to fight back. Instead he runs up the ramp all while getting blasted by chair shots. Listen, I wouldn't expect Rico to go running off like that, what about Kane.

"How cool would it have been to build up Summerslam by having Kane murder Shane McMahon? Not very."

I would have actully liked that, I would have liked for Kane to have murdered Shane in the ring tonight. Week one, the boys mom gets trashed. Week two, the boy tries to get revenge...but fails and ends up in the hospital. Week four, the boy comes back in bandages and broken ribs, gives a big heart warming speech about how he loves his mom, and how he will stop at nothing to get back at the guy. Then let the chips fall where they may at Summerslam. At least you would have had him as being invincible up until summerslam.

On the side, maybe I'm just thinking too old school, I was always a fan of how they built up Kane during the beginning of the storyline with Taker. And I was a fan of how they built taker his first year in company. So I kinda hated how they did Kane tonight.

Kane should *NOT* be retreating from Shane McMahon, period. Even if he got to no-sell a fall off the top of the platform and three chair shots, that really left a bad taste in my mouth. At least I find Shane fairly entertaining, and I admit he's got skills in the ring. He did the first WWE VanTerminator, after all.

If I were booking RAW, I'd have Kane destroy Shane at Summerslam and then set his unconscious body on fire. Then let RVD and him feud back and forth for a few months, then at Survivor Series have Shane run back out and hold the chair in front of Kane's face for a VanTerminator that lets RVD finally get back up to main-event status. Then let Kane go smash some other puny human, maybe even have Shane and Austin recruit a series of faces to throw at Kane in a futile effort to stop his rampage. But Kane will probably job to Daddy's Boy and then become Rico's sidekick, or something.

I didn't take it as Kane running away. Kane just didn't want to be bothered with Shane. If Shane was getting the best of him, he would not have been laughing at the end of the show. It was to show that Kane is just pure evil, he relished in Shane trying to put up a fight. To buld up a match for Summerslam, this is the right way to go about it. Shane keeps attacking Kane. Kane laughs it off until he reaches his breaking point then kills Shane at the PPV. Most likely they will go with the deal of Vince being the only one that can control Kane and holds Kane off of Shane until the PPV.

Like I said before, if Kane had been really hurt I would have had a problem, but with him laughing the attack off, I had no problem with it. Can't you guys let Shane come back with a big splash? It didn't kill Kane, everyone knows that if Kane would have fought back, Shane would be dead right now.

No, he's not on HEAT. He was selling the bump from last week. Coach announced he suffered a "concussion" and was recouperating (sp?) at home.

He'll probably return in a few weeks. Just in time for him NOT to have a match at SummerSlam. YAY!

Ya, I remember that CLASSIC he put on at last year's Summerslam. That was a standout! How many times can someone look bored whilst being put into a submission hold? How much can he no sell? I think that was the question RVD was trying to answer when he wrestled Benoit last year.

I don't see what the problem is with Kane/Shane. Even if you're beating a guy six ways till Sunday, does it really matter much if he's laughing at you the entire time you're doing it?

Yeesh, Kane utterly no-sold everything Shane had.....if he hadn't ended up at such a distance from him, you KNOW it would have ended with Shane getting dropped on his head just like his mommy did. Not much more you can ask, aside from burying Shane as soon as he made his dramatic reappearance, thus rendering his ever making a dramatic reappearance entirely pointless.....

Preach it.

I literally jumped out of my chair after the Molly-go-round and the 3 count and proceeded to mark out. Carry that title well, Nora!

Anyway, pretty lame show wrestling wise. I understand why Cade/Jindrak would get title shots after pinning the champs a couple weeks back, but also, it's pretty clear that the RAW tag division is seriously lacking. And i'm so tired of the Dudleyz schtick, it's not funny.

The Jericho/Nash thing seemd to drag on forever.

Sad to see the Heat GM fed to Goldberg (again).

As for the whole Kane thing, i'm glad to see my favorite McMahon back, but I don't know about the whole idea of him being the one to bring down Kane. I don't know where they're going with this. But obviously, his actions tonight made sense, avenging his mother's attack. Clearly he would be pissed and throw everything he had behind those shots.

Anyway...Molly's got gold! Can I get a w00t-w00t?

Well obviously they're turning Jericho face. I mean, he shaved the beard right?

Oh, and I see Kane/Shane being pretty decent as we know Shane is willing to do "Ho-Lee-Shit" bumps at PPVs, so Kane can REALLY destroy him!

Why not a tag match for Summerslam? Shane/RVD vs. Kane/Vince?

RAW was pretty average tonight, and I heartily agree with the folks that want new feuds for Booker, Christian, Test and Steiner.

Summerslam (RAW side) looks like....

