Okay, I can see that the volunteers have deserted, so I'll start it, but to be honest I'm still catching up on watching the show after "24" - HOLY CRAP WHAT IS TRISH WEARING BUTT BUTT BUTT

Anyway, the parts I've seen lead me to two very important things:

1. When we're watching pre-taped or backstage segments, we could probably turn down the headsets so we don't have to hear freakin' ECHOechoechoes during the entire segment

2. GOD DAMMIT, either it's "real" or it's not. If it's "real" you can't have freakin' "voices in Kane's head" background noise that STOPS when Big Show enters the frame. If you REALLY want to do something like this, you make a vignette out of it. You DON'T inject it into the "reality" part. Seriously, is this SO hard to understand? Apparently...yes, it is.

Here, you take it. I have to watch the main event (early money on next week's main event: Triple H vs. Edge & John Cena in a handicap match - and it won't make any sense THEN, either!)

OKAY...

I think the next time Mickie and Trish have a match they will double clothesline each other and merge into Trickie Jamus. I did Trish in a skirt. And that is like what, the 4th time they kisses each other? Damn, thats sexy...

And how come we can hear Kane's voices in his head ONLY when he is walking backstage? They should do the voiceover thru the PA system when he is in the ring damnit.

Opening talk-fest was okay, but the time could've been cut in half....RVD/Conway was pretty entertaining and RVD got in all his moves for the crowd. I'm glad they kept it short so Shelton didn't have to commentate too long....Was that Steve Romero talking to Kane? Isn't he on Velocity?....So now we can hear inside Kane's head?....I'm surprised the tag match lasted so long, considering how it ended. It wasn't too bad- Spirit Squad made it quite watchable....Vince's clueless exploits in church were pretty fun for a few moments....

Does Umaga have to follow the dress code too? That's what I wondered during his squash match....The Carlito/Masters segment wasn't terrible, even though I have little interest in either of them....The women's match wasn't pretty, but Trish as Mickie was genius....How many times did someone say "quite frankly" tonight? Vince, Shelton, Coach, Lawler. Vinny Mac is rubbing off on these guys....The main event was certainly nothing special.

I had this stinking feeling that they were gonna turn Kane heel to parallel his new movie ... I just didn't think it would be so hokey. I hope that they're going somewhere with the "May 19th" thing, which conveniently is the release date his movie.

Damnit, Triple H needs to just use one theme song, preferably the new "King of Kings" song. That f'n rocks.

I didn't see the Carlito/Masters segment from this week or last week, but from reading recaps of both I still don't know who's the face. Any help?

"This Week in Pointless Indie Ribs..."

27 Sept 2004, Eugene cut the hair of an worker who claims to be named Scott Colton. Colton is in fact, Chris Guy, who gave the real name of his protege, Colt Cabana.

10 Apr 2006, Umaga squashes a wrestler Joey Styles refers to as Chris Guy. Guy is in fact Scott Colton, who returns a year and a half old favor by using the real name of his trainer Ace Steel.

No, I haven't been able to do the Raw PBP because last week I was driving back from Wrestlemania and this week I had a meetng at work at 9pm. I caught the over run of Raw...well I see what Backlash is going to be and I see HHH getting the belt from rumors circulating on the net. Have to wait and see and apparently they can't have a face villian in a movie. I agree to disagee with it...ehh.

I think it's intentional that you can't tell who's a face in the Carlito/Masters thing. They're trying to see if the fans will pick a side, though they're leaning towards Chris.

I thought they were totally going to go with Masters as a face this week - Carlito was out there to start the segment, so he probably said something during Unlimited to rile up the crowd, and Masters didn't dropped his entrance - but the person who wrote that must've not talked to the person who wrote Carlito making Masters look like an idiot by the end of the segment.

I'm sure it's all a concidence, since they haven't really left the Chicago area yet, but this is the third straight taping Colt Cabana has appeared on - he lost on Heat and he lost on Velocity last week. I actually figure this is a bad sign; if they liked him, they use someone else as a random TV jobber. Didn't hear the COLT chants tonight, but I think last week's crowd was different.

I tuned in about the same time CRZ did and wasn't sure if I wanted to scan back to see what I missed. I would never have forgiven myself if I missed that Vince skit. What a shocking turn of events that Vince wasn't burned by holy water.

