Originally posted by ekedolphinWhen Eugene came out, all the drama seeped out of it for me. Of course he's going to win. Dammit, WWE has had their heads up their asses for the last couple of weeks now. I wanted to see someone unknown win, I wanted Angle's loss to come as a surprise, and the last thing I wanted is to see Kurt Angle's gold medals be challenged for as if they're a WWE title.
If it were to continue like that, then I’d agree. But for Angle, it’s a fun program. Hell, he did the same thing with Benoit in 2001. I don’t see this feud with as much potential for five-star matches as that one had, but it’s the perfect feud for Angle: a short-term feud with a sympathetic babyface (and capable mat wrestler) which gives him something to do for Summerslam, while he waits for his chance at a title shot. Eugene should be a great foil for Kurt.
And if it keeps him away from “beasty sex” references or crude innuendo toward Hogan’s underage daughter... hey, all the better.
Just to mention over here on the UK broadcast they left everything in including Edge f-bombs.. hey, it was 4am, Sky don't care. But sometimes they come back late from commercials, does this happen to Canadians?
I really enjoyed Raw for the most part, other than the Diva search and the Vis/Midgets stuff. I flipped over to Tucker Carlson to watch Penn Jilette talk during most of Vis' match and the Battle of the Bands.
Loved having Eugene win the medals. He and Kurt should put together some great comedy skits, and Kurt's always at his best when he's frustrated and confounded. Being beat by a mentally challenged guy will certainly get him in a huff.
Jericho's definitely stepping up in terms of presentation and presence. He's just starting to feel like a main eventer again, after years of trudging around in the mid-card. Carlito's growing on me, too, especially with his selling, but he needs a more effective offense.
Kane/Edge was more entertaining than last week's cage match, at least, and the extracurriculars afterwards were quite fun. I'm not sure where they're going with Kane, though, as JR almost acted like they'd witnessed a heel turn. How would that even work? You can't make Edge and Lita faces, then what's the point of all the Hardy stuff? Turn HIM heel?!?

The RAW replay in Canada after Sportscentre had the Matt Hardy attack. They cut away to generic crowd shots during the Kane/Lita stuff, and then bleeped the audio upon the impact of the tombstone.
The only thing I find enjoyable with the Matt Hardy angle so far is the cussing. It's funny to hear Edge yell "EFFF you!" I don't know why, it just seems so odd.
Originally posted by StiltonNone of the other Canadians mentioned this, but when I was watching RAW last night, during the Kane/Edge Match, at the end whenever Kane made a threatening move toward Lita, TSN cut to a commercial. They did it twice. The first time was a quick thirty second spot, then back to the action. The second time, the commercials went on for minutes, only coming back to the show as Kane drove off in the ambulance with Lita in the back.
I missed all the action between Kane sitting up off the stretcher after Edge pulled him over the "line of demarcation" up until Kane's getaway in the ambulance. I missed anything that had to do with Matt Hardy.
Did this happen to anyone else, or was there just something screwy with my cable?
Nah...happened to me too. Stupid censors!
It's not the censors, it's TSN. They get a head's up when any violence on women is going to start up because they don't want to deal with middle-aged mothers writing letters, so they chose how to cover it up. Usually they use the random crowd shots from 1997, but last night pissed me off because they went to commercials for minutes at a time, missing the entire last part of the match and any of the aftermath until Kane beat up a "police officer" (which is cool in Canada, I guess).
Where is the love for the shot of "Deer in the Headlights" Maria? They came out of a break directly to her staring at the camera before the Jericho promo, and she even got herself a POP~!
Maria's interviews (although I thought the Muppets reference was a bit forced) continue to be my guilty pleasures of Raw.

She's like the anti-Batista. Batista's always coolest when he's able to break from the script, because he comes off as a guy who is just naturally intelligent. It's when the writers put an effort into "witty" that it seems forced. Maria, on the other hand, seems naturally dumb as a post. You can't just put words in the mouth of someone like that! Just keep a camera handy, and let the magic happen on its own!
-The Pocket Rocket needs to stay on full-time as a manager/mascot for the Heart Throbs. He looks just like a guy I work with, and is only about 4-5 inches shorter than him, too...
-I was disappointed in Eugene being the one to beat Angle. We're supposed to believe that the "mentally challenged" Eugene is a superior (and smarter) wrestler to Matt Striker? While most people want a Eugene/Kurt feud, I have this morbid desire to see Matt Striker come out and start challenging Mr. Dinsmore.
-Shelton jobbing to Snitsky and Masters: Even though Masters is growing on me (his entrance is gold and he's better on the stick than people want to give him credit for), it does fly in the face of Shelton's amateur background that he supposedly doesn't know how to escape a full nelson.
-As far as Matt Hardy goes, it's time for the WWE to shit or get off the pot.
-Cena still annoys me, but Carlito is becoming the highlight of RAW for me each and every night. He just needs to pick up a potent offense somewhere along the way.
All I know is cloaca was just about as tall as one of those hearthrob guys. Talk about a bad call "yeah lets put the midget that's only about 5 inches shorter then the opposing talent and make them work together. That'll look great"
And HBK interview was great, still no classic 94 shawn, but I'll take a DX Shawn over <>< Shawn
I was disappointed that Fozzy didn't perform. I was very much looking forward to seeing that. I don't mind Cena's music, but it came off very muddled and messy on TV.
I've seen the following movies this year:
Coach Carter; Star Wars III; Batman Begins; Fantastic Four

I don't know about that, but he is the guy that was Mini-Angle when Angle was fueding with Cena in 2003. Angle dressed up as Cena and Pocket Rocket came out dressed as Angle and made "Cena" tap out.