*Goldberg/HHH
*Michaels/Orton
*Nash/Jericho
*Dudleys/La Resistance
*Something involving Kane and Shane
*Booker T/somebody for the IC title

- I liked the highlight reel, but would they decide if HBK is feuding with Orton or Jericho. I mean I would guess that they're setting up HBK/Orton for Summerslam, but HBK and Jericho have to have a final match too.

- Nash vs. Jericho alright by me and so was Booker/Steiner vs. the Brothers Trimm.

- Not looking forward to La Resistance vs. Dudleys but I doubt it will make the ppv. I mean since it's a joint ppv they won't a whole lot of matches per brand. Raw already has Kane vs. Shane, Triple H vs. Goldberg, HBK vs. Orton and hopefully they'll opt for a Booker T or Jericho match rather than the Duds.

- Triple H vs. Goldberg reminds me of Goldberg vs. Hogan in WCW, you knew it wasn't going to be a pretty match but they built it up as a big event well and when Goldberg pinned Hogan it was one of the biggest pops I heard. Let's hope Triple H does the same.

- RVD is the same as the Duds, I don't know if he'll get on Summerslam but I don't know that he should be ahead of the other people who are going to be in it. Unless they can throw together Jericho vs. RVD for some reason. Or Booker vs. RVD.

- Just like i said in the Trish thread, Gail Kim was going to drop the title meaning that they'll need Trish as their face woman wrestler. Unless they turn Molly face. Then you could also have Molly vs. Victoria which is one of the few matchups they haven't done yet.

- You know what's sad about the Raw tag champs. I actually WANTED Cade and Jindrak to win. Man do Raw's champs look horrible compared to Smackdown or what? Triple H vs. Angle Booker vs. Eddie La Resistance vs. Benjamin/Haas

- Val was better when he was Bischoff's lackey, when he was wrestling with Storm too. When he was Bischoff's lackey and not wrestling I didn't like it because he should be wrestling. But yeah, going back to the Val gimmick isn't working.

- Forget RVD, where was Lance?

- I thought Rosey (or is it Jamal, i still don't know them a part) trying to fly was funny but I guess i'm the only one.

I had Raw on in the background and didn't bother to switch on the VCR when I left for the night. That was one stupid show.

I wish I could have seen the Shane and Kane thang everyone's talking about though. It makes sense for Shane to come in all pissed since he's a momma's boy. It makes sense for him to come in with some crazy offense. It doesn't make sense for Kane to not go crazy fucking go nuts on him.

(Edit: I really don't like the idea of Shane wrestling at Summerslam. I think Kane needs a real match on the card and not a sports entertainment attraction. "If I booked Raw," I'd bill him against Shane's mystery opponent and then bust out the Undertaker on PPV. Linda gave him a contract with a whole lot of years and a whole lot of zeroes, you know. Steph would be more than willing to offer his services to her brother.)

The only thing I enjoyed on the show was when Booker T was in the ring. He's having a good time out there. It seemed like he had a real rythm this week. I like seeing him and Steiner as allies but I don't like seeing Booker not having singles matches. Maybe their pairing could lead to a feud. I could be reading too much into it, but Stacy going to Booker first after the match got me thinking about that time when the Megapowers exploded. Steiner could play the Macho Man role perfectly.

They actually wrestled once on the main event of a Nitro, but it of course ended without a real winner. I don't recall the actual decision but I would say it was either a no contest or Goldberg by DQ.

Stacy looked hot.

Goldberg was mad over once again. I liked the Goldberg-HHH segment.

Highlight Reel was alright.

Nash-Jericho went way too long.

Once again, I enjoyed Kane. I didn't mind Vince and Kane in the same ring. Austin was his usual awesome self, but what surprised me was that there was no interaction between Austin + Vince. I also enjoyed the return of Shane. He looked a lot slim from the last time he was on TV. I hope their Summer Slam match is good.

Overall, while not as good as last week, Raw was sitll alright.

There was some stuff I didn't like this week (man, did Nash look OLD or what?) but if you didn't thoroughly enjoy the last half hour of that show, I don't know why you even watch pro wrestling. First off, that women's match was great. I've seen better, but it was a nice, crisp match with some good psychology and it ended with Molly hitting her move, which is awesome, and taking the title, which is even better. And the Kane segment was fucking awesome. Austin comes out and tells Kane that he can't attack Kane unless Kane hits him first, and Kane tells him to go fuck himself. Awesome. Then Shane (and his theme) makes a triumphant return. You know, someone on this board is always asking for Shane to come back, and now that he does, all I see is bitching. And for those of you who keep saying that Shane isn't a wrestler, well, his matches so far sure had me fooled. The only reason Kane left the ring was so that he would be up on the stage for the spot. I never even really thought about why he'd leave, because within about a minute I saw what they were setting up. And the end, with Kane just laughing at Shanes best offense, that was priceless.