Who cares though, it's COLT CABANA on Raw! He got about the same amount of offense as he has had in some of his battles with Homicide in ROH.

Did Vince use "Holy Water" to imitate Triple H? Wow, that is really funny...or not. And I don't think Shawn is Catholic. Perhaps that's why HBK is okay with this angle?

Chris Masters=2006 version of Shawn Stasiak? In any event, I actually like this angle and I'm just guessing that they are injecting a little real life into the angle (Masters certainly doesn't look like he has much upstairs). Now watch next week as The Masterpiece goes to a library to "prove" to us that he's smart.

It was divine. Vince Goes To Church and Trickie James were great. Unfortunately, there's no more good wrestling on this show outside of the Spirit Squad. I guess that's what Smackdown~~~ is for.

Neither really, but Carlito's getting the cheers, so he'll be the defacto face in this feud. Whether or not he'll be booked that way remains to be seen, but I'd imagine that WWE would figure out pretty quickly that the crowd isn't going to cheer Masters.

Other thoughts:
I was actually digging Cena's promo work in the ring tonight. I also noticed during this segment that Edge has a tendency to flub lines here and there ("unless they're older than seven years old"). And did I hear HHH refer to Vince as "the old man?" WINK WINK, SMARKIES!

Cena slaps Hunter, so Hunter slaps...Rob Conway. So, in retaliation, Conway slaps us with the greatest wrestling theme ever to be done in the style of Randy Newman.

Poor Shelton just seems so damn nervous when he needs to talk. It's good at least that they've moved him away from Momma, but having someone do the talking for him wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea. I wonder if anyone took him aside to remind him that the title on RAW is the WWE Championship, not the World Heavyweight Championship?

I can't be the only one who imagined that the "they're all going to know" during the Kane's Voices segment would end with "...that your acting is horrible." Or maybe it's Chucky, making his return to challenge Kane for the title of King of Horror Films*?

To answer some queries from last week, they are indeed enacting the "Freebird Clause" and allowing all five members of the Spirit Squad to rotate defending the belts. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed, since just having Kenny and Mikey defend them would at least give some semblance of individual characters, but it's getting them heat, so I can't complain too much.

Hey, Colt Cabana! ...gets squashed by Ugama. Oddly enough, they seemed to make a point not to get too close on him or show his face. I get the feeling someone's being courted for a developmental deal...

Trish looks amazing as a redhead. Then again, I'm partial to them.

I had so little interest in the main event that I stopped watching. I guess it further built towards the triple threat match, which is good, but I like when guys competing in a PPV main event are kept out of matches with each other until said event, handicap match or no. That's just a personal preference of mine, though.

All in all, an okay RAW. Sort of a letdown after a quite enjoyable edition last week.

Really? I assumed it would be Carlito as the face because, like Deputy Marshall said, he had already been getting cheers from the fans. Not to mention I think he'd make a better face than Masters.

Some thoughts:

I liked a lot of this episode and I watched most of it live.

The opening segment - I like Edge a lot after that. I actually though Raw would be good because of the segment. I could even stand Cena but I blame Edge for that.

Spirit Squad. GO SPIRIT SQUAD!

I liked Carlito. I don't think he should be the one to break the masterlock though. Masters took the chairshot well. I think Carlito is going to come out the face on this one because Masters just sucks too much plus he's being played as REALLY dumb in this angle.

Trish Stratus... Both of them. I like this story line now.

I liked the Vince vs God segment. Will I burn in hell for this? I can't believe a church agreed to let them film it though. Anybody know if it was actually filmed in a tv or film studio?

I don't like the fact Edge tapped out to Cena. I think Edge should get the belt back.

I dislike Chris Masters.

I'm not one who dislikes Cena right now. That being said though, Cena's explanation of why people boo him was passable, but it also made me really wish for the return of the "darker, more evil" version of himself that we saw way back when on Smackdown. I still have a clip of him on my computer doing a run in on an Angle match and FU-ing him *and* the other guy for no good reason (since he was feuding with Taker). Then again, my memory could be hazy and the clip is 67 seconds long.

BUT still, evil/heel Cena = cool.

