If only the power had stayed out for the whole 130 minutes, am I right? Am I right? Ahhhh.

Boy, you got a special ref, a gauntlet match, a "one arm behind my back" match, it SURE is easy to tell when Vince Russo's back.....what? Vince Russo is back with the other group? Oh. That's queer.

Two weeks from tonight is the "RAW Family Reunion," aka "the one year anniversary of Stone Cold coming back" (give or take a week) and now we gotta sit through THREE hours of this show. In the meantime, Edge will shoot his rematch wad NEXT week with a cage match.

Anybody who thinks that Bischoff thing was a "shoot" is strongly encouraged to NOT post, put the keyboard down, find a comfortable place and then shoot THEMSELVES. But not before buying the book!!!!!!!

Enjoy it while you can, hey jwrestle will hey surely want hey to hey post a hey "play-by-play recap" hey next week.

OKAY

...

...

GO

EDIT: Oh, right. My sign of the night was going to be the one held by the eight year old girl: "CENA MARRY ME" - but then Kim reminded me that they actually marry that young in Okie City. BA DUM BUM

What a clunky mess. It really had that house show feel to it, and if there was Bischoff I missed it.

If I had to put something in the what worked spot I guess I'd say that Jeff Hardy is still hitting most of his spots and has really strengthend the midcard. Also I saw a little extra of Malina tonight.

The lights going out gave WWE an air of unpredictibility that was kind of welcoming....It almost seemed that Lita/Candice wasn't the planned opening match, but they needed to throw something inconsiquential out there while they were getting things fixed....Boy, Cena really gave it to Lita during that interview segment....

The Kane/Umaga feud keeps going, and they keep amping up the brutality....I didn't care for the DX backstage segment....Shelton actually sounded good on the mic for once....I guess the Flair/SS matches is setting up a Flair/Kenny match?....The best Coach could do for tag teams is the Highlanders and Vis and Haas?....

Shelton/Jeff Hardy was kinda too short....The tag match was sloppy, and Carlito even had to direct Orton toward him before throwing him out fo the ring....Boy, that post-match beatdown went too long.

Someone please tell the people who write WWE programming that extended beatdowns are BORING. Case in point: Finley, Regal and Booker versus Cena: It was nearly ten minutes of dull violence that could have been condensed into three that wouldn't have sucked so bad. Same with the McMahons beating up on DX a few weeks ago.

However, on the flip side, seeing the WWE struggle when the power went out was hilarious. I'm fairly certain that match was improvised, and that the WWE made up for the extra time by showing the recap from Unforgiven during the DX entrance.

It was really good to see Bischoff, and his new books is definately on my list of books to check out. I kind of wish it wasn't written under the WWE BOOKS banner, though.

I loved DX tonight. Their victory over the Highlanders was funny as hell, and the pin on Viscera was brilliant.

Without warning, the Coach has become fairly entertaining. His interaction with Sheldon and facial reactions behind Bischoff were quite good.

Otherwise, not much of a standout show. Lita's boobs looked great tonight, though.

I was sorta hoping the lights would stay off all night. Made an interestive visual, like the old days when I would go to the houseshows before they had a thousand lights everywhere.

Wow. Shelton basically called Coach a house nigger.

When the best part of RAW is the Andre/Monsoon flashback, it's seriously time to switch to Heroes/Studio 60.

Oh yeah! What about those awesome kicks to Cena's head by Booker?

If you Tivo'd the beat down, take a look at those kicks for me. I swear those were weakest looking kicks I've seen since Rugged Ronnie Garvin.

I gotta agree with Super Shane Spear about the Andre/Gorilla segment being the best part of the show.I can't believe Gorilla was that huge. I only remember him behind the desk on "Primetime".

The funny thing about that was realizing two all-time legends, in their primes, threw worse punches than Cena.

The highlight of the show was in fact Nitro doing his slide into the ring entrance and being flung right back out the other side of the ring in a most Bushwhackerish fashion. Had everyone here in stitches.

X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

"You're a complete whitewash!"