My favorite line of the night HAD to be Bischoff chastising Goldberg and Flair for trying to do an impromptu match. Don't remember his exact words, but it was to the effect of not making big matches on the fly, and properly promoting them. Uh.... is this from the same guy who ran WCW Monday Nitro during its peak? Just wondering.

Goldberg was awesome last night. Give him credit for sticking to the formula that made him a star. I'm starting to look forward to the SummerSlam match now.

When Molly won the title, I could only imagine the reaction on this board. Personally, she doesn't do that much for me, but she's obviously more talented than Gail Kim.

Don't quite understand the point of Jericho being in the middle of the Orton-Michaels stuff (though, to their credit, they did at least give a reason for it), but if this leads to a quasi-face turn by Y2J, I'm all for it. Sadly, it looks like it will lead to a 'Slam match with ``Big Nasty''. Ugh. Had enough of that one already, thank you very much.

Glad to see they combined two of the main event interviews into one, but did anyone really think Austin would quit? Why involve him in this mess? And why involve Vince for that matter? Shane's appearance was harmless enough, and like I said, if it leads to a Shane/Kane SummerSlam match, why not? I DON'T like the prospect of Shane/RVD vs Kane/Vince, though.

Overall, not a bad show, but not anything overly amazing.

Am I the only one who likes the Cade/Jindrak tag team? They do need a reason as to why they got together but they coudl be good. I would like to see Jindrak go back to using his springboard lariat but we cant have everything can we? It gives both guys something to do and it gives everyone a new tag team. One tag team that would be an interesting one would be Harvard/Maven as it would give you the mismatch tag team that the WWE loves and it would come up with some good laughs.

FINALLY Molly gets some respect. All I can say is, Gail you will be good but in the words of Chuck Sherman "It's just not your time yet"

I was thinking about an idea for the Kane storyline and I would like to do some fantasy booking. Do any comic book fans here remember about 7 years ago when Spidey and Venom teamed up to stop Carnage?

First, I would have Ric Flair take on Kane b/c Bischoff feels that Flair could stop him being the legend that he is. I would have him squash Flair. Then I would have Orton and HHH talking about all of this and what happened. Then Bob Orton would show up to talk to Randy and see how everything was going. Before he got in the car to leave, I would have Kane completely destroy him and make him his bitch. This would lead to Randy flipping out and running in demanding a match with Kane. HHH would try to convince him not to do it but Randy being a pigheaded kid would want to avenge his father. Before going to the ring, RVD would stop Randy and tell him not to do it after what happened to him, Randy would call him a wuss and a man that cant take care of his own. Naturally, Randy would end up with his ass handed to him by Kane. I would then have HHH come down and try to make the save but be too late and just standing in the ring holding a lifeless Randy Orton. This would lead to HHH walking around angry and RVD would show up and say look dude we are the only shot of ending all of this tyranny and carnage, we gotta work together and beat this thing b/c alone we cant do it. They would agree to working together but once over, they would go their separate ways. Naturally, there would be some comedy involved with RVD/HHH talking with RVD's laid back persona and HHH and his intensity. I would blow my load at WMXX with HHH and RVD taking out Kane in a casket and setting the casket on fire.

The WWE could do far worse than to create its own America's Most Wanted. They just have to allow the teams to gel and that takes time. They need that time.

First, I'd like to say I don't think Kane was necessarily "running" from Shane. If you notice, when Kane was interacting with Austin, that was the "correct" monster you saw in there. Austin has this strange affect on Kane. But Shane shanghais him.
He probably walked off (with some consciousness remaining after Austin yelled at him) and wanted to do the right thing. Hence him NOT fighting back. There will be that point however when he will snap, because really, he hasn't yet.
So if this results in Shane being completely destroyed in a VUN (vicious, ugly, nasty) bumpfest ala KOTR, I'm all for it. Kane needs to drive home the point that nobody will get in his way, especially whne they get all up in his Kool-Aid and not knowing the flavor.
For all Shane knows, when this all shakes out, he and Kane could actually be on the same side. Bisch and Vince are the ones subjecting Kane to being shakled and treated like an animal. Bisch tried HITTING on Shanes mom. Very far points and loose correlation, but connect the dots. BISCH is THE bad guy here. Vince is always THE bad guy. Kane is being manipulated in a big way. Damn, what a good angle.

BTW, would someone tell Smark Kieth that they are NOT using Goldberg's actual music, rather, they are using the same shitty WWE musak?

>man, why am I tolerating WWE f*cking over Bill so bad? sheesh<