Am I the only one who thought Kane was referring to Katie Vick when his "voices" were saying "May 19, It's Happening Again"? Like when his movie comes out, the murdering Kane will uh...come back or something? Eh, who knows. That was the idea though.

In related news, the return of Trish's bare ass was long overdue.

Hee, count me in on those who loved the "Trickie James" thing. "Ohmygod, ohmygod, my grandpappy was like your biggest fan ever~!" Just add this to the long list of reasons why Trish Stratus is awesome.

The segment in which we heard the voices in Kane's head-- sure, it was WrestleCrap, but at least it was so ridiculous that I was able to laugh at it. So, are we getting Big Show vs. Kane at Backlash, or is Show gonna let cooler heads prevail, remember Kane's crazy, and not hold it against him? (Yeah, as if anyone in WWE ever lets cooler heads prevail).

The segment with Vince and Shane in the church... hee, they pull off the Vince/Shane relationship perfectly, with Shane acting as the straight man to Vince's ever-increasing insanity. The part where Shane has to tell Vince not to wash his hands in the holy water, and the part when he takes several steps away from Vince when Vince dares the Almighty to strike him down, were both funny little Shane moments that remind me why he's the only McMahon I really like watching.

It goes to show the kinda night we had when the first three things I think of are all non-wrestling segments. So, hmm, on the subject of the wrestling... RVD's match was short, sweet, and set up what will no doubt be a tremendous matchup with Shelton Benjamin at Backlash. Are we looking at a future 6-time Intercontinental Champion?

The World Tag Team Title match served its purpose, to see Kane unraveling before our very eyes. (Then again, it's not as if he was particularly, um, "raveled" to begin with). But wasabi with the referee calling for the disqualification after Kane threw four chairs into the ring? He hadn't used 'em yet! No wonder he ended up getting chokeslammed.

Main event was nothing to write home about.

EDIT: And d'oh, how could I forget to mention Carlito clocking Chris Masters with a chair? That was a sweetly-timed little segment. Masters turns his back, Carlito stands up and grabs the chair, Masters turns his back, Carlito WHACKS him. Das? DasCOOL!

I thought the show was a lot of fun last night. Although I just don't get the love for Edge. He seems a third wheel in the feud and not needed to me. The STFU on him was well executed and looked like The Prototype has finally got that move completely down.
(and I am glad, the because I always thought the FU was a crappy finisher)

Trish and Mickie. New level. Nice thongs on both the girls. Mickie wasn't prepared for the Trish pants, she almost lost 'em like 50 times. So I like this feud a lot.

Can someone give me a somewhat detailed (at least a little) of the Vince/Shane in the church thing? I am on the road this week and the wifey called at that segment and I had the TV on mute. I saw him try and wash his hands in the holy water and Shane give him the no no no look. But the whole part in front of the altar - I didn't figure any of that. Figure he was challenging God to a cage match - but can someone fill in the blanks?

I don't suppose there's any chance of Kane putting the Mask back on is there? Cause I am tired of Glenn Jacob's face. They needed to break up Kane/Show for several reasons, so that part is good. The bad part is they need to feud with each other and the Spirit Squad feuds with who???

It's probably giving 'em too much credit, but there's a very slim chance that the "Kane hears voices" segment is the set-up for someone messing with him.

I'm with AWA on the quality of the show. Wrestling-wise it was no great shakes, but the booking towards Backlash is already stronger than most of last year's single-brand shows. They really do need to get some half-decent challengers in place for the Spirit Squad tho.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

I really liked that everything on this show actually moved forward stuff that started last week. No one was just spinning their wheels. Even the Kane stuff (which was DUMB) was going forward. Trickie Jamus and the Spirit Squad were gold. And I'm really digging Edge in his role as unregarded challenger. Hopefully, he'll either win at Backlash, or at least be in a position to continue a singles fued for the title. Finally, I like Umaga. I said last week I'm a sucker for the Wild Samoan gimmick, and Headshrinker Jamal is going full bore with it. He did the crazy arm waving before the flying headbutt, he did the crazy yelling during the match, he did the thumb spike (who used to use that? was it Meng before he went to the Tongan Death Grip?), and he tried to eat his own thumb after the match. I love it!