Thank you Shelton Benjamin, for a line I'm destined to steal a thousand times.

Cade/Murdoch continuing to be on TV is good. Shelton wrestling on TV again is good. No Shane/Vince is excellent.

I really liked the Crazy/Carlito VS Masters/Orton match. Between this and the 6 pack cluster from last week I've learned that only Carlito and Crazy in tandem can keep me from FF-ing Orton apparently. I think apparently the WWF finally realized what business Rey/Eddie did for them on SD by drawing the Latino markets and have now decided to give Crazy a push on Raw. Whether or not that's the case I'm all for Crazy being on TV every week.

I didn't like the Highlanders getting completely punked out so much, but it didn't make me want to change the channel.

Bring Eric back as GM or a manager. STAT.

The show had a fun amount of energy, and I dug what I saw when I wasn't watching the football game.

Oliver's right about the Cena mugging; I thought Cena was the one extending it by not playing dead. I also wasn't high on him dispatching Lita so quickly. Yes, he should have won. Yes, he should have done it easily. But she should have gotten a few more shots in. Shame on her for ignoring her DDT and punches and relying instead on the Diva slaps. It's no-holds-barred. Get a chair. And shame on Lawler for not taking at least a verbal king-to-king shot at Booker.

The midcard tag was hot but short, and Carlito's moonsault into a backcracker was a nice spot. I have probably misguided hopes for an actual tag-team feud between DX and Cade/Murdoch. After months of DX against the Spirit Squad, an even rivalry looks like it could be entertaining.

So after months of half assed attempts to build the tag ranks back up, DX basically squashes the entire division in one match? That's Hogan-Savage DOOMSDAY CAGE level of burial.
The end of the show was interesting. At first I thought, man this beatdown of Cena is dragging on forever, but then I realized that a beating of Cena can never run too long. I guess John doesn't have any friends over the age of 12 that can save him?
I wonder if this might lead to a Cena-Booker title vs title match at the Raw 3 hour season premier?

Some good, some bad. It was a fairly watchable show for me, but there is still much room for improvement. I don't really want to go into detail on all of it, but here's some things that stick out in my mind:

It looked like Booker wasn't even making contact with those weenie kicks. Also, the way the match went down w/Cena and Lita made Edge look like a boob for not having *SOMETHING* planned to help her out. Is this the set up for her to retire? "I can't believe you didn't even try to help me, Edge! We're through and I quit!!"

Can somebody please tell me where all of this Jeff Hardy love comes from? How has he reclaimed this spot in the upper midcard without a real feud? He wrestles sloppy. He can't work the mic. The only thing he does well is fall/jump from high places. I really hope they let Shelton Benjamin pwn him at the next RAW ppv.

OTOH, I enjoyed Dx taking advantage of the Highlanders' naivete. If it happened a second time I would be bored and probably a little annoyed, but once was ok.

And I really enjoyed Coach tonight. I hope I never have to hear him announce again, but he was (as mentioned previously) good with Shelton and Bischoff. It's fun to watch his plans blow up in his face (Bischoff), but only when he appears competent (Shelton) for at least some part of the show.

Well, I hated the punking out of the Highlanders. I can understand that their characters are ones of not having much intelligence. That's fine OUTSIDE THE RING, but supposedly they are still a smart and decent tag team inside the ring. For them to get duped that badly during the match really tells me, and possibly most fans, that the team can never be taken seriously as a good tag team.

There just had to have been a better way to do a quick match to keep DX fresh for two more matches. Have the tried and true move of a heel tag team "distracting" Robbie and Rory so that Rory didn't see the superkick coming. Anything would be better than what they did.

All I know is Lita wrestled two five star, classic, Hall of Fame-level matches last night. She opened the show and wrestled the WWE Champion in the main event, the first woman to do so, and never even broke a sweat.

Lita is the greatest.

Stephanie McMahon pinned the Rock when he was WCW Champion, that's pretty good.

Lita is great though. Cena's material is usually weak but her crybaby facials make it.
