It's TIME TO WAKE UP! It's Monday Night Raw from Cleveland, OH.

OPENING: Hey, HBK is out. Hey in short he talks on the cell phone to Vince who is waiting for the birth of a baby by Steph, wink wink SMARKS! How art imitates life. Lovely...after making fun of Vince he hand the phone back to Coachman who find out he's got to wrestle HBK. Whoa...great. ***AD BREAK***

UNLIMITED: Missed it I was busy playing a game.

We're Back: Hey, it's the Spirit Squad...you all are getting broken up. They're taking on the Highlanders! About five to eight minutes of action and ref distraction we get Spirit Squad in a successful defense. Highlanders get there first loss. Ross finally made the notable connection the the BUSHWACKERS. Great. Foley interview. Fatboy was last weeks comments he's coming to RAW next week to settle things. Not wrestling.***AD BREAK***

UNLIMTED: Still playing a game.

We're Back: Flairs out...still ranting about Foley. Edge is out. He's the champion not Flair. Out of no where Johnny Nitro. They're doing a number on Flair until John Cena saves Flair. ***AD BREAK***

UNLIMITED: Ok, I didn't start this until 40 after tonight. Like CRZ said on the third week of ECW, "I'm going to be late next week".

We're Back: Hey, Grishim is out...talk about timing Stephs baby is here and it's a girl. GREAT now we don't have to worry about the world title change 25 years down the road going to the HHH son. Better luck next time HHH. Carlito in the back talking to Trish. He wants to hang out with her after the match. Shelton out...then Carlito it's a number one contenders match. Whoa...crap it was the match of the night. A few off timed moves but jeez Carlito and Shelton deliver tonight. Shetlon becomes the number one contender for the IC title. Review of Diva search that blows.***AD BREAK***

UNLIMTED: I can't even find the link...crap. I'll have to go back and check to see what happened.

We're Back: Hulk Hogan RETURNS to RAW and there he is in all his nostalgia. Cleveland going crazy for Hogan. Finally get to talk...does everybody know where this is going to lead? Out comes Orton. Starts talking about Brooke. Chant: HOGAN Orton looks at his watch like he's got something better to do other than cut his promo. Finishes his promo and Hogan says lets do it tonight. Comes to the ring...trys to get in at the entrance ramp side. No go...tries to get in on the annoucer side. No go...wait Lawler helps out Hogan. Boot! Orton runs! ***AD BREAK***

UNLIMITED: Screw it...

We're Back: Hey it's the women's part of the show. Out is Candice. Hot Diva Action. Candice is out and now Mickie is. Ross pointing out Mickie is a bit crazy. Mickie takes it Candice until she does the reverse hang over the ropes choke. She quickly regains the advantage and gets the pin. Hey, HBK vs Coachman is next.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Hey, it's, HBK vs Coachman. Should I even continue to cover this...man this an off night for me as to much is happening. Coach dominated by HBK. Wait it's the spirit squad. HBK clears them out. Superkick! Wait OOOOMMMMAAGGAAA! Giant SAMOAN drop! Spike! HBK flops around like a fish!

***AD BREAK***

We're Back; Diva search...another one eliminated. Hey the Miz can actually talk on live TV. The next contest is on Smackdown.

***AD BREAK***

We're Back: Out comes Nitro with Melina...then EDGE the champion. Flair is out...hey there is Cena. The company face and JR saying he's not here to win a popularity contest. Wow...they start hot off hot the action already on the outside!

We get the ***AD BREAK*** run in.

FINAL SEGMENT/OVERRUN: Hey, Edge helped get the advantage back during the break...Nitro whips Cena to a corner Nitro miss and Flair tagged in. Back drop on Nitro. Chop block...that never gets old. FIGURE 4! Edge breaks it up. Spear to Flair...1....2...Cena saves the match. Neckbreaker by Nitro on Flair. Flair chopping Edge. Edge comes back to beat down Flair in the corner. Ref steps in. Shoot to the corner reversed by Flair but a boot by Edge. They're going for the HOT TAG! The slobberknocker is out! You CAN'T see me. Chair by EDGE! Lita and Melina distract the ref. CENA kicked out! Nitro going for a snapshot DDT. Reversed into STFU! Nitro TAPS! Cena and Flair win. Review of the win. WWE copyright logo and fade to black. We're out.

I take a week off and then I half ass the report. I'll be back in full form next week. ECW TOMORROW Show VS Kane in an EXTREME RULES.

EDIT: Fixed some misspelling and MODS please insert thread logo. Thanks.

The opening interview was okay- I wasn't sure if HBK could hold a DX interview sans Triple H these days. Not thrilling for the fans tuning in knowing Coach/HBK will be coming up, I'm sure....Knowing that the SS will be broken up so, it's odd that they'd have the Highlanders do their first job against them....

Foley's promo wasn't as good as previous weeks....The Flair/Edge/Nitro segment was okay, I guess. Just set up the main event tonight, but injecting Nitro into the mix was good....I dug the Shelton/Carlito match, even though the crowd didn't seem that into it....I liked Lawler getting into the Orton/Hogan segment on such an innocuous swat by Randy. The question from now until SS will be: How much will Hulk be able to do in the ring?....

*New Ref Alert*- in the Candice/Mickie match; he looked familiar....I'm glad the Coach/HBK match didn't end with the SS and that they interjected Umaga in there....I still don't know what to think of Cena's promo with Maria....The main event was pretty good. No complaints here.

And jwrestle: they said on WWE.com last week they'd have news about Unlimited after the show. But I didn't get there to see what it was, and a quick check looks like its now been wiped off WWE.com

Three things I took from RAW this week:

1) Jim Ross must've been as bored as I was because he sure seemed to spend most of the show flipping through an US Weekly. Were the forced pop culture references coming faster and furiouser than ever this week or was it just me?

2) John Cena had been turning down the lame-ass trying-too-hard bullshit for the last few weeks and had been starting to grow on me in kind. (It may have just been that DX was taking lame-ass trying-too-hard bullshit to a whole new level causing Cena to seem reasonable in comparison.) That neverending painfully unfunny promo where he riffed on everything that happened on the show thusfar, struggling desperately to come up with a punchline and coming up short time and time again was, with no exaggeration, the worst five minutes of free WWE programming this year. That includes every segment starring Vince McMahon's ass, that includes every Kelly Kelly Wastes A Minute Of Your Time segment on ECW, that includes every Boogeyman match, that includes the entire Mark Henry ouvre. Painfully, embarassingly bad.

3) On the other hand, holy fuck is Umaga awesome! He did nothing for me when he was fighting jobbers and/or Eugene every week, but these last few weeks since he's become part of the program proper, he's making me remember why I was such a Three Minute Warning mark. He looked like he shattered Shawn Michaels' ribs with that Samoan Drop. Because he probably did. Umaga rules. That's it, "Get Behind Me Satan" is, like, a year old - it's new avatar time!

It looks like WWE.com Unlimited no longer exists. The link has been taken down from WWE.com.

http://media.wwe.com/wwelive/live_300.wvx is/was the Unlimited link, and it was dead all night, as well as last week.

Okay, Umaga's got the upside down turnbuckle headbuts, and now he's got the throw-into-the-samoan-drop, but the spike to the throat is still his finisher? Come on, Umaga has so much more credible offense, why on earth do they insist on sticking with his lamest move as his finisher?

It's not lame, it's old-school. I kinda like it. It's simple, can come out of nowhere, and it's over with the fans.

I actually think Umaga's gonna beat Michaels.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. I agree. I see sweet chin music to Umaga's head and Umaga no-sells the kick - HBK is ASTONISHED - Ross is floored - and Umaga spikes Michaels for the win.

Then he gets the win back the next week - or even better, Umaga becomes DX.

That could be cool. I love Fantasy booking as much as our dictator hates it.

That's funny, I thought that promo was the best thing Cena has done in a while. I thought it was hilarious. It reminded me of something The Rock would do (though I'm not sure that's what WWE was going for). CHAOS ON RAW~! I do have to say, though...how many shots is Cena going to get at the WWE Title? Seems like the guy fights for it every two weeks.

Umaga is still cool to watch, and I am very interested in seeing where this goes. On one hand, I can't imagine they'd just feed him to Michaels, but on the other hand, I still don't really see him being more than a sideshow. If he beats HBK, what next? Triple H? He already beat Cena, is the World Title in his future? I just doubt they'd get behind him (or that he could carry himself) in that big of a role.

Carlito/Benjamin was awesome. Good match, with a good finish. If Carlito doesn't get inserted into that IC match, what does he do next? He obviously has unfinished business with Benjamin...but they sure seem to be going somewhere with this recent interaction with Trish Stratus. Again, I'm interested in seeing how this plays out.

I thought for sure the tag titles were going to change hands given the recent rumors that the Spirit Squad will be broken up. I wonder if originally they were going to defend them against DX? No substance to that, just random speculation. Regardless, I hold out hope that *maybe* the rumors were false and these guys will stay together a little longer. I really like them (when they'e not fighting DX). Incidently, nice to have HBK AGAIN make them all look like chumps.

RAW has a lot of things going that I'm anxious to follow. I like the way the show is going right now. I think Carlito and Benjamin (and maybe even Nitro) could all be big stars for WWE given some patience and time to reach that level. In the case of Nitro, though, he reminds me too much of Edge right now. Their entrances one after the other last night made it obvious to me that there are just too many similarities.

EDIT: Another thing that made me laugh was Edge's hilarious look of disgust when he was told he was teaming with Nitro. I like Edge infinitely more right now than I did at the start of the year when he first won the title.

Pretty obvious Kenny is the shining star of the Spirit Squad. Not only was he taking on the main eventers leading up to the DX reunion, but now he has TWO finishers: the sky-high leg drop and the rolling neckbreaker (which was Carlito's just a few months back). I know nothing about Kenny's work in OVW except that he apparently had some work in OVW. I know he can sell, and he's got the smirking heel look. I expect he'll go solo when they break up the gang, leaving two or three guys to work a tag team, and one other to enjoy that Ron Conway Heat career.

Taking a page fom ScreamingHead Guy, you must know that the Lovely Mrs. Tracker and Kathy the Newbie hate Nitro's pants with a deep-seeded, anti-pants passion. Also, they give Melina the Skank Award. I agree. Virtually all the prospective divas are more attractive, but they probably can't scream like a banshee during matches like she can. Oh, and she has that ring entrance.

I liked the main event tag a lot and Nitro/Edge make a natural alliance, even temporarily. Loved that ending. Shelton/Carlito was aces, too.

Just when I was relieved not to hear the Estrada shout-out, Cena has to do it. Rassem frassem.

What was Cena babbling about in his promo. It just screamed, "please like me". I will give this show a break due to what was going on backstage. There were a few highlights though, the main event was decent, as was Carlito-Shelton. They need to fully unleash Carlito, but I guess they are afraid he might, I don't know, get over or something. I liked the Foley promo too, but the taped promos are getting old.
I hope that Hogan-Randy doesn't go on last at SS, because there is NO WAY Orton can drag 2 stars out of Hulk.

Nice to see that they didn't forget about Estrada's post-match rant being tampered with the night DX took over the truck.
Very nice ending to Shelton vs. Carlito. Unusual making a heel #1 contender to a belt held by a heel though.
They had the simplest way possible to force Foley into a match against Flair and they let it go right past them. They were in Cleveland for RAW. Why not have Flair break out 'Lost in Cleveland' footage? Wouldn't that cause Foley to want to get his hands on Flair, the footage that he pretty much begged in his book to have destroyed?
Never thought Gary Hart and the Great Muta would appear on RAW together. I know they had a brief match at Starrcade '89, but a Flair/Muta program would have been fun. And, who else ponders how different the world would have been if that Gary Hart had been on the ballot for President rather than the Gary Hart from Colorado? Abdullah the Butcher would have made a fine head of the USDA.

I tuned in late, sorry I missed Shelton-Carlito.

The Hogan promo was done well, along with Orton's pacing around the outside of the ring. I liked Lawlor throwing Orton in the ring for the big boot, and especially liked Orton's childish facials on his retreat. Say what you like about Randy, he's more than pulling his share of selling this feud. Since I won't buy the PPV either way, I don't care that much, but it wouldn't surprise me if Hogan lays down for Orton in a screwball ending.

I took the trash out and washed dishes instead of the diva search.

Add me to the list of those impressed with Umaga's spots - tossing HBK into the Giant Samoan Drop was clearly one of the highlights of the night. They should NOT have shown the replay from the angle where HBK clearly was looking at the big screen to make sure Umaga was there behind him before he turned around, but it did not detract from an impressive visual.

I kind of liked the picnic commercial for SummerSlam, especially Kurt's taking the pie-in-the-face. How many takes?

I agree that Cena's promo with Maria was one of the better things he's done in a while, and I was also reminded of the Rock - it seemed like the type of filler segment that uses up an extra couple of minutes - perhaps less rehearsed than some of the other more forced promos Cena has to do. Part of me wondered if they were expecting longer ovations for Hogan?

Cena was definitely over tonight, and the hot crowd made the main event more special. Even though the formula is as old as they come, the old man face in peril until the hot tag, Edge's chairshot was textbook heel tactic, Flair preventing Edge from breaking up the submission was something we haven't seen every week, and face it, we don't often see tag matches end in submission.

Was this Johnny Nitro's first main event?

Or, indeed, any other wrestling move whatsoever.

Look, maybe complaining about the guy's piss-poor ability was churlish back when he was raking in money and ratings, but at this point, when he's clearly far older and less capable than anyone else on the roster, it's definitely fair game. Orton's a lanky streak of piss, and even he looks capable of flooring the guy with one decent punch.

He sold the punches well last night. While no one should expect a decent workrate, I think Orton can put on a good show, and Hogan just has to gesture to make the fans go nuts. There is a danger, though, of Orton winning over the Nashville crowd with textbook dickery.
